Foreword
Y'know, I'm honestly surprised that there isn't some form of text walkthrough for this game. I get that video walkthroughs are all the rage now, but... well, they're just not as easy to use when you're actually playing the game. Can't exactly hit CTRL+F on the keyboard and find the exact spot in the video that you need, now can you? So that's why I'm doing this.

Now, there IS an OFFICIAL video walkthrough up on Chris Niosi's YouTube channel, and you're more than welcome to use it. Hell, I used it to get any information that I simply couldn't find on my own. But despite being an official walkthrough from the creator of TOME, it does have its flaws. My biggest gripe is that there's no commentary of any kind. That's another reason I decided to create this walkthrough.

This is a work in progress. Once the actual text walkthrough is complete, I don't know if I'll be adding anything else to the guide, but feel free to leave your comments.

UPDATE: Well, the overall guide through the game is finished, and I'm kinda proud of it. Buuuuuut I feel like I can add more. I guess we'll see what I can do, won't we?

IN ADDITION, and I don't know why I didn't do this in the first place, I want to extend a HUGE thanks to Chris Niosi and every wonderful individual who has ever been involved in the creation of TOME! Everything has been a wonderful, magical, tear-jerking, heartwarming experience, and it feels like there's so much more to discover! Mr. Niosi, I don't know if you'll ever see this, but if you do, I truly hope we can all return to TOME in the future! You've really made something incredible here!
Setting the Stage
The year is 2020. COVID-19 is running rampant, and without a vaccine, the best way to slow it down is for people to minimize contact with others. Most folks around the world are stuck in their homes, only leaving their property when absolutely necessary. Human activity the world over has decreased noticeably and the consequences of this will be... surprisingly positive, actually. When was the last time you saw a photograph of San Francisco that wasn't enveloped in a thin veil of smog? With the world in such a slowed down and otherwise dire state, many begin to turn to fictional worlds that exist on the internet.

Perhaps the most popular of these is the Terrain of Magical Expertise. Here, players are given an incredible range of customization for their avatar's appearance and combat abilities, and this strange world is vast, mysterious, and enchanting. Grand adventures and heart-pounding competition await all who arrive!

But sinister forces are at work in this game. And you, a White Hat hacker, have been hired to stop them. Choose your combat style carefully, and be ready for anything, ESPECIALLY if it breaks the rules of the game...

Prepare to step into a world the likes of which you have never seen.

Welcome to TOME.
Gameplay and Controls
The Terrain of Magical Expertise, or TOME, is a role-playing game. You take on the role of a mysterious white hat hacker who has been hired to combat the despicable actions of black hat hackers who are plaguing the popular in-universe online game of TOME. If you're wondering what the difference is between a white hat hacker and a black hat... well, you ever watch Star Wars? Think of hacking as being able to use the Force. White hats are like the Jedi, black hats are like Sith. While a white hat does what they do to promote order and protect the vulnerable, black hats hack and manipulate systems for power, money, or fun.

Unlike most traditional RPGs, there is no experience or leveling system in TOME. Instead, improvements depend entirely on the equipment you use, the techniques you learn, and your own skill at playing the game. Practice and patience will be your best friends in this game!

The game can be played with a keyboard or with a gamepad. Use the arrow keys, D-Pad, or joystick to move your character on the map and the selection cursor in menus and combat. Use the WASD keys and gamepad front-face buttons to choose your actions during combat. Use Z/Enter or the right face button to confirm selections, X/Escape or the down face button to cancel or go back, and the C key or Start button to bring up the menu when you're not in combat, or use the appropriate buttons on your gamepad.

=Overworld=

There are two primary aspects of gameplay: Overworld exploration, and combat. The various maps you explore in the overworld are presented in isometric fashion, but if you're like me, you'll be happy to know that the controls for the game aren't also turned at an angle. Up is still UP, not up and to the left or to the right. Moving diagonally means pressing two direction keys at once, or moving the control stick in that direction if your'e on a gamepad.

Whilst in the overworld, you can interact with objects and NPCs (non-player characters) by using the Z or Enter keys on your keyboard. Z/Enter also allows you to confirm selections. The X key lets you cancel selections and exit menus. The C key brings up your player menu, where you can use items, view your Power-Ups, change game options, or even return to the title screen. For gamepads, use the face buttons to confirm (right face button) or cancel selections (down face button), and the Start button ("+" on Nintendo Switch controllers) to bring up the player menu. Keep in mind that this won't pause the rest of the game, so you could still get dragged into battle by a wandering monster!

=Combat=

Combat in TOME is turn-based, and uses the WASD and arrow keys. The game itself provides a much better tutorial than I could here, but I'll give it my best shot.

Whenever it's one of your characters' turns, you'll have four options to choose from: Strike, Items, Magic, and Strategize. To use them, press the appropriate key or gamepad button. You only have 30 seconds to make a decision, though!

The D key is used for your basic physical attack. Hit the key, use the arrow keys to select your target, then hit the D key again to execute the attack. Your character will move to the space directly in front of the target and strike! Further, if you press the D key just before you hit the enemy, you can turn your attack into a multi-strike combo.

The W key opens your Items menu. Use the arrow keys to select an item, then press W again to confirm your selection. If the item only affects a single character or enemy use the arrow keys to select the target, then press the W key one more time to use the item.

The A key accesses your magical abilities. Use the arrow keys to choose your technique, hit A to confirm, and if you need to choose a target, arrows to select and A to execute. Make sure you read the instructions for each technique carefully! Making full use of any magical attack will require specific button presses, and sometimes proper timing as well.

Finally, the S key opens your Strategize menu. For most playable characters, you'll only have three options: Defend, Scan, and Flee. As always, use the arrow keys to select and the S key to confirm. Hitting Defend puts that character into defensive position for one full turn, which reduces all incoming damage until it's that character's turn again. The Flee option is exactly what it sounds like: Your party attempts to flee the battle. It won't always work, though, but it's best to pick as many fights as possible early in the game anyway (later on you'll get access to Arenas where you can farm past opponents for cash). The Scan option is the most useful one in my opinion. This lets you take a look at your enemies' elemental alignments. their stats, and even any immunities to status ailments. The best part is, it doesn't take up your turn! If you're quick, you can quickly come up with a plan for dealing with your opponents using this info and still do something with that same character that turn!

As always, the face buttons equate to the WASD keys. The top face button is W, left is A, bottom is S, and right is D.

There is a FOURTH option in the Strategize menu that is only available to the White Hat Hacker, and that is the Hack ability. There are only three options at the start of the game, but you'll gain more as the story progresses. Debug is the one you'll use the most throughout the entire game because you'll be fighting against several black hat hackers who have no qualms about cheating. For example, the first group of hackers you face, the Trouble Makers, have scripts they can use that make them untargetable in combat or can force opponents into defensive position permanently by overflowing their timer. Use the Debug option to put an end to their shenanigans!

If you use any other hacking abilities, though, it can cause damage to the integrity of the in-universe game's code, reducing it by 25%, 50%, or even 75% depending on which hack you use. Bad things will happen if code integrity reaches zero!. Use the Debug feature to restore 25% of code integrity.
Combat Tips and Tricks
Combat in TOME follows the "Rock-Paper-Scissors" trend of elemental strengths and weaknesses. There are five elemental affinities in the game: Crystal, Infernal, Natural, Technical, and Neutral As Kirbopher explains in the game, this is just a fancy way of saying "Ice, Fire, Wood, and Electricity". Each of these elements is strong against one and weak against another, and each element also has a unique status ailment associated with it. Neutral is the only affiliation which has no strengths or weaknesses. As for the others, Crystal beats Infernal, Infernal beats Natural, Natural beats Technical, and Technical beats Crystal.

There are four status ailments in the game, each one associated with one of the four elements. All status ailments last for three of the affected combatant's turns.

  • Encase: Freezes one target, making them unable to perform any actions. The ice can be broken by some attacks, but you cannot attack your teammates so you'll have to use an item, hope an enemy hits them with a Strike or similar attack, or wait until the ice melts. This ailment is associated with the Crystal element.
  • Curse: Inflicts a small amount of damage to the target at the end of each of their turns. The minimal damage makes this ailment the most tolerable of them all, but it is still useful in whittling away HP in boss fights. This is the signature status ailment of the Infernal element.
  • Flower: Transforms the target into a flower that can only Strike, Scan, or Defend. You also cannot use multi-strike combos while you're a flower, so Brawlers have it especially rough. This ailment most often comes from Natural elemental attacks.
  • Paralyze: Lowers the targets speed and defensive power, and also has a chance to skip the target's turn. Typical of Technical-type attacks.

Combatants can be affected by multiple ailments at once.

I personally find "Flower" to be the most useful of all these when it comes to dealing with troublesome opponents. It doesn't discourage you from attacking them like Encased does, and reduces their offensive power to a single Strike.

As stated earlier, all status ailments last for three of the affected character's turns, and they all go away at the end of the battle.

You can defend while you're being attacked. Before an attack hits, press the S key or the bottom face button on the gamepad to temporarily place that character on the defensive. It won't work against every attack, though, and multi-strike combos can still get some full-power hits in, even if your timing is good. Still, this is something you should absolutely master.

When executing physical attacks, pressing the Strike key just before the attack hits the enemy will let you execute a second attack. Brawler class fighters, however, can execute up to SIX strikes in a single attack! Start pressing the Strike key rapidly before the first hit lands!

Your MP, or magic points, are collectively shared by your entire party, so you have to manage it wisely. There are two ways to recover MP during battle: Items, and physical attacks. For every Strike you execute, you regain 1 MP per hit (even if it does 0 damage). This is why I find Brawlers to be the most useful of the three classes. They can recover up to 6 MP for the party with multi-strike combos!

There are a lot of interesting combat mechanics you'll encounter as you venture through TOME. One is the Trap. There are various kinds of traps. The most annoying one in my opinion is Dirt Knap. The user sets a trap on the space in front of them, and anyone or anything who steps on that space has their attack canceled and they are afflicted with the Flower ailment (but even if they're immune to Flower, the attack is still canceled!). Not all traps will cancel incoming attacks, but the most annoying ones do.

There are also various kinds of barriers. Some simply prevent damage for a single hit before breaking. Others might reflect projectiles back at their origin.

You should watch out for anyone and anything that uses portals. If a portal is placed in front of an enemy, use close-range attacks. If it's placed on the ground in front of them, use long range attacks. You'll end up taking damage if you don't follow this advice.

One last thing: When fighting against hackers, make good use of your own hacking abilities! As I said, Debug is your best friend for these fights. Don't feel bad about using any of your other hacks against these cheaters either. For example, the Input_Lag hack will prevent the target from hitting you with multi-strike combos. These hackers are cheaters and need to be stopped, so do whatever you have to in order to win against them.

Actually, one more thing, and this is probably the most important one: There is NO WAY to pause the game during combat! The game will proceed with or without you, so make sure you don't have anything else to do in real life before picking fights!
Introduction: Creating Your Character
When the game begins, you'll be greeted with a brief cutscene, followed by a computer screen. Read the emails and reply to "Yuno Hu", then get ready to build a character! Unfortunately, it's not as exciting as it sounds.

Your first option is going to be to select your race. You can choose humanoid, animalistic, cybernetic, or morphological. The thing is, this has ZERO impact on gameplay itself, so pick whichever one you like best! Unfortunately, this is going to be all you can do with regards to customizing your character's appearance. It sucks, I know, but that's the way it is.

Your next choice will be your combat class. You have three options: Brawler, Spellcaster, and Weaponary. Each one focuses on specific statistics, and your choice will also affect what moves you can learn.

Brawler: Gains a Speed stat bonus, can execute up to six strikes when using physical attacks (rapidly press the Strike button!), and your first offensive magic technique will be a multi-hit style attack on a single target. Remember that Brawlers can also execute up to six Strikes in a single turn if you time your button presses correctly, and while these strikes are pretty weak in terms of damage, the true power of the Brawler is their ability to quickly recover MP for the party.

Weaponary: Weaponaries focus on direct physical combat and gain a bonus in their physical Attack and Defense stats. Your first magical attack will be a single-hit strike against one target. Weaponaries prefer to deal as much damage as possible to wipe out enemies quickly.

Spellcaster: Spellcasters are kind of a mix between Brawlers and Weaponaries. They can still only execute up to 2 physical attacks, but their stat boost is in Magic Attack and Magic Defense, and your first magic attack will be the same as the Brawler. Spellcasters focus on using powerful magic to win combat.

Here's a table of the base statistics for each class. Your race and elemental alignment have no bearing on this.

Whichever class you choose, you'll also receive green, blue, and red Power-Up slots.

I find myself using strategies that focus on magic, supported by physical attacks to regain MP. This might scream "Spellcaster" to most, but I personally recommend going Brawler. Once you get the hang of hitting your targets multiple times, you'll find that regaining MP is a lot easier and you can use your magic abilities more often. However, this isn't the only way to play the game, and I encourage you to find your own preferred style!

Following your Class will be your Elemental Alignment. You have five options to choose from: Crystal, Infernal, Natural, Technical, and Neutral. If you've ever played Pokemon, and I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that you have (I certainly did!), then you should know that these elements function in a similar manner. As Kirbopher will state in the game, these are just fancy names for Ice, Fire, Wood, and Electricity, and each of those four beats the next in the order listed. Crystal beats Infernal, Infernal beats Natural, Natural beats Technical, and Technical beats Crystal. So if your character is a Natural element, you'll take extra damage from Infernal attacks, but less damage from Technical attacks, and you'll take normal damage from Crystal, Natural, and Neutral attacks. Neutral has no advantage over any other element, but it also has no elemental weaknesses.

After you choose your elemental alignment, you'll be asked to choose two magical techniques. The first will have an elemental alignment as well, and will be an offensive move. If you chose Weaponary, your options will be single-target hits that can deal tremendous damage if executed correctly. If you chose Brawler or Spellcaster, your options will be multi-strike techniques that, with good timing, can hit your target up to five times (similar attacks used by other characters can do this too!). In either case, the only real question is, what element do you want this attack to have?

Your final selection will be your support technique. No matter what your previous choices were, you'll always have the same five options.

Total Relax: This heals all party members, and if you tap the Magic Button when the ring reaches the white area in the circle, it will also switch everyone to defensive position until their next turns! A very useful technique for those who like to outlast their opponents. This spell heals each character for 1/4 of their HP, rounded down.

Life Light: Rapidly tap the Magic Button to fill the meter and increase its healing power. The downside to this technique is that you cannot use it on yourself, so it's completely useless when you're flying solo.

Magic Hat: Channel the spirit of a nameless Pharaoh to protect yourself from harm! (I'm also a Yu-Gi-Oh! nerd, shut up.) Press down on the arrow keys or joystick at the right moment to nullify all damage to your character until the start of your character's next turn.

Reflect Mirror: You'll be tasked with pressing five buttons/keys in sequence in a limited amount of time. If you succeed, a magical mirror is created that will reflect a single projectile back to its user and double the damage it would have dealt to you! The mirror will disappear after one full turn, or if it does its job.

Trap Box: Press down on the arrow keys or joystick when the meter has filled to create a trap in the space in front of your character for a full turn. Any enemies who step on that space to attack you will be damaged instead!

After all of the important stuff is out of the way, just pick your character's name (I went with "White-Hat"), and you're good to go! If you're wondering what my build is for this walkthrough, I chose Brawler, Natural, Clover Cutter, and Total Relax.

Now it's time to enter the magical world of TOME!
First Login: The White Hat Hacker Hits the Scene!
The first area you arrive in will be a Balancenter within the Zen Hub, the central area of TOME. Four NPCs surround the entry point, though they don't really have a lot of terribly useful information. One is supposed to tell the time, another tells you the date, yet another tells you which teleports lead to which areas, and the last one just names and describes the area you're in. Talk to some of the other players if you like- it's useful if you want some lore or to get early hints for upcoming objectives- and then head to the Telepillar with the green tiles around it. But as you do, someone calls out for you to wait for them...

Enter Alpha! He will be your first companion. As the two of your converse, you'll have different chat options to select, but I don't think they have too much of a bearing on the overall story. Sometimes your choices will have immediate consequences, such as whether or not you get to fight other players, but I'll let you know as they come up. Anyway, you and Alpha will form a party and then be "ambushed" by his friend Kirbopher. I use quotation marks because, well... it's not really much of an ambush if you're screaming at the top of your lungs, is it?

Time for your first battle! There are no consequences for losing here and no rewards for winning either, so feel free to skip this little bit of the walkthrough if you like. Kirbopher is aligned with the Technical element, so that makes him resistant to Crystal attacks, but weak to Natural attacks. He won't deal a significant amount of damage to Alpha, but if your character is Crystal-aligned, Kirb's magic attacks will HURT because of their Technical alignment. If you chose a Natural attack during character creation, use it to deal heavy damage to Kirbopher. If you chose the Crystal attack, don't bother with it for this one. Whatever you chose, though, alternate between magical and physical attacks to keep your MP up while dropping Kirb's HP. He's not a terribly difficult fight even if you don't know what you're doing.

After the battle will be another conversation, then Kirb will head to the next area. Follow him (you can stop at the sign with the bird creature Tsuntori perched atop it for a visual guide of the controls and a dumb pun based in Japanese) and go through the cutscene for some additional story. You'll find Flamegirl speaking with one of the game's mods about some troublesome players pulling weird stunts, but the mod is unable to really do anything without proof or reports from other guilds. The best he can offer is to keep an eye on these players. Following some more exposition, Flamegirl will take off to deal with another problem, and Kirb will offer to give you a brief tutorial of battling in TOME. You don't have to take him up on it, but if this is your first time playing the game, I highly recommend going for it because it's one more battle you can use to practice your button-pressing. Sounds silly and a bit sarcastic, but I'm actually being 100% serious here. After some practice, you'll get the hang of turning physical attacks into multi-strike combos, and you'll begin mastering your various magical techniques. You especially want to practice with Alpha's "Orion Shield" technique. The easy part is filling the meter and getting those two strikes in. The HARD part is getting Alpha to catch the darn thing when it comes back so he can use the "Shield" part of the technique's name. It takes some practice, but it IS possible. After the tutorial, Kirb will take off to help Flamegirl and you and Alpha can go do some exploring of your own.

In the next area, you'll find a little village with a healing station (it's the big hot tub that Alpha points out), a save point, and a couple of NPCs. Talk to them if you like, but definitely hit the hot tub before moving on so you can warp back to it if you are defeated in battle. The enemies you'll find here are called Foliroach. They're Natural-aligned, so Alpha's Vulcan Fist attack is super effective against them. Fight 'em and earn yourself some money (called Netti in this game) and maybe a few items if you like. They're stupid-easy to beat. Just be careful as they can inflict the Flower ailment on you!

You'll meet and fight a few other players along the way. Once you're close enough, they immediately challenge you to a fight. Make sure to use your Scan ability to check their elemental alignments! Make a habit of checking for ailment immunities as well! You won't have to worry about this right away, but trust me, you will soon enough. The first of these is a lone swordsman. He's not really difficult to beat. Stick mostly to physical attacks and keep trying to master the Orion Shield. Once you beat him, open the treasure chest behind him for a Crimson Fruit and 5 Netti, then step onto the telepillar to warp to the next area.

You'll be ambushed by two more players almost right away. One of them is Natural-aligned, so knock his block off with Alpha's Vulcan Fist. The other guy is Neutral, but he's also a Brawler so he can land multiple hits when he uses Strike. Focus on the Natural dude, and once he's down switch to the other guy until he falls too.

There's a new enemy here called a Ballug. They actually have a pretty funny weakness: If you block when they curl up and try to bowl you over, they'll bounce off of you and land on their backs, and they'll have to use their next turn to right themselves.

Eventually you'll encounter a kid who walks across your path... from out of bounds. When asked about this, he panics and runs off. Give chase into the next area! There will be a fork in the path, so head down to find a treasure chest. You'll eventually encounter the archer kid again, along with one of his two companions. Once the lovably over-the-top Nylocke appears, they'll run away again. When Nylocke leaves, follow the path left, up, and around to find a chest. But there's a nearby secret! From this chest, head southwest to a hidden path! There's a chest with 50 Mystery Bags inside. The new enemy here is the Sixteenbeet. The most annoying thing about these guys is how fast and unpredictable their movements are on the overworld, but they're pretty weak otherwise. Head back and follow the path Nylocke took and fight the next set of players. One is Crystal-aligned, and the other is Natural. Be careful of the latter's Counter Cut! If you try to attack him at close range, he'll damage you instead!

Two more players await you in the next area, an Infernal and a Technical. They'll mess with your stats, and the Infernal can curse you, so be on guard! After you beat them, look for a treasure chest hidden behind a large mushroom as it contains two Heavenly Chimes! Fight another player, hit the hot tub in the village, grab the three treasure chests, and save your game. Head to the next area, nab another chest, and confront the Trouble Makers!

-BATTLE ON!-

Meet the Trouble Makers: Rockoon, Archy, and Skeight. They're no ordinary players as they have hacked their Strategize menu to be able to execute scripts that let them cheat in the game. They can make themselves untargetable, or they can paralyze Alpha. Use the Debug function to deal with these shenanigans.

And that's the REAL victory condition of this battle. Use Debug each time they try hacking the game, then attack Archy and Skeight once you can target them. Whenever you use Debug, you'll have to play a minigame stylized after old arcade games like Pong, Frogger, or Space Invaders. Debug a third hack and Rockoon will try to hack YOU... and fail. The Trouble Makers then flee from the battle!

After the battle, Kirb and his guildmates will arrive to confront the Trouble Makers again, but they log out before anything can really be done about them. After this, Flamegirl will invite you and Alpha to join her guild, the Dandy Alliance. Congratulations on completing your first romp through TOME! But don't let your guard down. From here on out, the battle is on!
Old Friends, Bitter Rivals
A new day, a new adventure! The hacker checks their email, but bear in mind that replying to one will cause the game to send you into TOME, so hold off on that if you want to read all three emails. When you're done, reply to Alpha's email to log in to TOME. Talk to the other players in the Zen Hub (there's always something interesting or useful to glean from them), then use the Edodes Woods telepillar to meet up with Alpha and Kirb. After a brief conversation, both of them will join your party.

Follow the path, open the treasure chest for a two Crimson Fruits (basic healing item), and hit the hot tub so you can warp back to it in case you lose a battle. Save your game too! There's another chest with two Mana Twinkles in it (basic MP restoration). In the next area, you'll fight a couple of players and Kirb will continue giving tutorials. The animalistic player is Crystal-aligned, so use Kirb's Technical attacks to take him down quick. The other is Neutral, but she has a Natural-based attack that can deal significant damage to Kirb, and which hits all opponents.

After the battle, take the leftmost path to a small village. There are two treasure chests here, and one is partially hidden behind a house. Behind the OTHER house, however, is a mysterious cube item. Grab it, then head back and take the other path to the next area.

In the next area, take the upper path to a treasure chest, then follow the lower path around to another pair of players. In this battle Kirb will teach you about status ailments. The Infernal player can Curse you, which deals damage to the affected character at the end of each of their turns, for the next three turns. The Natural player will hit your character with the Flower ailment. All you can do is single-hit Strikes, Defend, and Scan for the next three turns. Focus on the Natural player and use Alpha's Vulcan Fist against her, then take out the Infernal player.

When you reach another fork in the road, follow it to the right to find a treasure chest. Go back and go left to fight two more players. These guys are Crystal and Technical aligned, and this battle will teach you about the Paralyze and Encase ailments. Paralysis lowers your speed and defense, and has a chance to skip that character's turn. Encase just outright skips the affected player's next three turns, but they can be broken out of the ice if an enemy hits them with a close-range attack. Like with Cursed and Flower, these ailments last three of the affected character's turns.

Use Kirb's Technical attacks against the Lovecraftian player to take them out quicker. If you have a Natural attack, use it against the guy in the purple armor. After the battle, nab the chest for another Heavenly Chime, then head to the next area for a bit more dialogue, then hit the last telepillar to go to the Edodes Woods hub area to meet up with Flamegirl and Nylocke.

Flamegirl will give you the rundown of the first regional event of the Campaign of Champions, as well as why the guild has been having so much trouble. Nylocke will volunteer for a solo mission, so Flamegirl will join your party and take you to Jacksonii Jungle.

Once you arrive, Flamegirl will give you four Power-Ups and you'll be given the opportunity to learn how to use them. I suggest taking the tutorial, but for a quick rundown here: Power-ups are color-coded, and often give stat boosts. Green numbers indicate an increase in that stat, while red numbers indicate a decrease. All characters also have two utility slots that hold the purple Power-Ups. You'll find some that give you immunities to status ailments, others which decrease the cost of your magic, and all kinds of others. Hit up the Equipment Stall and give your new Power-Ups to yourself and Alpha, then head to the left to grab a treasure chest and use the save point. Finally, head back left and down to go to the next area.

Hit the healing station and then go on. You'll find some treasure chests here, as well as some ant-like enemies that are Infernal-aligned. They'll try to drag you into battle by jumping at you, but they always jump at where you ARE, so just move out of the way to dodge 'em if you don't feel like fighting them. Be sure to check both branches of the path to get the treasure chests before fighting the next set of players. The running fox is Natural-aligned, and the creepy one is Crystal. Use Alpha and Flamegirl to take out the runner and have Kirb go after the other one. There's a treasure chest beyond these players with a Power-Up inside.

Don't hit the Telepillar just yet, though! There's a stone path beyond it that leads to another treasure chest with another Power-Up inside. Grab it, then head back to the telepillar.

In the next area you'll be introduced to Pawneeko the traveling merchant. Stop by and pick up some items if you like, then head down to the ruins-like area. Explore it and grab all the treasure chests you can. There are two sets of players to fight here. The first is a team of all Natural-aligned players, so have Flamegirl and Alpha deal out the brunt of the damage. Take out the cactus dude first because he can inflict Paralyze. The cloudy boy should be next because not all of his attacks are Natural, and he can deal some heavy damage. Keep an eye on Kirb, though. Since he's a Technical element, these guys can deal some big damage to him.

The next set of players has one Neutral, one Crystal, and one Natural. Have Flamegirl and Alpha take out the tornado-ape (Natural) while you and Kirb try to get rid of the big bug (Crystal). Be careful, though! He can enshroud himself in a mist that freezes any character that tries to attack him at close range! The ghost cat can also turn herself invisible, making her immune to damage for several turns.

The next area has a treasure chest, a healing station, an Equipment Stall, a cutscene, and another set of players to fight. Take out the Neutral character first because she can heal her party members for around 15 points. Help Kirb take out the Crystal character as well since he can Encase your party members. Leave the little guy for last. Go back to the healing station, then grab two more treasure chests before moving on.

This next area is a tricky one because there are some enemies that are disguised as environmental elements. The ones that will attack you have black outlines. Steer clear of them if you don't want to fight them. There's a treasure chest in the top-most corner of the main area. Grab it then maneuver your way to the next telepillar.

The next area consists of several ruins and contains two treasure chests (one is partially hidden from view behind that first archway), a friendly NPC, a healing station, and an Equipment Stall. The area after this one has a save point. USE IT. There's an extremely tough battle coming up, so you may also want to grind for some Netti and go back to see Pawneeko as well.

When you reach the end of the area, your party will be blocked from claiming a relic by the Cast 'O Dreams. Who then proceed to pick a fight with the Dandy Alliance.

-BATTLE ON!-

Not only is this the boss fight of the chapter, but you'll also be learning about Team Attacks. Hope you have plenty of Heavenly Chimes handy because you'll need them! Saturndiva can team up with Snowwhyti to deal a devastating Crystal-based attack that hits everyone and can instantly knock out Flamegirl. Asterologist and Sniperyda can also team up for a Crystal-based lance attack against a single player. Team Attacks take up both players turns, which is supposed to be the offset to their power level.

Diva is a Technical element, Snow is Crystal, and Sniperyda and Asterologist are both Neutral. Take out Snow first to prevent any further team-ups with Diva, then focus on Sniperyda. Both Diva and Aster can put up barriers that reflect projectiles, so watch yourself. Diva should be your third target. It's a hard fight, but you can win!

This battle signals the end of the chapter.
Tales of the Terrain: The Mystery of Luteus Labyrinth
You'll be teaming up with Nylocke in this chapter. He's a Crystal-aligned Weaponary. One of his magical attacks strikes at all opponents at once, while the other can potentially deal heavy damage to a single opponent and has a chance at freezing the target. He's especially helpful to have around if you're fighting Infernal opponents.

When the chapter begins, the hacker goes to a website called D-Buggers, where other hackers congregate and talk. The message they read is from someone who has figured out a few tricks of their own, but then got hit by some particularly nasty hacks. After that, the White Hat checks their email.

Before embarking on your next mission, Nye will give you a tour of the town and show you the important stuff. You won't be able to access the arena just yet, but you should definitely go to the Training Dojo to acquire a new technique. The Dojo Master will let you try out all of his techniques beforehand, so practice with each one before choosing the one you like most. I recommend getting either Bomb Rush or Twisty Top. The former lets you throw up to eight bombs at random opponents, while the latter can inflict up to seven hits against a single opponent. Once you've made up your mind, fight the Dojo Master, win, and learn your new trick. When you're done here, pay the shop a visit to top off your supplies, then use the Equipment Stall to rearrange your gear, and finally head to the telepillar in the middle of town to embark on an epic quest with NNNYLOCKE! DRAGON OF THE COLD STEEL!

Nylocke will offer to tell you the history of TOME. Well, the in-game history, anyway. It's actually quite entertaining, and somewhat informative, at least when it comes to explaining the lore of the game and its mechanics. After this, follow the path to the next telepillar and grab the chest before warping to the next area. Here, follow the path to another chest and then to a trio of Infernal players. Nylocke and your new ability should make short work of them. I recommend taking out Doctoragon first because of his healing capabilities.

After beating those Infernal players, navigate through the giant lilies carefully because two of them are actually monsters in disguise. Remember, look for the black outline! Grab the treasure chest at the end and warp to the next area.

The NPC at the start of the next area will give you a hint about how to discover the secret of this area. If you're having trouble, here's another hint: Ramps you can go up on will have tufts of grass at the bottom. If you don't see that, then you aren't actually at the bottom of the ramp. Anyway, continue ahead and fight two more Infernal players, then go up the right-most ramp and navigate around these giant lilies, taking care to avoid the disguised monsters, as a chest with a Power-Up inside awaits you at the end. Head back and grab the other treasure chest hidden behind the lily in the left corner, then go to the other ramp.

See those three treasure chests? Now see how that ramp doesn't have any grass at the bottom? Yeah, that's what I was talking about earlier. There's a way to get to those chests, but it's on the other side of the area, so follow the path until you're ambushed by a disguised enemy. There's no way to avoid it, unfortunately, but it's not a difficult fight. Head down the next ramp to a hidden area that leads to the three treasure chests you saw earlier. Loot 'em, then head back. Go all the way down the yellow path for another chest, then continue onward to a pair of Neutral-aligned players. Take 'em out and move ahead.

Use the healing station here, then hit the Equipment Stall to see if you'd like to make any changes to your or Noe's gear (you should equip that Bronze Pendant for a little extra Netti after each battle), then save your game. Navigate around some more stink flowers (and fakes!) to find a couple of NPCs and Pawneeko the traveling merchant. Buy some items if you like, then go get ambushed by a couple of players. Kaptainman is a Crystal element, while Fulgurren is Technical. If you have an advantage, make use of it to take one out quickly. In either case, just focus on one, then take out the other. There's a treasure chest hidden behind a cluster of mushrooms after these guys, so nab it and then warp to the next area.

In the next area, however, will be a boss battle of sorts. You and Nylocke will be challenged by the Infernal Demonking! He's a tough one too. I think you can avoid the fight... but where's the fun in that? Hit him with your new technique (unless you chose the Natural attack) and Nylocke's Stalagmite Stab technique. Demonking is immune to Encase, so you'll just have to focus on dealing damage. Be sure to replenish your MP whenever you can to keep up the pressure, but don't forget to heal yourself as well! Demonking has a whopping 200 HP, so he'll take a while to beat, but he CAN be beaten!

If you lose, Demonking will revive you both. But if you win, he'll tell you the secret of Luteus Labyrinth. Before you do anything, though, it would be wise to return to the previous area and use the healing station. After that, head to the Lost Woods labyrinth and heed Demonking's instructions for taking the secret path. (In case you get lost, just follow the footprints on the ground.) If you do, you'll meet T-Bones and Grounda, a pair of dino-themed players. Use your dialogue options to pick a fight with them, because victory will net you some new Power-Ups!

Grounda is Infernal-aligned, so she'll be easiest to beat first. You absolutely want to take one or the other out as quickly as possible because the two of them have a deadly Team Attack. Focus on Grounda using Nylocke's Stalagmite Stab and your own non-Natural attacks. Once she's down, you can work on T-Bones. Once the battle is over, check behind one of the farthest treasure boxes for another mysterious cube, then head back out. You'll be taken back to the start of the maze. Reenter, and this time follow the forest sprite. If you get caught in battle, don't worry because the sprite will reappear once the battle is over.

At the end of the sprite's path, you'll find a friendly NPC, a save point, and an Equipment Stall. Take advantage of the stall and the save, then proceed to the final area of the maze where you'll find... Trouble.

-BATTLE ON!-

You'll be joined by a new character, Gamesoft, whom you briefly met when you first arrived at the start of the maze. She's Neutral-aligned and has some powerful abilities. However, your opponents are the Trouble Makers, and Rockoon has a new trick up his sleeve: He's taken advantage of a glitch in the game itself to fuse with the Shadowbeast mini-boss. No hacking required either. While he's in this state of flux, you'll be unable to damage him. You'll have to Debug him, which will lock him into either the Shadowbeast or his own body. When you do, you'll have to press the down-face key in time to lock him down.

However, don't be intimidated by the Shadowbeast or Rockoon's glitched-out fusion with it. Instead, focus on taking out Skeight because he has a type advantage over Nylocke. Make use of Gamesoft's Reprogram ability to turn your enemies into Flowers, take out Skeight, and then focus on either Archy or Shadow/Rock. I recommend Archy because his Star Arrow attack deals a lot of damage, and seems to ignore defensive positions.

When the battle is over, Rockoon will put two and two together and figure out that you're a White Hat hacker, which is how they lost. After they peace out, Gamesoft will also leave, but fortunately, this won't be the last you see of her. Nye will receive a message from Flamegirl and the two of you will head back to Versicolor Village. It turns out Flamegirl found the last relic you guys need to enter the regional event! WOO! Save your game and come back for the next chapter!
Secrets of Edodes Woods - Enter the Slime Siblings!
Log in and head to Edodes Woods. You'll meet up with the guild in Versicolor Village, where you'll learn that Alpha, Kirb, and Flamegirl have all learned new techniques! Alpha can now use the Poseidon Wave, a Crystal-type attack that hits all enemies. Kirbopher now has Defibrillators, which can revive a fallen ally in combat. Flamegirl can now call up a Campfire which will heal your party for several turns. Flamegirl will take you to Chief Bitopio's castle to register your guild for the event.

Once you're in the castle's courtyard, you'll see a LOT of other players. A few you'll recognize as players you've fought already, but there are also several that you'll fight later on in the next area. Not really important now, but I thought it fun to mention. Flamegirl will get the Dandy Alliance registered, and then you'll have the rest of the day to do pretty much whatever you want. You might notice Pawneeko rockin' that yin-yang style in the corner. This one only sells two items, and both are really expensive: A Rainbow Cube (1000 Netti) and a Power-Up that makes its user immune to all status ailments (6000 Netti! WTF!). Probably not worth it to try to buy 'em, though.

If you didn't learn a new technique from the Dojo in the last chapter, go do that NOW. Once again, I recommend getting either Bomb Rush or Twisty Top. There's another Pawneeko in the village who sells Power-Ups. I recommend farming some cash at the arena, which I'll cover in more detail in a moment.

Near the town's save point is a player by the name of Completeboy. He'll give you some hints as to the locations of several Rainbow Cubes hidden throughout Edodes Woods. If you've been following this guide, you'll have already picked up two. Just in case, however, I'll list the locations here.

  • Fimicola Field -> Sector A: In the final section, near the last telepillar
  • Repandum Riverside -> Sector Z: Behind a mushroom house
  • Luteus Labyrinth -> Sector M: Behind a treasure chest at the end of the hidden path
  • Jacksonii Jungle -> Sector K: In the final section, partially hidden behind some ruins
  • Jacksonii Jungle -> Sector S: Lower floor, between some stone blocks

In the meantime, you might as well go through each area and grab any treasures you missed on your initial runs. You can also head to the Battle Arena to do battle against players you've fought against in the woods. You can go solo, or you can recruit other members of the guild to join you. Get a party and equipment setup you like going for you and then challenge Dangerous Species. They drop 26 Netti upon defeat, the most out of anyone you can fight at the arena. I recommend bringing Alpha, Kirbopher, and Flamegirl. Alpha and Flames can handle Sunwulong while you and Kirb take out Scorpiocite. None of the other fights are really worth the effort since Dangerous Species gives you the most moolah. Also, don't worry about conserving MP. Everything refills automatically after the fight is over, so go ham on your enemies!

There are two sections that are worth mentioning that you haven't explored yet: The first is Luteus Labyrinth, Sector R. This place is home to Muscaria Mansion, which is infested with enemies called Sumthindarq. It's a pretty brutal side-quest, and not really worth attempting at this stage as the Sumthindarqs can deal a lot of damage even when blocked, and they tend to gang up on you, forcing you into back-to-back battles. Sure, you only ever fight one at a time, but at this point, that's more than enough to get your face beaten in, even when defending properly. Best wait until your next free-roam day.

Buuuut, if you DO decide to take on the mansion, here are couple of things to know: First, while Sumthindarq itself is Neutral, all of its attacks are elemental. Problem is, the elements are randomized each time the creature attacks, so be sure to guard every time! Second, Sumthindarq can actually disappear and reappear on the map, and they ALWAYS show up close to where you are, sometimes even right on top of you. This is what I meant when I said they gang up on you. Fortunately, there are a finite number of them on each floor. Make sure you give your best gear to your character, with a focus on your Defense and Magic Defense stats. Having "Health Plus" and "Magic Minus" can make things easier as well. I think the best class for taking on the mansion early is Brawler, but only if you have the Total Relax technique. Together, these two can help you outlast every Sumthindarq that attacks you, even if you have a weakness to one of their attacks. Otherwise, either max out on restorative items, or just wait until your next free day.

There's treasure on every floor, starting with the 2nd. Grab each chest as you reach every new floor. The 2nd floor chest contains a "Gold Pendant" Power-Up which increases your post-battle Netti by 3. Floor 3 gives you a "Magic Minus" which reduces the cost of the equipped player's spells by 1 MP. The 4th floor will give you "Reaching Zen", an incredible Power-Up that makes its bearer immune to ALL status ailments! The final floor has a Rainbow Cube, which will seem... underwhelming. However, the cubes are related to a hidden boss battle, so just bear with it, I guess. On the far wall is a not-so-secret passage which will take you outside behind the mansion itself.

The other section to note is Jacksonii Jungle -> Sector S. Not only is another Rainbow Cube hidden here, but there's some nifty treasure AND a hidden hacker battle. Give yourself the "Bronze Pendant" and "Health Plus" Power-Ups and then head to Jacksonii Jungle -> Sector S.

There's only one way to go when you enter the area. As you move forward, you'll see a couple of other players walk across a body of water, and our little White Hat will use their own skills to do the same. Walk to the top-most corner of the reservoir and go down the stairs that you find there. Go all the way around to the other side and you'll find the Rainbow Cube that Completeboy mentioned. Nab it and head back to where the hackers disappeared and use the telepillar. Move along to the next telepillar to a third area where you'll find your quarry. Pick yourself a fight and get ready to do some hacking!

-BATTLE ON!-

Doubling and Splat are both Neutral-aligned Brawlers. Doubling will disable your Strike ability while Splat will disable Magic. Don't worry about fixing that up just yet, though. Instead, hit 'em both with Input Lag so they can't beat you down with multi-strike combos. Be sure to use Debug to cleanup the code after each time, though! I used this battle to figure out what happens if you let code integrity drop to zero. The game performs emergency cleanup, but you now have a chance of your turn being skipped for the rest of the match.

With the slime siblings slowed down, you can now safely use Debug to free up your Strike and Magic abilities. Both of 'em can reuse their hacks to disable your abilities again, so take out Doubling first. This way you can keep recovering MP with physical attacks. If you took my advice and equipped Health Plus, then you'll pretty much be invincible for the rest of the fight once you're down to one opponent. Clean up the goop and you'll be awarded 151 Netti and a "Magic Minus" Power-Up, which reduces the cost of all your magical abilities by 1 MP!

After the fight, head upward and grab the contents of three treasure chests that await you at the end of the area: A "Cold Heart", a Lunch Box, and a second Bronze Pendant! WOO!

I suggest heading back to Versicolor Village and gearing yourself and few other party members up for some rounds at the Arena. Farm yourself some Netti from Dangerous Species and buy yourself some new items, such as Power-Ups from Pawneeko or supplies from the item shop.

When you're done, go into your menu and use the Log Out function to end the chapter.
Campaign of Champions: The Shadowbeast Strikes Back!
It's time to compete in the first regional event of the Campaign of Champions! Your email contains a confirmation letter of your guild's entry, a message from Yuno Hu, and a call to arms from Flamegirl. Once you're set, reply to Flamegirl's message and log into the game. Chat with the players in the Zen Hub if you like, but there's not really anything useful this time. Head to Edodes Woods to meet up with the Dandy Alliance. They'll be waiting for you in front of the telepillar to Chief Bitopio's stronghold. I suggest taking one last look at your Power-Ups when Flamegirl offers. Make sure everyone can play to their strengths, then head to the stronghold.

After a cutscene, you'll be instructed to reenter the telepillar, which will take you to a new area. Chief Bitopio will instruct you telepathically to approach the water and dump your relics into the river in the hopes of purifying the essence of Kajet the Shadowbeast to prevent its revival. It will go about as well as you'd expect.

Your first battle will be against one of the five Shadowspires that appear from the ground. It's Neutral-aligned, so it has no elemental weaknesses. Take it out with your best moves and your physical attacks!

Move up to a nearby telepillar. In the next area will be a treasure chest with two Mana Twinkles inside. As you cross the bridge, you'll be ambushed by more Shadowspires. Once again, you'll be solo-ing a spire. Use the same strategy as before and you should come out on top. Quickly, to the next telepillar!

There's a healing station, an Equipment Stall, and a chest with a Heavenly Chime inside in the next area. Truth be told, you're gonna lose Nylocke in a little while, so it's alright if he's not equipped with the best stuff. In a moment, you'll be attacked by three Shadowspires. Kirb and Flames will team up, while Alpha tags with Nylocke. You'll be on your own again, but you should be okay since you solo'd the last two spires you fight.

Nylocke will fall in battle, and since Alpha didn't revive him during the fight, he's out of the competition for good. Run back to the healing station and then press onward. Loot the treasure chest in the final area and then get ready for a PROPER boss fight!

-BATTLE ON!-

Kajet the Shadowbeast is a beefy boss with 300 HP. He's Neutral-aligned and immune to Flowering and Encasing, but he can still be Paralyzed and Cursed. He has a basic Strike, a multi-strike, an attack-all, a Curse attack, and an HP-draining attack.

Use Flamegirl's Dark Comet to lay a curse on him, and have everyone else hit Kajet with their strongest attacks. On her next turn, have Flamegirl build a Campfire. When you start running low on MP, have Alpha switch to Strike combos, and join him yourself if you chose Brawler class. Have Kirb use Mana items to restore the party's MP and keep Kajet cursed with Flamegirl's Dark Comet. Keep an eye on everyone's HP as well! This fight will go a lot easier if you don't lose anyone. Keep wailing on Kajet with your strongest magics and multi-strike combos and you'll take him down soon enough!

Once you've defeated Kajet the Shadowbeast, you'll be called back to Toadstool Towers. Take the nearby telepillar. Chief Bitopio will award all guilds with an Orb of Unity, which you can use to craft Team Attacks. Unfortunately, your guild is not the winner of this regional event... but that just means you'll have to compete in the next one, huh?

Next stop: Morganite Valley!
A New Quest Begins! The Raven, the Queen, and the Zircon
Hatty will pay another visit to the D-Buggers website and learn of a few new tricks, like swapping the Attack and Magic Attack stat values of players, then will check their email. Yuno Hu informs you that, while the Trouble Makers shouldn't be making any more trouble for the next three events, other hackers are filling the void they left behind in the wake of their victory.

Log into the game, and this time talk to the players in Zen Hub. One of them will tell you that Rockoon was almost never targeted by the Shadowbeast's attacks... well, that sounds familiar, doesn't it? Sounds like the Trouble Makers cheated at the end of the event after all. When you're done, head to the telepillar with the blue tiles around it to get to Chrysoberyl Kingdom in Morganite Valley.

Let me go ahead and inform you right now that there is a save point right next to the telepillar you appear on. It's just really hard to see because of the poor contrast between it and the ground.

Hit up the Dojo before you go anywhere and learn yourself a new technique. This dojo master deals in status effects. Four of them affect stats while the others inflict ailments. I don't really have a recommendation for this one, so pick whichever one you think will suit you best. (If you get "Berserk Frenzy", however, know that you can mash multiple buttons at once to fill the bar faster; and if you're on a gamepad, joystick movement counts too!).

Head to the other side of the city to meet up with the Dandy Alliance and watch the cutscene wherein Queen Rulerruby will task you with finding 10 gemstones (whilst referencing Steven Universe...). Your guild will be given a gem case to hold the ten gems. Flamegirl will lead you back to the city and tell you that the first of these gems can be found right there in Chrysoberyl Kingdom.

The party will split up to search for the NPC that will trigger the quest. You, Flamegirl, and Alpha will find Pawneeko in front of a house near the city's dojo who will drop a hint that "granite has many uses, don't you know...". The gang will work out where to go next quite quickly. Head up to the graveyard for the next part of the quest. You'll end up fighting against a living gravestone. It's a Natural elemental, and you really shouldn't have any trouble with it at all.

You'll get a Granite Granule for your trouble... which Alpha will promptly give to Ravenfreak, thinking that he's an NPC because of the green text. But he's no NPC and Flamegirl quickly works out that something is wrong. Head back down to Pawneeko and confront Ravenfreak for his theft. Make sure to select "Bring it on!" to challenge him.

Before engaging in the fight, Flamegirl will use the Orb of Unity with Alpha to create the "Vulcan Rocket" technique, both to prepare for the upcoming fight and to prove to Alpha that he's a valuable member of the Alliance. Head to the nearby telepillar to go to the outskirts of town so you can barbecue yourself a bird!

-BATTLE ON!-

As you may have gathered from the green-text-fiasco, Ravenfreak is another hacker. The very first thing he'll do is make a bunch of copies of himself. They'll die to a single hit, though, so Alpha can take them all out at once with the Poseidon Wave. Watch yourself as Ravenfreak will also have hacked the targeting system to redirect your other attacks to his copies. Debug the code to stop him from playing Traffic Cop with your hits and hit him with your Infernal attacks. If you can launch the Vulcan Rocket at him, even better!

Following his defeat, Ravenfreak will PRETEND to make a run for it, but he's only kidding and presents you with the zircon that he otherwise stole from you, and then he'll leave.

...however, a fight breaks out within the alliance, and things begin to fracture. The guild is still in one piece, but relations are strained now. Thus ends the chapter.
Mission at the Mountain: Gamesoft Returns
Hatty's email will have four letters: Two from Flamegirl, one from Nylocke, and one from Alpha. Flamegirl's first message is an apology to everyone, as well as details about potential locations for the remaining 9 gemstones. Her second message is a request for assistance in her search at Prehnite Peaks. Nylocke is asking that you join him at the Moonstone Mines, both to hunt for gems and to help him calm Kirbopher down. Finally, Alpha will ask you to help him make up for his mistakes these last few days. Pick whichever one you want, but this section will be covering the mission at Prehnite Peaks.

I recommend chatting with the players in Zen Hub today because you'll get some useful information about some of the monsters you'll encounter, then head to Chrysoberyl Kingdom and take the western telepillar to Prehnite Peaks to meet up with Flamegirl. There's a healing station, an Equipment Stall, and four chests with some new items in them: Elemental bombs. Each bomb you'll get from here deals damage based in their element. The Black Bomb, for instance, deals Infernal damage. These will come in handy, trust me. I suggest using the Equipment Stall as well. Make sure that both you and Flamegirl are immune to Encase because a lot of enemies up here can inflict that ailment.

In the next area, keep an eye out for two chests. One is hidden behind a large snow-covered spire, and only a small corner is visible. There's another chest nearby that's much more visible, and an NPC just a little further up, so you should be able to find it. It'll be on the left.

In the next area, you'll find Gamesoft, but there's a problem: She's being harassed by a player named Odboll. If you're at all familiar with the TOME webseries, you may remember how much of a perverted troll he was there. Well, this one's not much different. Team up with Gamesoft to put this punk in his place.

Odboll is a Neutral player with 120 HP. He plays very defensively. His Digit Barrier can reflect a single projectile before breaking, and he also can create explosive little underlings. If you don't kill them, they attack you, but if you DO kill them, they blow up in Odboll's face. Odboll also has a very dangerous attack-all technique called Digit Storm that can deal some seriously heavy damage. Try to stay alive and waste him!

After the battle, Flamegirl will mute Odboll, advise him to rethink his life, and reassure him that she'll be reporting him to the mods. After this, head to the next area where Flamegirl offers to let Gamesoft hang with you two for a while, and then dubs her "Softy". Softy will now be in your party for the rest of the mission!

Grab the nearby chest for a Power-Up, then head on. There are several more chests here, so grab 'em all whilst avoiding the monsters (if you want to avoid them, anyway), then head up the ramp to fight a couple more players.

Charcoal is, surprisingly, a Crystal-type while Axeena is, unsurprisingly, a Natural-type. Flamegirl can help take down Axeena pretty quickly. In the meantime, it might be best to have Softy Reprogram Charcoal into a flower. (You may encounter a visual glitch where the target's character model remains and a right-facing flower is placed over them in the same spot. While this WILL happen throughout Morganite Valley, it shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't flower them twice. It's just weird to look at. WARNING: If this happens to your party members, FLEE if you can, end it quick if you can't! Being flowered twice can soft-lock your game!) You shouldn't have any trouble from the Paul Bunyan fan club. Nab three more chests and then head to the next section.

You'll find three chests almost immediately, as well as three players ready to tussle. All three are Technical elements, so any Natural attacks will come in handy. Otherwise, do the best you can. Flamegirl's Campfire ability should come in handy here, and you should be able to use Softy's Reprogram technique to ruin their day.

Hug the right wall after the fight to find a chest with a Power-Up inside it. There's another chest up the ramp to open, and then a save point. Use it, then move on.

Flamegirl will explain why she needed help with this mission: You're hunting wabbits Cleartz. Remember what that one player in the Zen Hub told you? This is going to be the key to getting those gems. Get a Cleartz to change color, then defeat it to get a gem shard. Go hit up Pawneeko for some elemental bombs. You won't need any Black Bombs since you have Flamegirl in your party. If Hatty knows any elemental attacks other than Infernal ones, you won't need that element either. But you might not even need to do that since you should have one of each bomb in your inventory already from the very first area.

There's a healing station and an Equipment Stall at the topmost corner of this area. There's also a couple of NPCs in the left-most corner. Head to the northeast telepillar to get to the Cleartz grotto. Just make sure that you don't hit a Cleartz with any other elemental attacks after it's changed color. If you do, it will just adopt the NEW color it was hit with if it didn't die from the attack.

There are a LOT of Cleartz in this area, and four chests to loot as well. Each chest is located in one of the four corners of the section. The one in the southeastern corner is hidden behind the column of ice so it's impossible to see, but trust me, it's there. Once you have your four gems, Flamegirl will take you back to the previous area for a cutscene. Softy will then reveal that she has an item that can summon a monster which drops one of the rarer gems for the quest, so Flames offers to help her out. Hit the hot tub, then go to the eastern telepillar. Grab every chest you see along the way, then get ready for your first match-up against a four-man team!

These guys have one of each element, and it's pretty easy to tell which one is which. Have Softy turn the Crystal dude into a Flower, and focus your fire (figuratively and literally) on the Shovel Knight-looking dude. Take out the rest one by one as necessary, keeping an eye on your MP and using Softy's Reprogram to slow them down. Collect one more chest and head to the next area for a cutscene.

After the cutscene, use the save point and battle a couple more players, one Natural and the other Crystal. The Crystalline archer uses portal techniques, so be sure to use the appropriate attacks to bypass them. If a portal is on the ground in front of him, use long-range attacks. If a portal is floating in front of him, use close-range attacks. The next area has the summoning circle you're looking for, but it won't be so simple... and that's because of a new hacker and some old friends.

Dustbunny joins your party and cheats her way to victory, then tries to get the amethyst from you. The Cast 'O Dreams shows up when they hear the commotion... hoo boy, you're in for another doozy of a fight. And this time, they have a Black Hat hacker on their team, not that they realize.

-BATTLE ON!-

You'll be fighting against SaturnDiva, Snowhyti and Dustbunny. Remember that Sat and Snow are Technical and Crystal elements, respectively, and that they have that devastating Crystal-based Team Attack. Dustbunny is Infernal-aligned and she likes to hack her damage output so she can one-shot enemies. You're gonna be using a LOT of MP for this battle!

Have Softy IMMEDIATELY Reprogram Snowy into a Flower, AND KEEP HER THAT WAY, while you Debug Dustbunny's hack. The minigame for this one is Frogger-like. It's difficult, but doable, so good luck. You want to take out either Diva or Snow so they can't use their Team Attack. Keep an eye on Dustbunny too, because she'll try to hack her damage output again. DO NOT let her attack you while hacked! She'll one-shot you just like she did that boss! And watch out for that smog attack of hers because Flamegirl's Campfire will ignite it!

After the battle, Softy joins the Dandy Alliance! YAY!
Tales of the Terrain: At the Mines of Madness
The next mission I'll be covering teams you up with Nylocke and Kirbopher, not only to try and find two more gems, but also to help Kirb work through some of his anger from the fight he had with Flamegirl the other day. Once again, you don't have to do these in the order listed.

Chat up the players in Zen Hub to get another tidbit of useful info for the upcoming mission, then head to Chrysoberyl Kingdom via telepillar. Top up on supplies before you go anywhere, though, especially if you helped Flamegirl out previously. Afterward, head to the western telepillar to meet Nylocke and Kirb at the Moonstone Mines.

Remember the enemies that could disguise themselves as scenery in Edodes Woods? There are two such enemies in this region, and one of them lives here in the mines. The Ifreight makes its home in abandoned mine carts. It's best to avoid most of these overturned carts. Precious few are worth investigating as most just hold Ifreights.

Make your way through the mines, grabbing any treasure chests while ignoring ALL of the abandoned mine carts (they're all Ifreights). You'll encounter a four-person party, each member of which sports a different element. Help Kirb take out the Crystal player first because she can heal herself and her teammates. Work on the Infernal player next because he's a Brawler with a high ATK stat and can deal some big damage. The last two players are, of course, Natural and Technical, so take them out in whatever order suits you best.

Eventually you'll come across another of Nylocke's old adversaries... Serpentine! Armed with biting wit and a decent Tim Curry-esque voice, Serpentine will mock your party and hint that he has a gem before running away. Give chase, grab a treasure chest in the upper corner of a little loop, and continue avoiding the abandoned mine carts. You'll then fight a trio of players, at least two of whom are clearly references to Batman villains. The ones in the hats are Infernals, so Nylocke can hurt them good. Poison Ivy there is naturally Natural. As Nylocke says you're on a tight schedule (not really, that's just the story), so try to make short work of these three.

In he next area, you'll find Serpentine waiting for you at the beginning of a new form of combat: Racing battles! You'll need to be quick AND careful here. Follow the instructions presented as they come up to take the lead, and hopefully keep it. I don't think there are any consequences for losing, though, so don't feel too bad. However, victory will net you a Garnet gem! Serpentine runs away, but you'll find him again soon enough. Grab the treasure chest, use the save point if you like, and ignore the telepillar to the right (it takes you back to where the racing battle began), and proceed through the mines.

There are a three more chests in the next room, as well as a couple of players. One is Technical, while the other is Neutral. Take 'em out however you see fit and move on. The next area holds a cutscene and a moment's respite: Healing station, Equipment stall, travelling merchant, even some treasure chests, two of which are hidden behind and under scenery so they're kinda hard to spot. One is under the overhang just across the bridge, and the other is behind the crystal house. When you've rested, restocked, and reequipped your party, head into the next area of the mines.

The next area is quite the maze, but there are, finally, some carts worth inspecting. Ignore the one in your immediate chamber. Head to the left and check the mine cart here. Go northeast to the next chamber (ignore this cart), then southeast for another cart with treasure in it. Go northeast for two chambers for yet another worthwhile cart. Head all the way northwest, nabbing the treasure chest but ignoring the mine carts along the way, then all the way southwest (ignore this cart too). Proceed southeast and DO check the mine cart along the way. Go northeast, checking the next mine cart and the treasure chest at the end of the path. In the next chamber, you'll encounter a couple of players who challenge you to a battle. Accept the challenge and prepare for battle!

Thunderlinks is a Technical element while Hyperlynx is Crystal. Kirb should focus his own Technical attacks against Hyperlynx. Avoid using Nye's magic against Thunderlinks since it'll be a waste of time and MP. If Hatty has any Natural attacks, use 'em on Thunderlinks. Otherwise, stick to melee and heavy-hitting Neutral attacks. Watch out as these two also have a Team Attack! It's Technical and hits a single player. Victory will get you a (2nd) Garnet.

Go southwest and grab the two chests in this room, then spiral your way back to the east corner of the maze. Go all the way northeast to the north corner (there's a mysterious cube hidden in the south corner of this chamber), then head southeast. The cart along the way has treasure, and there's a chest as well. At the end you'll fight three more players, one Neutral, one Crystal, and one Natural. After you beat them, check the nearby mine cart for another Garnet.

You'll find yourself outside again and presented with a healing station and an Equipment Stall. Make use of both, as you'll probably be worn down and you'll have some new Power-Ups you'll want to try. The telepillar will take you to the next area of the mines, where you'll find a save point and a treasure chest. Inside the mines once more, you will find... Frank-N-Furter Serpentine!

-BATTLE ON!-

Heed Nylocke's warning regarding Serpentine's portals in this fight. A portal on the ground will send anyone who steps to him back to their starting square and inflict damage to them, while a portal in front of him will absorb any projectiles (like Kirb's Energy Cannon) and will heal Serpentine for the amount of damage those projectiles would have dealt.

Serpentine has some powerful attacks of his own as well. His Portal Punch really packs a wallop. What's worse, he's a Brawler-class and ALL of his hits do a TON of damage. Keep your health and MP up! Have Kirb alternate between his Energy Cannon and the Spark Taser, depending on portal placement. Serpentine is Crystal-aligned, so Kirb's Technical attacks will really sting him. You and Nylocke should alternate between dealing damage and restoring HP and MP. He's only got 200 HP himself, and with the three of you working together and fighting smart, you should take him down no problem.

After defeating Kilokahn Serpentine, you'll be treated to a very silly cutscene that showcases both Nylocke AND Serpentine having way too much fun as role-players. The best part of this is that it confuses the hell out of Kirbopher. You get the Diamond gem, and the cutscene continues with some pretty cool character development. Kirb has finally calmed down too. If you've been following this guide as it is written, only one mission remains! If not, head to the section of the guide covering whichever mission you wish to complete next!
Calamity in Chalcedony Canyon: The End-All Be-All - Beware the Breaker Beam!
The third mission you can undertake (again, in any order you desire) will be to help Alpha locate a Pearl gem in Chalcedony Canyon. Let him know you're coming, then log into the game. Talk to players in the Zen Hub to receive information about two additional scenery-style enemies, Mimiclusters and Killergraves. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a way to differentiate them from harmless treasure chests and gravestones without engaging them. You'll also learn about two solo competitors in the competition, the Karmic Blossom and the End-All Be-All. You may have caught a glimpse of the former in the first regional event. When you're done, head to Morganite Valley.

Stop by the shop and top off your supplies, then hit the Equipment Stall to reequip yourself and Alpha. When you're done, head to the eastern telepillar to meet up with Alpha at the canyon. When you get there, you'll find two treasure chests right next to the entry point, so loot 'em both and follow the path ahead to find Alpha... singing to himself? And the tune sounds familiar too.

After the conversation, head to the next telepillar. The treasure chest directly south of it is actually a Mimicluster! These guys are Neutral-aligned, but they can summon allies in battle. Watch yourself when fighting them! The chest BEHIND the telepillar, though is the real deal.

In the next area you will be immediately challenged to a fight. Ware is a Neutral-aligned Spellcaster with 80 HP. However, some of his attacks have elemental affinities. Try to take him out quickly and then move on. Suddenly a TON of other players come running at you!... and then past you... one stops only for a moment to tell you to run before taking his own advice. Then... HE appears.

This fight with Zetto is just for plot exposition really. Try whatever you want, but you're not going to be able to damage him. At the most, you may as well use this fight as an opportunity to refill your MP bar with physical attacks. Don't worry too much about your HP because... well, it's not gonna matter in the end.

After the fight, a woman going by the name Tigerlily appears and chases Zetto off, then revives you and Alpha. She'll join your party, then you should head up to the next telepillar.

Every chest in this next area is the real deal. There are also two hidden ones. One is partially visible behind some rocks in the east corner. The other is completely hidden behind a stone outcrop in the west corner. In the southern corner will be a fight with four players. All of whom are Technical elements. And your new friend? A powerful Natural-aligned Brawler. Like Tigerlily says, wipe the floor with 'em!

After looting the area and winning the fight, take the southern telepillar to a new maze-like area with several levels. Though the previous area's treasure chests were all genuine, not everything is as it seems in this section of the canyon! In fact, the very first chest out in the open is a Mimicluster! But just past it is a chest in a southern corner which is real. The one to the northeast along the edge, not so much. However, the chest that you see partially hidden inside the quarry is real and contains a Power-Up. Head back and up the ramp to the second level. Hidden behind the eastern wall is another treasure chest. The one just outside is real too, as is the next one you encounter on your way to the top. But both chests on the edge of the top level are Mimiclusters. Ignore 'em if you want, but go pick a fight with those players over there.

The green dude is a Technical element, so let Tigerlily handle him. The other two are Neutral. Head down the ramp, grab the chest, then back up. Yet another Mimicluster awaits you on this top level, so ignore it if you like and head down the ramp. Both chests you find on the edge of this second level are real, and there's another hidden just inside the cave. Move around a bit and you'll find a hidden path to the chest that you can see in the northern corner of the area. Come back down and head out to the first level again, but watch out for the Mimicluster waiting next to the ramp! The chest in the bottom corner is real, though, as is the next one up. That third one, however, is a Mimicluster. The space is narrow, but hugging the wall will let you avoid the fight if you want.

Three more players will challenge you to a fight. The magical girl and the pharaoh dude are Naturals, while their teammate is a Crystal. The Crystal player can create portals like Serpentine. The pharaoh can create a shield that prevents damage from one hit. The magical girl can set traps in front of her entire team that damage you every time you step to them. It's annoying, but not too difficult a fight. Take the telepillar behind them to the next area.

The next area has a short cutscene and a moment's respite. Equipment Stall, healing station, save point, Pawneeko, even three treasure chests! Two are hidden behind stone outcroppings, one near the entrance to the area, and the other near the telepillar to the graveyard. Make good use of everything here. Once you're rested and reequipped, take the east telepillar to the graveyard.

Check all the tombstones that are sparkling for some goodies. A few of the non-sparkly ones are Killergraves in disguise, but they're Natural-aligned so they're weak to Alpha's "Vulcan Fist" attack. With the right equipment, he can even one-shot them! Nab the three treasure chests in the area as well (all real) then go fight the players near the northern telepillar. Two are Infernal while the crow is Neutral. Use Alpha's "Poseidon Wave" to deal heavy damage to both Infernals at once. Have Tigerlily and Hatty use physical attacks on the crow guy to recharge your MP so Alpha can keep the waves coming. When you're done, take the telepillar to the next area.

The first treasure chest you see is real so loot it. The next one is on a raised platform, and while it's actually a Mimicluster, you HAVE to fight it to proceed with the game. After you win, you'll get a Pearl. And then Ravenfreak shows up with a couple of members of the Cast 'O Dreams, Sniperyda and Asterologist. It's another optional battle, but you get more money from fighting, so take 'em up on the challenge.

Remember that Ravenfreak is a Natural-aligned hacker while Aster and Sniper are both Neutral. Have Alpha focus on Ravenfreak while Hatty and Tigerlily take out Sniperyda. Ravenfreak may hack one of your characters with input lag, so make sure Hatty's ready to fix 'em up if it's one of your Brawlers. RF's hacking minigame is Space Invaders, but you can beat it by just rapidly tapping the fire button. Each descending raven will eventually fly right into your shots. The fight becomes incredibly easy once Asterologist is the only opponent left.

After the fight, Tigerlily reveals that she knows all about the secret area that Ravenfreak was talking about. Head back to the graveyard and look for the empty plot with a bunch of pale patches on it. That's the spot. Tigerlily will open up a staircase that leads to an underground chamber. Once you're down there, head over to the raised platforms to initiate a cutscene that triggers a boss fight in the same vein as Kajet!

-BATTLE ON!-

Ruri is a Crystal-aligned boss creature with immunities to all ailments except Curse. Alpha's Orion Shield also has little effect on it (only one hit), so don't waste your MP. However, Tigerlily's Sonic Screech DOES affect it, so use that to weaken its Defense. Ruri has a Technical-aligned attack called Piezo Field which inflicts damage to your entire party, and it can raise its Defense and MagDef with Ice Sheet. All in all, just focus on dealing as much damage as you can. It's not a terribly difficult boss fight in the end. Victory will net you a bunch of Netti, an Orb of Unity, and a Cat's Eye gem for Tigerlily... who will then give it to you because she already has one.

There's more, but, well, spoilers! And I'll see you in the next chapter
Reunite! The Dandy Alliance vs. the Trouble Makers
This one is actually going to be a pretty short chapter in terms of activities. Flamegirl is finally ready to talk to the other Dandies, so she sends out an email asking for everyone to meet her on the outskirts of Chrysoberyl Kingdom so that she can finally tell everyone the truth.

When you log in, chat up the players in Zen Hub and you'll learn that the Trouble Makers have been spotted in Morganite Valley. Once you're in Chrysoberyl Kingdom, you should hit the Equipment Stall so you can prepare yourself, Flamegirl, and Kirbopher for battle. I recommend making everyone immune to the Paralyze ailment, and focus on boosting Kirb's physical attack strength. When you're done, head to the eastern telepillar to meet Flamegirl and Gamesoft. Kirbopher will show up as well, but Trouble soon follows!

That's right, the Trouble Makers are at it again, and this time they've worked out a surprisingly solid entrance for themselves. Credit where it's due, I thought it was pretty cool. But compliments aside, this is STILL a battle, and they're still cheaters looking to take you down. Get ready!

-BATTLE ON!-

Despite their hacking abilities, this fight is still incredibly one-sided in your favor. Since this is such a short chapter, I'll just give individual character strategies to fill it out a bit.

...what? It feels empty is all.

White-Hat: Your character should primarily be on Debug duty. You can use other hacks if you like, such as hitting Rockoon with input lag (he IS a Brawler-class, after all), but it's not strictly necessary. Any time a hack is used, have Hatty debug it immediately. Otherwise, you can deal some extra damage or have Hatty refill the party's HP and MP.

Kirbopher: Kirb should mostly focus on physical attacks while occasionally supporting the party with items as needed. Have him go after Archy first. His Star Arrow is still his most damaging attack, so you wanna deal with that quickly. Speaking of which...

Gamesoft: Softy should also focus on Archy, and should use her Reprogram ability to turn him into a Flower. That will prevent him from using ANY of his arrows for three turns, so you can deal with him easily.

Flamegirl: Flames should focus on Rockoon since he's a Natural element and she's Infernal. Try to put a Curse on Rockoon with Dark Comet as soon as you can, then keep firing the Sun Gun at him. Have Flamegirl hit him with her magic every chance you get. If he's untargetable on Flamegirl's turn, have her use Campfire or attack someone else with Strike.

Once Archy and Rockoon are out of the way, lay the beatdown on Skeight. He's the reason I said you should make your party immune to paralysis earlier. He's not exactly a heavy hitter otherwise, being a Spellcaster. His Electro-Yo attack can hit the entire party, but it's still nothing to worry about.

And I gotta say that I don't think Archy deserves the beatdown that he'll be getting with this strategy, but like I said, his Star Arrow is dangerous. Still, I pity him. Skeight too, now I think on it; that was a pretty neat remix he put together.

As a reward for winning the battle, you'll receive an Orb of Unity. Alpha and Nylocke show up and the Trouble Makers log out (though I must admit that Skeight's joke about Flamegirl having "no chill" was pretty funny; if they hadn't gotten on her bad side, she might've laughed at that herself). Kirb explains why he flew off the handle, and then Flamegirl tells everyone why she needs that ten grand so badly. The whole thing will really tug at your heartstrings.

But good news! Your guild now has all ten gems needed to enter the Morganite Valley regional event! So the guild goes to register with Andeva, and the Dandy Alliance is united once more! And with a new member too: Starting from the next chapter, you'll be able to customize Gamesoft's equipment, and you'll gain a bunch of new techniques too! The next chapter will give you free reign over Hatty, so you'll be able to go exploring, earn yourself some Netti, go cube hunting, and even return to Edodes Woods if you need to do some backtracking! There's also an important new mechanic you'll finally have full access to, so stay tuned!
Theory of the Valley - Battle with Special Guests!
This chapter is all about preparation and item hunting, but it's got a pretty fun surprise waiting for you! For now, though, read your emails. You've got a confirmation letter of your guild's entry into the regional event, and Tigerlily has sent you some good news: Hackers won't be able to take advantage of Team Attacks in any way because it would be too complicated to actually hack them. The downside is that you won't be able to do anything with them yourself, but that's okay because the rest of the Alliance CAN, and you'll get some incredibly powerful abilities! And speaking of Team Attacks, Flamegirl wants to have a quick meeting in Chrysoberyl Kingdom before everyone goes off to train.

Chat with the players in Zen Hub if you like, then head to Morganite Valley. When you meet up with the rest of the alliance, you'll be happy to learn that EVERYONE has acquired a new technique! Toward the end of the meeting, you'll end up talking about the Orbs of Unity, and the party will agree that YOU should be the one to handle them from here on out. In fact, why not go ahead and use 'em? You've got four Orbs and five techniques to choose from. Pick whichever ones you want, but these are the ones I went with.

Ultra Generator: Now that Alpha knows Zeus Rage, he and Kirbopher can unleash a devastating Technical attack against all opponents!

Plasma Breaker: Kirbopher and Flamegirl create a plasma strike against a single opponent that deals its damage against the weaker of the target's defensive stats! Basically, it looks at both the target's Defense and Magic Defense, and the attack will deal physical damage if the Defense stat is the lower of the two, and magical damage if Magic Defense is lower.

Steamy Sauna: Flamegirl and Nylocke combine their elements to create a hot sauna that heals everyone for both HP and ailments.

Wonder Warcry: Nylocke and Kirbopher join forces to rally their comrades in arms, inspiring them to deal more damage both physically AND magically! In game terms, everyone's Attack and Magic Attack stats get raised by this Team Attack!

With that out of the way, let's do some exploring! First things first, you'll find Completeboy near the eastern telepillar. Chat him up to learn the locations of some more Rainbow Cubes! Just as before, I'll list them here.

  • Chalcedony Canyon -> Sector A: Far right corner of the graveyard.
  • Moonstone Mines -> Sector T: In the mineshaft maze, just out of sight behind a wall by the topmost shaft.
  • Prehnite Peaks -> Sector I: Past the summoning circle where you encountered Dustbunny.
  • Prehnite Peaks -> Sector G: Hidden behind some crystals by the giant crevice in the snow.

Now might also be a good time to tackle Muscaria Mansion in Edodes Woods. With the right gear, you should be able to handle all the Sumthindarqs no problem, so it goes from being "brutal" to "tedious". And while you only get a Rainbow Cube at the end of the quest, I think the Power-Ups you get are worth it.

Speaking of quests, go to the arena in the northwestern part of the kingdom and you'll find that Okra kid again who will mention getting massacred by Zetto's "Breaker Beam" attack before telling you that there's something strange at the East Wall area of the castle (you can get there from the west telepillar). There's a hole in the wall that leads down to a dungeon and possibly some kind of side quest. Go check it out and you'll meet someone who simply goes by "Prisoner". Not really sure what that's about.

Anyway, while we're in the vicinity of the arena, I should go ahead and let you know that farming cash here is going to be quite a bit easier than the last one. For starters, every team, with the exception of "One Big Ol' Buck" (who gives you 33 Netti), will give you 10 Netti for each member of their party. So you'll wanna hit the 4-player teams to get 40 Netti per victory.. I find the Sparkstronaughts to be the easiest ones since they're all Technical elements and I went with a Natural element and chose Clover Cutter for my first magical attack, while Kirb now knows a Natural attack as well. If you went with something different, you might have an easier time with one of the other two 4-player teams since they each sport all four elements. Build and equip your team appropriately and get to farming so you can purchase yourself a bunch of items.

By the way, there's an interesting little player standing outside the Chrysoberyl Kingdom dojo. He'll inform you that there might be something interesting in Sector G of Prehnite Peaks. Might be worth checking out, right? Head to Prehnite Peaks -> Sector G to find out what's what.

When you get there, you'll have a couple of mazes to go through. The first one isn't bad, and the second one is bigger but also not difficult. Navigate across a giant snowflake and then into another maze. THIS one is significantly harder because you can't see Hatty! You'll have to use the snow mounds on the roof of the caverns as a map to get through while doing your best to keep track of where you are. There are two "windows" on the sides so you'll be able to reorient yourself if you get close to them, and the exits are marked by a bunch of sharp blue crystals at the top. Fortunately there's no hidden treasures in here, at least none that I could find. When you make it through the maze, you'll be in the area the little samurai dude spoke of. There's a second telepillar on the west side that takes you back to Chrysoberyl, and the Rainbow Cube that Completeboy mentioned is close to the center of the crevice. You'll find Gaijingoom on the northeast side of the crevice. Y'know, now I think on it... this thing reminds me of Webmaster.

Anyway, Alpha and Kirb show up, and it turns out Kirb's got something of a... rivalry going on with the taller-than-average Goomba YES THAT'S WHAT HE IS! I mean, look at the shape of his head, the little upward fang, his feet, even his NAME, for goodness' sake! Well, they start arguing about what's really important in video games when our special guests arrive!

-BATTLE ON!-

That's right, folks, you're fighting against none other than the GAME THEORISTS! The ACTUAL Game Theorists of YouTube fame! That's really them! How cool is that?!

Gaijingoom is a Natural-aligned Weaponary. Mattheorist himself is a Neutral Spellcaster. Matt's wife Stephastream is a Technical Weaponary, and Auscientist is a Crystal Spellcaster. If Hatty has a Natural-aligned attack that damages, have them and Kirb team up to take down Stephastream while Alpha focuses on Gaijingoom with his Vulcan Fist attack. Auscientist might seem like an obvious target since he's a Crystal element and both Kirb and Alpha have Technical attacks (Alpha learned Zeus Rage at the start of this chapter), but leave him for last because he's not terribly threatening.

With no brawlers on the Game Theorists' team, defending against their physical strikes should be fairly easy, mostly. Mattheorist's Strike will fake you out if you're twitchy like I am. He'll throw his left fist toward the screen to show off that ring of his, and then he'll punch his target with the right hand.

Play to your party's strengths and you should have this fight in the bag! Victory will net you around 400 Netti and a "Health Plus" Power-Up, which heals its user for 1 HP at the start of their turn.

Well, the only treasure around here is the Rainbow Cube that Completeboy mentioned earlier... but I still can't help feeling that the giant ice crevice is shaped like Webmaster. I wonder what that's about? A child NPC near the shop in Chrysoberyl says they've heard stories about a monster made of glass that reflects the darkness of those it glares at, stealing their likenesses. Could be connected. But that's just a theory... A GAME THEORY!
Campaign of Champions: The Grand Glistening Ball
It's the day of the second regional event! Tigerlily sends you a warning that Zetto will be participating this time around, and some of the other guilds are being held back by the hackers in their teams acting as duds. Flamegirl also asks that everyone show up early, so reply to her and head into TOME!

There aren't many players to chat with in Zen Hub, but there is one guy who says that your guild was awesome in the last event and that he'll be rooting for you, so that's a nice little confidence booster! Head to Morganite Valley and meet up with the gang in front of Quartz Castle. You'll be given one more opportunity to optimize everyone's gear, so take advantage of it. Try to be ready for anything! If you're a Brawler, make yourself immune to as many status ailments as possible, Encase and Flower taking priority. If you're not a Brawler, then focus your protection on Alpha and make sure his ATK is beefed up.

Your Spellcasters are Flamegirl and Softy, but Flames should get the boost in Magic Attack, as I find Softy to be best used for inflicting or curing status ailments, or boosting other party members' Magic stats. Alpha should get a hefty boost in his physical Attack stat so he can do more than just 1 point per smack when using Strike. I think Kirb and Nye should be balanced. Your own stats should also reflect your build accordingly. When you're ready, enter the castle. After a bit of dialogue, Nylocke will shout my favorite of his catchphrases thus far ("NNNNYLOCKE! MASTER OF FANCY FOOTWORK!" Ha ha!) before wooshing off to "shake his money maker". No, seriously, that's how Nye himself describes his dancing when you bump into him again. You can talk to some NPCs and even a few of the other players, specifically Ravenfreak, Tigerlily, and Zetto. When you're finished, rejoin your guild.

Queen Rulerruby will eventually appear and Foreva will introduce all the competing guilds. The queen will then give a speech that... quickly takes a turn for the unsettling. She intends to feast on everyone's power!

...ah crapbaskets.

You find yourself dumped unceremoniously into a dungeon, with a window into a chamber holding Gamesoft. She tells you to search every corner of your room for anything that can help. "Corner" is actually a hint. Head to what would normally be the southern corner and head southeast along a hidden passage to another room with chest with a dungeon key inside. Nab it, head back and give it to Softy, who will then give you a numeric code for your door. Hatty will enter it automatically (it's not 5050, but 2020 backwards), and then proceed to the next area.

There's a treasure chest here, so loot it, then approach the glass wall. It takes the shape of Gamesoft, but it's NOT her! It's a glass monster that has stolen her likeness. The mimic is Neutral-aligned, so just hit it as hard as you can! The glass wall melts away and the real Gamesoft is waiting for you on the other side. She says she had to fight a weird copy of you. She'll join your party and the two of you will press two floor switches to open the door to the next room.

You'll briefly reunite with Alpha and Nye, who are trapped on a lower level. Alpha notices an indent in the wall and Softy takes you through an opening to another chamber to look for anything out of the ordinary. The room is completely pitch black, though, but Alpha figures the indent might be a map. Nylocke's booming voice relays instructions for navigating the darkness: Forward, left, right, right, left, and another right. The two of them will then move on ahead. Follow Nye's instructions to get out. You'll know you need to make a turn when you reached what looks like an illuminated corner.

In the next area, you'll be confronted by an NPC who calls themselves the Quiztal (like "crystal" but quizzical). They'll ask you ten questions and you must get five of them right. If you fail, the floor will open beneath you, plunging you to your doom! I'll provide answers, but put them in spoilers if you want to guess on your own. Don't worry, though, because you only have to answer five yourself. Softy's got the other half covered.

  1. Ruri
  2. Amethyst
  3. Mimicluster
  4. Chartreuse
  5. 80

I did NOT expect that last one. Head to the next room for a chest with 100 Netti inside, then move along to fight copies of Alpha and Nylocke. Flowerize ahplA and take out ekcolyN, then just use this fight as an opportunity to refill your MP with physical attacks. The real Alpha and Nylocke will be waiting for you upon your victory. Looks like they had to fight your copies too.

In the next room you'll be greeted by a drawbridge and four switches with musical notes on them. Kirb and Flames will be trapped one room over ready to give you instructions. Turns out you're basically playing Guitar Hero with this one. Well, more like Dance Dance Revolution for the characters in the game, but you get the idea. As each note reaches the space in front of your characters, press the appropriate button to hit it, playing the song and lowering the drawbridge. Grab the chest, fight some more copies, then reunite with Kirb and Flames to proceed.

The next room has a healing station, an Equipment Stall, and a treasure chest. Use the healing station, and the Equipment Stall if you feel the need, then loot the chest and proceed onward to the boss of the event. Oh man... I think I know where that giant crevice the Game Theorists were investigating came from now! It's the monster that kid next to the shop was talking about!

-BATTLE ON!-

You can pick any three party members to team up with you. Whoever you choose, know that Silicarnage is Neutral-aligned and is immune to all ailments, so focus on inflicting damage and staying alive. The boss will take on different shapes resembling your party members, and it has two attacks: Status Roar, which can inflict random ailments on your party (I only saw Alpha get cursed, so I'm guessing nothing happens if someone's immune to the ailment inflicted), and Elemental Explosion, which I believe inflicts damage of random elements. To actually hurt it, you'll have to damage the shield around its core first, but it's only 30 points. After that, you have to start wailing away. Eventually it will change faces and you'll have another 400 HP to deal with, and the shield will come back up. Break it down again and keep up the pressure while keeping your party members alive! Eventually, Silicarnage will crack!

After the fight will be the announcement of who won the second event. I think you can already guess who got it, and it ain't you. Buuuut, you get another Orb of Unity as a consolation prize, so there's that. Flamegirl is really upset, but she's no longer trying to hide it, indicating that she now trusts the Dandy Alliance far more than she did at the outset. Everyone logs out to get some rest. Two more regional events remain!
Welcome to Telluria City! - The Casino's Underbelly
A new day, a new challenge. Hatty heads to D-Buggers and learns about a few new hacks, such as changing the element of your basic Strike attack (there are Power-Ups that can do that, but this hack renders them more or less pointless for hackers), and someone else found a way to make blocking more effective so you take even less damage.

Read the email from Tigerlily (it's the 2nd one), then reply to Flamegirl's message and log into the game. Head north to the Telluria City telepillar to meet up with Alpha. Flamegirl's message mentioned that an event would be happening in Zen Hub, so Alpha's checking it out. Turns out that it's a speech from the Webmaster themselves!

Telluria City is populated by beings called Artificials. Robots, basically, though a lot of them seem to resemble household appliances. You can stop by the Dojo now or later, but maybe go meet with your guild now. The cutscene is given not by President Execk, but by his vice president, a robot by the name of Bincho. Hoo boy, now I know how Rockoon felt when he first encountered Nylocke. What an insufferable narcissist! And he's clearly not the smart kind either. (In my opinion, the smartest narcissists are the ones who still do what is best for everyone, even though it's only because "everyone" necessarily includes themselves.) This guy? Well, in the words of Daniel Craig, he is a "vainglorious buffoon."

Well, your first order of business is to acquire 1,000,000 (WTF!) Bincho Bucks, the new currency that Bincho wants used within Telluria. Like... dude, could you BE more obvious about your vanity? Give to Bincho what is Bincho's, I guess. Anyway, Flamegirl says there are a ton of ways to earn BB, as she calls them. After the meeting, Hatty logs out to check their email. Answer any of the ones that you get from the guild to take up that mission, same as the previous region. Go in any order you want, but I'm gonna go from top to bottom, so that means we're teaming with Alpha first.

Chatting with the players in Zen Hub will yield a potential clue about the casino where Alpha is currently stationed. It's all slot machines, apparently, but one player says he thinks it's a front for something else. Well, let's find out in a minute. Head to Telluria City and go to the Dojo to get yourself a new technique.

Now, I have to admit that I was expecting there to be at least one Technical technique available, but there's not. All of these are Neutral-aligned, and most have a sort of ruler-theme to them. All but one of the available spells costs 10 MP. Summon Tsuntori costs 8 MP and it's... interesting. If you successfully cast it, Tsuntori (the tutorial bird from Edodes Woods) will appear and attack a single opponent for three turns. But if you cast the spell a second time when Tsuntori has already been summoned, something... interesting will happen. I won't spoil WHAT, exactly, you should see it for yourself, but I WILL tell you that it results in an attack against all opponents.

The other techniques are all pretty cool too. Even the Slot Machine isn't as bad as it sounds! The drums are quite large, their symbols have the same order, and they move slow enough that you should be able to get any result you want. Plus you'll get three separate results instead of just one lump payout! Just avoid the skulls as those will damage you, but any other result is fine. The other skills are all useful as well, but if you don't have a healing technique, you should probably go with that since it heals a BUNCH of HP and also status ailments.

One more thing: You have IMMEDIATE access to the Battle Arena! You can use any Orbs of Unity you have if you like. You won't be able to battle anyone since you haven't fought anyone here in Telluria yet, but that'll change.

Anyway, now you should head to the Goldhattan Casino. Well, look at that, it's got Bincho as part of the sign... yeah, I like this bot less and less. There are four treasure chests in this area as well. Also a Rainbow Cube behind the southernmost lamppost. Don't forget about the nearby save point! Head into the casino when you're ready. You'll be greeted by Alpha, who apparently has learned a new technique! Hopefully we'll get to try it out soon!

There are two treasure chests in here, as well as an Equipment Stall and a healing station. You may notice that a lot of slot machines are sparkling as well. Check those to earn some free Netti. Finally, there's a player at the back who talks like a friendly bartender. Near as I can tell he's not a hacker, and he'll even gift you an item called Sacred Water, which fully restores the entire party's HP and MP. What a nice guy!

The next time you talk to Alpha, he'll give you some BB to try your luck at the slots, but this will trigger a battle against three enemies called 1arm. Depending on your setup, you might be able to take one out before they all blow up on you. If you survive, and there's no reason you shouldn't at this point in the game, go talk to the coin dispenser machine at the back of the room for a refund. They'll give you 5 BB, but then a mysterious Artificial wearing a cloak walks past you and tells you to check behind the posters. Say... wasn't that the vagrant from the wanted poster over on the left?

Go check the posters and Hatty will call Alpha over. They'll find a secret button, which you should totally press. No, seriously, press it. This takes you to the sub-level of the casino. Loot the chests and then work your way around past the Cyberoaches. Or just kill 'em. There are three Neutral-aligned players waiting for you at the end of the hall, but it's a great chance to test out Alpha's new attack! The Aeolus Twister is a Natural technique that strikes all opponents. If you fill up the meter, you do extra damage too! Simply move the joystick or press the arrow keys clockwise until Alpha launches a giant tornado!

In the next hall, grab the two treasure chests you see and challenge two more players. Both of them are Crystal, but just use whatever your strongest attacks are. Eliminate the man and then whittle away at the girl. Once her health gets low, she'll start eating Sugar Cubes that restore 14 HP. You can actually use this to your advantage. If you have a healing technique, have Hatty use it while Alpha recharges the party's MP with his combos. Eventually you'll be full up on HP and MP, so you can safely take her out with just Strikes.

Another long hallway with enemies and two players. One is Technical, the other Neutral. Take out the Technical player quickly because she has an attack that can a LOT of unblockable damage to one player!

The room beyond is the "real deal" that the vagrant spoke of! Your options are Slots... again... Roulette, and Blackjack, and you can use Netti instead of Bincho Bucks for these! Have some fun if you want, but don't blow all of your Netti. When you're done, try to leave... but you'll be blocked by Bincho! Crapbaskets! He'll be quite upset about people being unwilling to use his new currency, and he'll sick a giant robot on you!

-BATTLE ON!-

The Minimum Security Robot is Neutral-aligned and looks like something of a chimera. I'm guessing... turtle, mammoth, and snake? Anyway, it has a number of different attacks. The snake-tail can fire a projectile that can deal a significant chunk of damage, even when blocked. The mammoth(?) can fire rocket fists at you- I'm not kidding- and can encase you. The turtle seems to only have a paralyzing attack, but it's annoying all the same. Hit it with your most damaging attacks, but keep your HP up! It can take out anywhere from 10 to upwards of 20 HP with one attack!

Victory over the MinSecRo will get you an Orb of Unity! And Alpha will decide that spending all day staring at slot machines is going to make him go cross-eyed, so he should probably lay off of the blasted things. Probably a good idea... gambling's no good to anybody anyway, and Alpha was starting to act a LITTLE too excited about it.
Race to the Finish! Kirb Makes a New Friend
We'll be joining Kirb and Softy for this mission. Chat up the players in Zen Hub as well. You'll get a bit of lore regarding VP Bincho- apparently he was always written as a conniving usurper-type- and you'll get some helpful tips on some monsters you'll encounter. Head into Telluria City when you're finished, stop by the merchant next to the shop if you like, then take the east telepillar to Silva Isle.

Well, before you go there, let me remind you that you have access to the Battle Arena. If you need to farm some quick Netti, head there and pick fights with Luck 'N Wealth as they'll give you 100 Netti when you win. Just remember to set up your party and gear accordingly!

You'll meet up with Kirb and Softy will join you shortly. Both of them have learned some new techniques as well. Softy's Combat Disc can land a DEVASTATING critical hit if you press the magic button JUST before it hits the target (pretty hard to pull off, actually), and Kirb's new Turbo Booster lets him boost the Attack Power of an himself or an ally, and adds a boost to Defense as well if you press the magic button at the right moment (much easier).

Oh hey! Remember those zoomy wasp things from Edodes Woods? Now there's RED ONES! And they're still just as zoomy, so be extra careful if you want to avoid them and save your HP and MP for the more important fights. In actual combat, they're MUCH WORSE too! Sixtyfourbeets can deal far more damage than their sixteen-bit counterparts from the woods. Their Gatling Stinger attacks launch FIVE unblockable hits! If a character isn't already defending, that will HURT! There are two chests on either end of the yellow brick area where that first one is flying around, though. Grab those then make your way across the bridge to the next area where you'll get to fight a trio of players.

This is a particularly tough party as all three of them are Brawlers. The construction machine is Natural, for some reason, the armadillo is Infernal, which kinda makes sense, and the three-headed woman is Crystal, because why not at this point? She's your only guaranteed type advantage here. They're all heavy hitters too. Use status ailments with Softy if you can, but otherwise take 'em out one at a time. Focus on the tri-head first since she'll fall quickest with Kirb's help.

Thankfully there's a healing station right next to the entrance of the telepillar. Across the bridge will be a couple of treasure chests, 5 Netti hidden near some boxes (look for the sparkles), and Pawneeko. There's a 4-player party up ahead, and they are TOUGH. Lots of HP, and while two of them are Crystals, the other two are Naturals, putting Kirb at a severe disadvantage. If you're skilled with Softy's Combat Disc ability try to take out at least one of the Naturals, especially the one with the wings. He can launch said wings to strike all members of your party TWICE EACH for Natural damage. NOT FUN! Take HIM out quickly. Try to get rid of the cloud guy too because he can heal an ally for 80 HP. When you win, immediately backtrack to the healing station. Trust me, you'll need it. Stock up on items from Pawneeko too, then proceed to the next telepillar.

There's an Equipment Stall in the next area. Proceed carefully past the Sixtyfourbeets (there's a LOT of them!), and then move past the NPC you see in the alley. There's a chest hidden behind the bottom building with 3x Monster Bombs in it, and another chest further up with 150 Netti. You'll see a new enemy along the way called Bangaranger, which some players in Zen Hub mentioned. If you fight it, kill it before its countdown reaches zero or it'll explode!

The next area will have a brief cutscene where everyone talks about how they met everyone else and joined the Dandy Alliance. Grab the chest and move carefully past the Sixtyfourbeets and Bangarangers, then fight another 4-player team. This one has two Naturals, an Infernal, and a Technical. The Infernal is particularly troublesome because he's a Brawler-class AND because he can throw a bunch of fireballs in Brawler fashion.

There's an NPC in the next area who will take you to the start of the section if you want. There's also a 2-player team to fight. Both are Neutrals. One's a Spellcaster and the other a Brawler. Take out the Brawler first because he has the same kind of Natural attack as Kirb! After you beat them, use the Save Point, and then head into the race track! There's some NPCs over to the right you should talk to. One of them will let you build, name, and register your car. Kirb and Softy will construct the car, but you get to name it. I went with the F1-O.W.E.R. Another NPC manages driver's ed, which is basically the practice course. Tsuntori is there too, and she gives you info on the quick-time events you'll face. You'll only get to do it once, though. When you're finished, go talk to the gold robot NPC to get registered for the racing battle!

...which, unfortunately, will be against Dustbunny and Ravenfreak. Great... thankfully they don't appear capable of cheating in racing battles, so you should be able to beat them quite easily. And after you win, you'll be challenged by an NPC named Ute, who's been rumored to show up at times. Say... isn't that the vagrant from the casino? In any case, he's not terribly hard to beat either. Your prize for defeating Ute on the track is 300,000 BB and an Orb of Unity! WOO! On top of that, Kirb's feeling better, and despite his nervousness, it seems he and Softy are going to be good friends.

Well, how about that? Not really any boss battles for this chapter, unless you wanna count the racing battles. Well, despite the frustration of the two 4-man teams you face along the way, and the tediousness of dodging wasps and flying bombs, the chapter was definitely pretty fun. See you in the next one!

P.S. That racing battle music was pretty catchy!
Tales of the Terrain: City Rhythms and Dandy Beginnings
In this mission, we'll be teaming up with Nylocke and Flamegirl. Log in, chat with the players in Zen Hub (one group will warn you about the Robberobots), then head into Telluria City. Hit the Equipment Stall and gear up yourself, Nylocke, and Flamegirl, then head to the east telepillar to meet up with Flamegirl. Nylocke will be the last one to arrive this time around, but despite his despair, he's only a few seconds late. After Flames briefs you on the mission, she and Nye will join your party, and you'll find that they've each learned a new technique.

Loot the treasure chests in the area, then head down the alley to move to another section. There's a 3-player team up ahead. One is an Infernal Brawler, and the other two are Neutral Weaponaries. It turns out that Flamegirl's new technique is basically a Crystal version of the Dark Comet, so she now has an advantage over other Infernals! Loot the treasure chests and then fight a 2-player team after. One is a Crystal Brawler, and the other an Infernal Spellcaster. They're not terribly tough.

In the next area, check along the upper left edge of the boxes for an out-of-sight chest with a Silver Pendant in it. Check the edge of the next set of boxes for another chest with 100 Netti. The next team of players you face is one Neutral and two Infernals. Nye and Flames can handle the Infernals easily enough, so focus on Cthulawyer since she can provide some significant stat boosts to her team. Don't forget to check the sparkling trash cans for a bit of pocket change! There's also a chest in the lowest corner at the end of the area that has a Lunch Box inside it.

Grab the chests and check the sparkling boxes in this next area, and then go and face a 4-player team. From top to bottom, they are Neutral, Natural, Crystal, and Technical. Take out the Natural character first because they can inflict Flower. The Technical guy should go down next because he has an ability similar to Flamegirl's Campfire technique. The alien has a healing ability that it can use on allies and a weak HP-draining ability so get rid of him next. You'll find Pawneeko at the end of the area, so stock up on supplies if you need to, then move on.

The next area has an NPC in it that explains the admittedly cool graffiti you've seen. The mysterious artist you're looking for is responsible. There are two chests in sight as well, one on the ground and one on a raised platform of boxes. The path to the second is hidden behind that nearby building, just out of sight. You'll also find an Equipment Stall, a healing station, and a save point, and finally another NPC who explains the origins of the mysterious artist. At the end of the area, you'll get a cutscene where you can learn a bit more about Nylocke's old RP guild and its former leader, Sir Maximore.

Tsuntori will be waiting for you in the next area with a tutorial on rhythm battles. It's basically that rhythm thing you played in the last regional event. Basically, instead of using the face-buttons (or WASD) to select actions, you're using them to hit musical notes as they come your way. Press the correct button/key when the note is over the pink space to hit it, effectively dealing damage to the opponent. Your goal is to reduce the Beat bar to nothing! Move ahead and you'll find the mysterious artist! He'll lend you one of his rap-bots to fill out your team because you need at least four people for Rhythm Battles. And now, it's time to feel the beat!

You'll be tasked with matching the rhythm of three verses. If you can do that, you'll successfully beat the artist, and he'll give you 300,000 BB. But then after the battle, the current leader of Tales of the Terrain will gallop past you to the last area of the sector. Nylocke wants to investigate, so head that way.

You won't find Galantaz in the next area, but you WILL find some more members of the the RP guild, including Meiden and Sunlong, the Twin Blades of Night and Day. They're fighting against what I assume to be a pair of "evildoer" members of the Tales of the Terrain. After their fight, there's some conversation and then the Twin Blades will challenge you to battle.

-BATTLE ON!-

Sunlong and Meiden are Infernal and Technical, respectively. Both are Weaponaries with around 100 HP as well. You ABSOLUTELY want to defeat Sunlong first, for two reasons: For one, he can turn party members into flowers; and for two, he has a DEADLY attack that can instantly defeat any of your characters if you fail to block at just the right time! Hit him with Nylocke's Stalagmite Stab and Flamegirl's Freezer Burn attacks and support them with whatever techniques Hatty's picked up along the way. Once he's down, focusing on Meiden will be a lot easier. She has a multi-turn healing ability, and she can enshroud your party in a freezing mist that can Encase anyone who is not immune to the ailment if Infernal magic is used. Still, she won't be too difficult if you just keep up the pressure while keeping your party alive.

Victory against the Twin Blades of Night and Day will get you 150 Netti and an Orb of Unity! You'll also learn the origins of the name of your guild, the Dandy Alliance. Galantaz will also appear and give a warning of some kind (he only speaks in horse noises; his character IS a horse, after all). The cutscene will finish with Flamegirl now more determined than ever to win and to be a better leader for the guild. She and Nylocke will then depart to continue the search for Bincho Bucks while you log out.

There's going to be a check-in meeting for the guild in the next chapter. See you there!
Bincho Burglary - Chase Down the Trouble Makers!
You've got two emails waiting for you, one from Tigerlily and another from Flamegirl. When you head into Zen Hub, you should DEFINITELY chat with the NPCs because one of them is SUPER ticked that all of his Bincho Bucks were stolen. Before you can enter Telluria City, you'll be spotted by Zetto who has a brief conversation with you. He seems amicable enough this time around, but the overconfidence and arrogance still seep from his every word.

Enter Telluria, top off your inventory if you want, then head to the east telepillar to meet up with the gang in Palladi Park. For some reason, "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" is the background music for this area. Go to the end of the area and meet up with Flames and Nye. Kirb will show up next, then Softy, and finally Alpha. Everyone will pool their money together and... YOU DID IT! Halfway through the week and you've got one million BB! But while you're all talking, a cloaked figure will walk past Alpha, and as you leave to get register... it's all gone! The cloaked player has stolen all of your Bincho Bucks! He dashes off into the park, so give chase!

More Nutcracker music awaits you, as do two other cloaked figures. They'll run around in circles before splitting off into three directions. Nye and Flames will take the left path, Kirb and Softy go straight ahead, and you'll be paired with Alpha and have to go the right. Use the Equipment Stall if you want, then head after the thief!

Grab all the chests in the next area while avoiding the enemies, but you'll be stopped by two players, a Natural and a Technical. Take 'em out quick, grab the nearby chest, and then head to the next room. There's no other exits so try to catch the thief! Unfortunately, it turns out to be Archy. Poor kid.

-BATTLE ON!

Time for a beating. By the way, bring a LOT of Chimes with you. Not only will Archy hack your team to disable your Strike function and to skip Alpha's turns, but he LOVES hitting Hatty with Star Arrows. Seriously, he just wouldn't STOP with me! And those things deal 45 damage a hit, even when defending!

After the battle, Alpha will get a PM from Kirb saying they tracked down another one. Softy will met you at the center and tell you that they need more than just two people, and she'll join your party. Use the healing station and the Equipment Stall, and buy some more Chimes from Pawneeko before heading off.

Grab the chests that you see, and then fight the two players in your way. They're Crystal and Technical elements. Take 'em out fast! Proceed onward, grabbing the chests you see, and then fight another 3-player team. One's a Natural and the other two are Crystals. Have Alpha take out the Natural player with a couple of Vulcan Fists and some help from Hatty and Softy, then focus on the other two. If you can take someone out with Softy's Combat Disc, do it! And use hacking if you have to!

Okay, I know that there's no REAL hurry because the story is gonna play out the same way. Anyway, head to the last area along this path and meet up with Kirb. Apparently THIS member of the Trouble Makers can jump over walls, so it's hard to catch him with just two people. Alpha will block the exit while you, Kirb, and Softy chase down Skeight. When you catch him, it'll just be you three, but that should be plenty. Out of all three Trouble Makers, I think Skeight's actually the weakest.

-BATTLE ON!

Unfortunately, though, he's a lot tougher this time around. He has two Infernal attacks, one an attack-all and another a single-target. In addition to that, he has three hacks he can use: One makes him untargetable, another shuts off your magic, and the last will make a player skip their turn. After the fight, the four of you will head back to the center.

Rockoon managed to avoid Nye and Flames, and the latter has contacted a moderator. But White-Hat has made a decision... they hack the team so that all six of you can chase after Rockoon!

-BATTLE ON!

Your party will be Flamegirl, Nylocke, Alpha, and yourself. You may remember that Rockoon is a Natural element, so hit him with your most damaging Infernal attacks, especially the Vulcan Rocket! Nylocke should be on Item duty, and Hatty should focus on Debugging. Rockoon has three hacks that he can use against you: He can make himself untargetable, he can shut off your Items menu, and he can skip a player's turn. However, with your current party, you can take him out fairly quickly if you just keep your MP up.

After the battle, though... things don't go so well. Even after defeating Rockoon, you don't get the Binchos back. He didn't steal them. He DELETED them. But things fall apart for him too. He argues back that Archy and Skeight were a couple of nobodies fighting each other when he found them, and that HE made them into winners... but the kids overhear. And it looks like the Trouble Makers have made trouble for themselves now.

Most of the guild will leave to take a breather before going back to try and re-earn the one million BB. Nylocke and Hatty will have a brief conversation as well, and then one last email is sent before the chapter ends.
A New Alliance Blossoms! - Training with the Masters
This next chapter is mostly just one big cutscene. Read your emails and then head into the game. As always, chat up the players in Zen Hub if you like, then head to Telluria to meet with the gang. Turns out everyone stayed up late trying to scrounge up more Bincho Bucks. Nylocke has so much caffeine in him you'd think he could run across a lake at a speed of ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FIVE CUPS PER HOUR!!!

When everyone is gathered, who should appear but Tigerlily herself! Flamegirl, Nylocke, and even Kirbopher are awestruck. Tigerlily has made a decision: She has realized that she'll have a better chance of defeating Zetto and teaching him some humility if she has help. Flamegirl asks a few questions to ensure that this will work out, and is even up front with Tigerlily about her sister's situation and why she needs that $10,000. Tigerlily has no objections to this, and promises to do whatever it takes to win. Everyone entrusts her with the BB they acquired...

AND IT'S GOOD! The newly formed Dandy Alliance+ has acquired one million Bincho Bucks! They immediately register for the third event. Flamegirl briefly defers to Tigerlily for advice on preparation, and she advises that everyone gets some shuteye. All of you log out and you can save your game.

A new day, a new chapter! Emails, Zen Hub, Telluria. This is gonna be your prep day. Before the meeting breaks, take the opportunity to divvy out your last four Orbs of Unity. After the meeting, Tigerlily will officially be part of your guild so you can adjust her equipment at arenas and Equipment Stalls, and she'll have learned a new attack.

Head up to the arena to find Okra again. He'll be entering the competition this time around, and he managed to do it all on his own! He'll also tell you about a REALLY tough fight that you can find in Palladi Park. Go through the southern entrance and head to the end of the western pathway. We'll check it out soon! Meanwhile, if you wanna hit the arena, the teams that pay the most for victory are the 4-man teams, though Luck 'N Wealth might be worth more of your time since they're smaller but pay out 100 Netti.

By the way, since you can explore freely, why not head back to Morganite Valley and check on the Prisoner? Chatting with her will reveal a bit more of her history. Apparently, Queen Rulerruby found her as a baby out in the wild and took her in. The queen also told the Prisoner that keeping her in the castle is for her own protection, what with all the monsters about. Still... something seems off about the whole situation.

Back in Telluria, you'll find Completeboy next to the Dojo. Chat him up for the locations of a few more Rainbow Cubes!

  • Outside Goldhattan Casino: Behind a lamppost.
  • Silva Isle -> Sector W: 3rd island of the 3rd section, down an alley, under an awning beneath a blue building, obscured by a green building
  • Alluminz Alley -> Sector 2: Past the graffiti of Kindarspirit and around the corner
  • Alluminz Alley -> Sector 9: Behind a silver building
  • Palladi Park -> Southern Entrance: Take the western path to a sandlot, then around the rightmost corner of the cage (look for some sparkles)

Completeboy also mentions that there's a way to fight all four Dojo Masters at once. They can be found training at the "Zircor Zone" every Saturday (your free days in the game). Enter the building from the back to find a secret room where you can fight them. It's a 1-on-4 battle, but the prize is supposed to be incredible.

There's a new section you can explore, Silva Isle -> Sector U. You'll be able to race against Ute here. Defeating him will get you 150 Netti. You only get the prize once, though. You can find the mysterious artist Pheturin in Alluminz Alley -> Sector 9 and engage him in a rhythm battle. Just like with Ute, you'll receive a one-time reward of 150 Netti.

Let's go check out that battle in the park Okra mentioned! You'll be there looking for a Rainbow Cube anyway. You'll find a large Artificial sitting on the pitcher's mound of the sand lot. Approach him and he'll activate to fight you!

-BATTLE ON!-

Com-nder is Neutral-aligned, has 333 HP, and is immune to both Paralyze and Flower. If you have no qualms about using hacking in battle, you should change your element to Crystal, increase your defenses, and hit the robot with Input Lag. Don't forget to Debug too! If you're immune to Paralyze and Flower yourself, you should be okay. Just keep healing yourself as necessary and hitting Com-nder with your strongest attacks. Your reward will be 500 Netti and a "Magic Minus" Power-Up.

Last order of business! Take the telepillar to Zircor Zone and enter the arena from the back. You'll find all four of the Dojo Masters training in a ring. If you head up the ramp, you'll be asked if you want to interrupt them for a fight. If you DO, though, you'll be in for the fight of your life! In fact, it might be wise to wander around the top floor of the Goldhattan Casino for a while, fighting 1arms. Every time you hit one, the symbol they show changes. When all three have the same symbol, they all self-destruct and something happens depending on if they were showing skulls, dollar signs, or sevens. The dollar signs will net you 50 Netti. The 7s, however, are the real prize. You only get 30 Netti, but you also get a Golden Fruit, which COMPLETELY restores one party member's HP! It might take a while, but if you're patient then farming this hidden orchard will make a lot of future fights a lot easier. The only problem, however, is that they're quite rare and show up as random encounters like in more traditional RPGs.

-BATTLE ON!

You've already fought three of these guys in 1-on-1 battles, and the new face is the Dojo Master from the next area, Orange Island. All four masters bear one of the four elements. However, you should probably take them out in the order you encountered them, as this goes from weakest to strongest. The reason why is you want to reduce their numbers quickly so that you'll be taking less total damage when it's not your turn. So start with Bolemoor from Edodes Woods, then Morgani from Morganite Valley. Follow up with Jett from right here in Telluria, and finally Syranlass from Orange Island. Be especially careful with Jett, though! He's basically the NPC version of a Brawler-class. Syranlass mostly focuses on lowering your stats, so she's definitely the least threatening. Victory against the Dojo Masters will get you a "Reaching Zen" Power-Up, which prevents ALL Status Ailments! WOO!
Campaign of Champions: Hostile Takeover! Rescue Operation, Execute!
Today's the day of the third event! Log in and chat up some of the players in the area if you like, though there's not really any useful information this time, then head to Telluria City. You should probably head straight for the Equipment Stall and deal with that now, but you'll be given another opportunity to adjust everyone's gear before you enter the event.

Once you're inside, the press conference will begin, with Foreva introducing the teams participating. Your biggest competition is going to be the Cast 'O Dreams, both figuratively and literally. As Bincho prattles on, Okra will leave, followed by the Cast, and finally your guild. Time to rescue President Execk!

On the first mission, the gang will split into groups of two, with one person going solo. You can be that person, or you can team up with someone. Your first bit of infiltration will involve dodging security bots. If they spot you, you will be INSTANTLY eliminated from the competition, like poor Okra. Dodge the bots and grab every treasure chest you can find (they're all out in plain sight). When you reach the end of the area, you'll be confronted by the two newest Cast members, your old friends from the mines!

-BATTLE ON!-

Hyperlynx and Thunderlinks are just as strong as before, if not stronger. If you have a type advantage over one of them, focus on that one! If you don't, or if you have advantages over both, just pick one of them to focus on. Keep an eye on your HP, as well as your partner's if you picked one, and your team's MP. You'll want to be ready for future battles. Watch out for Thunderlinks in particular! He may be a Technical element, but he has an Infernal attack, and his strongest move is a Technical attack that hits the entire party multiple times!

When you've defeated the poetic duo, hop into the elevator to meet up with the rest of the guild on the 25th floor. Proceed ahead and this time you'll be tasked with splitting into two different groups. You'll have to take two people with you this time, but no more than that.

Your next mission has you dealing with a lot more security bots at once, and there are still plenty of chests to loot, though some are harder to get to than others. Tread lightly, grab all the chests (they're difficult, but nowhere close to impossible), and take the elevator to the 44th floor. Unfortunately, a much tougher fight awaits you here.

-BATTLE ON!-

You'll be fighting 4 Cast members this time: T-Bones, Grounda, Sniperyda, and Asterologist. This unfortunate lineup means that there are two Team Attacks you could potentially be hit with. Take out one of the dinos first, depending on your team's type advantages, then focus on Sniperyda. With luck, you won't have to deal with more than Snipe's and Aster's Team Attack, since it only hits one target. Be wary of Asterologist's various shield techniques too! When it's down to just him, you can probably get away with just using Strike and healing techniques.

After you beat them, head into the little office area to use the healing station. Don't forget to loot both treasure chests in the area, as you'll get a Full Meal and a Heavenly Chime! Afterward, move through the door at the end of the hall to meet up with the guild on the 51st floor. This time when you split up, you can take a full party with you, so build your dream team and move ahead!

Duck in and out of the office areas and sneak past the security robots as opportunity presents, grabbing treasure chests as you find them. Grab the last chest at the end before you move on to get a Heavenly Chime! In the next area, though, you'll be greeted by the leaders and the hackers of the Cast 'O Dreams! However... the hackers send the leaders off to finish the event whilst they hold you off!

-BATTLE ON!-

As always, Dustbunny and Ravenfreak are a couple of dirty cheaty-facers. DB can disable Power-Ups, disable certain input, and overclock the timer to force players into defense, and Ravenfreak has figured out how to make himself untargetable. Given their elements (Infernal and Natural), I'd recommend bringing along Alpha and Flamegirl for this fight. Their Vulcan Rocket can drop Ravenfreak down to just over 30 HP in a single hit. Further, they both have Crystal attacks that you can use against Dustbunny. Deal with their hacks as they come up.

You'll meet up with the other half of the guild on the 75th floor, and then you'll proceed onward. On the 86th floor, you'll find a LOT of treasure chests, a healing station, and an Equipment Stall. Definitely use the Healing station, loot all the chests, and double-check your gear at the stall before moving on. But on Floor 99, you'll run into some SERIOUS trouble! Remember the Minimum Security Robot from the casino? Meet his big brother, the Maximum Security Robot!

-BATTLE ON!-

MaxSecRo is Neutral, has 400 HP, and is immune to Encase and Flower, but it's vulnerable to Paralyze and Curse. The snake can spit an all-targeting laser, and the elephant has the robotic staple attack of Rocket Fists, which strikes an enemy twice. Deal as much damage as you can while maintaining your HP and MP. After a while, however, the MaxSecRo will separate into three units.

The turtle (Unit C, mislabeled as Unit B in the game) and the elephant (Unit B, which has its proper label) both have 100 HP, but the snake (Unit A) has 400. Take out the small fry first, starting with the Elephant! It has an attack that hits your entire party, so don't let it do that too many times. Get rid of the Turtle next since it has the ability to Curse players. However, the two remaining units will rejoin. This new combined unit isn't too much trouble, just tedious. It has a weak healing ability, but it's only for 8 HP. They'll eventually separate again, and they'll both be at full health again. Take out the turtle and then focus on the snake, but DO IT FAST! It will initiate its self-destruct sequence! I don't know what happens if it reaches zero, but I didn't stick around to find out either!

One other thing: I've been informed that it's possible to defeat MaxSecRo in its separated form BEFORE any of the parts rejoin. Well, if you can manage it, then in the words of ANOTHER Chris Niosi character, "Then do THAT!" You get a cookie if you know who said this.

Once you finish off the almost-Megazord (seriously, it would be a cool concept for one!), the event will conclude... but not with your victory, unfortunately. As I'm sure we all expected, Saturndiva and the Cast 'O Dreams have taken the Telluria City victory. But... it's not over yet. The Dandy Alliance+ has one last shot, and even Saturndiva is expecting you to win it, as she calls you out!

At the end of the event, President Execk will gift all the guilds with an Orb of Unity. At first everyone seems bummed, but then Flamegirl shows the REAL reason for the name. With a fiery speech, Stephanie gets everyone hyped for the final event! Tigerlily takes on her "wise old sage" role for the guild and suggests that everyone learn the last techniques they can from the Orange Island Dojo.

After the rest of the alliance breaks for the day, though, Tigerlily says she wants to talk to you about something...
Hatty's Decision
In the morning, Hatty will log onto D-Buggers.org and learn of a new hack that lets players use 2 items in a single turn. You'll have an email from Flamegirl telling everyone to follow Tigerlily's advice and hit the dojo before meeting up at Honeydew Hotel. Before you can log in, however, you'll get that Speak-E call from Yuno Hu. In this conversation, you will be faced with a difficult choice. It won't affect which ending you get at the end of the game, but if you're emotionally invested in these characters, as I am, then this decision will be difficult the first time. And what it WILL affect is a cutscene that happens after you learn what the final event is all about. Make your choice and then log into TOME.

Chat with the players in Zen Hub and you'll learn that this event is going to be a bit different in that guilds have to register ahead of time to qualify. When you're done, head to the east telepillar, the one with the red tiles around it. Once there, explore the town a bit. Hit the shop, visit the arena, go to the Dojo and learn a new technique, and then meet up with the guild just to the north. Everyone will have learned a new technique. The team will then head off to see the event's cutscene.

Empress Kindarspirit will communicate via astral projection the task that she has for you. The remains of her physical form, which she cast off eons ago, have placed a curse on the island and it shall all be destroyed in a devastating volcanic eruption at the end of the week! Only four guilds will be selected to put a stop to this, and this will be determined by the good and bad deeds each registered guild performs throughout the week.

Flamegirl will get the guild registered for the event with Andeva. The guild will also be assigned an emissary of Empress Kindarspirit who will tally all of your good and bad deeds throughout the week. Basically, it's just doing more quests, but it sounds like how well you do in each quest is just as important as completion or failure.

Afterward, Flames will give everyone a rundown on her plan for the week. When the meeting is about to come to a close, the consequences of your earlier decision will arise. If you chose to keep the truth to yourself, the Dandies will be in high spirits about everything. If you chose to tell the truth... well, get ready for an emotional roller coaster, but don't worry too much. The alliance stays together, and they're ALL willing to fight beside you in order to help Stephanie's sister. It's going to be rough either way, but that's what you signed up for.
Spooky Pirate Ghost Adventure! - Flamegirl's Unwavering Resolve
As before, I'll be going through the missions as listed in your email from top to bottom.

You've got six emails today. The first is from Flamegirl doling out missions. The second is from Yuno Hu. If you chose to keep quiet about yourself, then the email is for you alone. If you chose to reveal the truth, she'll address it to everyone. Either way, it contains a warning: Zetto’s hired a whole TEAM of hackers to stop the Dandy Alliance+!

Alpha's looking to take on the shipwreck mission, so reply to that one. Chat with the players in Zen Hub to get some advice on the shipwreck area. Remember Mimiclusters from Morganite Valley? Well, you're gonna meet their cousins, Mimicrabs. They're Crystal-aligned though, so kill ‘em with lightning! Another player mentions that a new guild was formed just this morning and is entering the event. Its leader is someone fans of the webseries will remember. Finally, there's a player near the Orange Island telepillar who is quite convinced that the Netkings are the REAL bad guys. I doubt we'll find out if he's right in this story, but a certain Prisoner has me thinking he’s onto something.

If you didn't hit the dojo yesterday, do it now. This time you'll be given the opportunity to learn techniques powered by the Netkings themselves! The four elemental attacks each hit all enemies. The four Neutral techniques hold the power of Webmaster, though some are more difficult to use than others. Practice with each spell before choosing the one you want, then fight Dojo Master Syrinlass to earn your chosen technique! Despite her boasting of being the strongest of the Dojo Masters, she's not a hard fight, ESPECIALLY if you grabbed Twisty Top or Bomb Rush from Bolemoor!

You'll be teaming with Alpha, Tiger, and Steph, so gear up accordingly. Head down from the telepillar to find a save point. Proceed from there to the left and around to find the LAST thing you'd want to see today: Zetto. After some light taunting from him, Flamegirl will just straight up DISMISS him and lead the gang on.

Your goal is to help the ghost of a sea captain pass on to the next life. He'll tell you how he died and what's keeping him here. You'll have to search the ships to find his lost pendant. Let's start by heading to the West.

The first chest you see to the right is a Mimicrab, so ignore it. The next one you see to the left is real. At the end of the dock closest to the bow of the ship is a real chest, and another is hidden beneath the sail at the stern. Inside the ship will be some enemies roaming about, and some treasure hidden amongst the cargo. (Sparkly!) At the end is a chest holding a Power-Up.

Leave on the raft, heading South. The first chest you see is real, but the next one on the left edge of the platform is a Mimicrab. Head inside the ship and avoid the monsters. Grab the chest along the right wall. Head to the back of the ship to trigger a cutscene where you open the chest and find a pendant with the crest of the Netkings on it! YAY! ...right?

No, not yay. Tiger points out that the captain said his pendant's crest was SIMILAR to that of the Netkings, and Alpha says he sounded a little resentful toward them as well. As for the other three chests, two are real, but the one in the middle is a Mimicrab. Just grab stuff because the ghost tells you to help yourself to the treasure. Head back to the raft, then sail north twice.

The chest to your right is real, but the one above is a Mimicrab. Move along the platform and loot the two chests you find, then enter the ship. You'll immediately see a chest, so loot it. The next chest you see as you follow the path around is a Mimicrab. There's some hidden treasure in the barrels, so nab it. On the other end of the ship is a chest. Return to the raft and sail east.

Loot the lone chest on this platform and enter the ship. Avoid the monsters and head up. Hey, what's... shiver me timbers, there's a Rainbow Cube hidden behind that barrel! Grab it! The nearby ghost warns you that there are Mimicrabs everywhere. Speaking of, the chest on your left as you proceed is fake, but the one on the right is real, as is the one at the very end. Leave and sail east.

You'll arrive at an island where you'll find Pawneeko, a ghost NPC, a healing station, and a treasure chest (it's on the far left corner). Use the hot tub, buy some stuff from Pawneeko if you like, then continue sailing east.

No outdoor chests, so just head inside. It's a straight shot all the way to the back to three chests, but the path is kinda narrow, so you may have trouble avoiding the monsters. Loot the treasure and leave. Next, head south.

The first chest you see is real, the next one's a fake, but the one after the Mimicrab IS real. The first chest inside the ship is real. Navigate around the Deathcargos as best you can (they're FAST!). The chest on the left is a Mimicrab, but the one on the right is real. There's a ghost up ahead who gives you a clue about where to find the pendant! After this, loot the nearby chest, return to the raft, and head south.

There's a chest near the Equipment Stall. Loot it, then check your gear if you like. Enter the ship and grab the first chest. The one in the corner by the stairs is a fake. The chest at the top of the stairs is real. Unfortunately, you'll have to fight a 3-player team. The dragon is Infernal, the girl is Crystal, and the shaman-bird is Technical. Take 'em out one at a time in any order as you have an advantage over each of them. After the fight, loot the chest past the door, THEN go through the door.

The next room has a healing station, a save point, lots of little treasures hidden in the barrels, and an NPC. Use the hot tub and save point, because in the next room you'll come face to face with your newest adversary.

-BATTLE ON-

Neomutant is a Technical Brawler (220 HP), while his partner Kilamari is a Natural Spellcaster (200 HP). Kilamari can create a duplicate of herself that will take any hits from a full attack. Neomutant can electrify himself to inflict Paralyze on anyone who attacks him up close. They're both hackers, so be ready to Debug! Neomutant's hacking minigame involves making a running guy jump over energy blasts that approach from behind. Hit the Strategize button just before each orb reaches your character! Jump too late or too soon and you'll get hit. Admittedly, I took out Kilamari before she tried anything.

Victory nets you an Orb of Unity! You'll find some sparkly barrels to loot and two chests. The left one is real. Go through the door to exit the other side of the ship. The first chest you find is real, the next is a Mimicrab, and the third is real. Look! The ship with pink sails!

Go down the stairs and through the door. Here you'll find 8 chests. The fakes are the one closest to the entrance, the one on the lower left wall, and the one next to the stairs. At the top is a 3-player team to fight. Two are Neutral, one Technical. Take out the techie first, then the red coat. Loot the nearby chest and proceed.

A 4-player team awaits you next, all Infernals. Take out the Brawler first! Everyone else is a weaponry. And don’t be threatened by Turkalot. He’s no Chozo, just a turkey armed with a baster.

The chest ahead is real, but watch out for the Sumthindarqs! Run up the stairs and through the door. THIS room has the pendant! The gang takes it back to the captain, who is quite pleased! But he warns ye not to trust the Netkings! He passes on and you get a “Very Good” rank from your ghostly chaperone. Tiger then suggests heading back to the start.

Zetto is waiting for you.

-BATTLE ON-

This is another fight you can’t win. You can at least deal a bit of damage to him with the Vulcan Rocket, so he’s not completely invulnerable this time around. Still, you won’t win. One more thing: DO NOT HACK HIM! This bugs the game and you’ll be stuck in the fight with only two ways out: Quit the game, or use SIXTY Vulcan Rockets. I'm not kidding.
Tales of the Terrain: Dragon of the Cold Steel
We will be embarking on another epic adventure with Sir Nylocke this day. Answer his call to arms and enter the mystical world of TOME! You can chat with the other players here if you like, but the most useful bits of information you get will be about how to roleplay effectively and the players- yes, PLAYERS- attacking your destination area on Orange Island.

Take care of any shopping if you wish, then head to the east telepillar to meet up with Nylocke. You'll notice that the buildings here have strange purple flames atop them. Something about this is seriously bothering Nye... Alpha and Kirb will arrive and join the crew, then Nylocke will accept the quest from a nearby NPC. Once everything is settled, go use the Equipment Stall to gear up. There's also a healing station nearby. Use it now so you can warp back to it if you fall in battle.

Lots of buildings and a few trees on fire in this next area. There are two chests out in the open, one hidden behind a nearby burning tree, and another hidden behind the pink building. Proceed onward to fight a trio of players. One is Neutral and the others are Technical. Believe it or not, you want to take out the Neutral player first. Her X-Slash is DEADLY! Beat the other swordsman next, as the last player isn't a tough opponent. Grab the last two chests in the area and head to the telepillar.

There are three chests just out in the open here. Lots of that in this town, apparently. Loot 'em and then go watch a cutscene. Time to fight some of Nylocke's old enemies!

-BATTLE ON!-

Evil Torchura is an Infernal Weaponary, while Evil Tormenta is a Crystal Spellcaster. Both are immune to Encase and Flower. Tormenta is immune to Paralyze while Torchura is immune to Curse. Both have 200 HP. Torchura is the heavy hitter of the two, so it may be wise to take her out first if you can.

Tormenta has her own share of nasty abilities. For one, she has two drain spells, one for HP and one for MP. She can also create duplicates of herself like Ravenfreak, but if you hit the real one they all vanish. Use your Scan ability to find "Evil Tormenta" and ignore the others!

After defeating the evil duo, they'll depart, but will leave you a clue about what is happening. They inform Nylocke that the purple flame has not only affected them, but other members of his old guild, including his allies! Kirb then explains why Nylocke seems so downtrodden about this whole ordeal.

Catch up with Nylocke in the next area. There are a few chests around and some of the short lampposts have a few Netti hidden around them. There's a 4-player team waiting for you ahead. They run the gamut of all four elements. Focus your attacks as best you can. Worry about the Infernal player last as he doesn't seem able to cause a lot of damage and plays defensively. The Technical player is one to worry about, though.

In the next area, there are a few chests out in the open and one hidden behind a tree near the pool with the volcano at its center. Up ahead is your next big fight. Unfortunately, it's against the Twin Blades of Night and Day, and they too have been infected by the mysterious purple flame!

-BATTLE ON!-

Sunlong and Meiden retain their elements from your previous encounter, but they're both much stronger. Specifically, both now have 2-hit element attack-all techniques! Sunlong also retains his Decisive Cut ability, and if you don't defend at just the right moment, it's an instant kill!. I suggest defeating Sunlong first. Keep your HP and MP up as best you can, because these two are difficult to beat.

Sunlong and Meiden will vanish after giving another clue: They were lured here by the "most hated enemies" of Nylocke and the Twin Blades, and then promptly possessed by the purple flame. As they speak, two other players will rush past you. One of them was Kilamari! Better hurry!

There's a healing station to the north in the next area. There's also a hidden path to the right of the healing station that leads around behind several buildings to a Rainbow Cube! Head back and move past two more fountains- looks like these four are in tribute to the four regions of TOME- grab the chest near the Edodes fountain, and then head to the next area.

Loot the two chests you see and then go pick a fight with a 3-player team. The castle dude is Natural, the wizard is Crystal, and the little guy at the bottom is Infernal. Pick 'em off one by one as best you can and move on. There's a chest at the bottom of the hill. Grab it and proceed to the telepillar.

Pawneeko will be available in the next area, so top off your items if you need to, then move ahead to the left. You will then be greeted by none other than Serpentine and Demonking! Do your best to back up everyone on the roleplay thing, because after this, it's time to work for a living!

-BATTLE ON!-

They're both effectively the same fights as before, but purple and together. Nylocke and Alpha combined should make quick work of Demonking. Have Kirbopher focus his electrical attacks on Serpentine. White-Hat may have to take on the role of white mage for this fight, but that's okay as long as you can keep the party alive. Make sure to have Alpha use Strike to help with restoring MP. Don't forget that Serpentine can think with portals! Use the correct attacks to keep from hurting yourself! Demonking can enshroud himself in a dark flame that Curses anyone who attacks him directly, and he can inflict Curse with attacks. Just keep on your toes and you should be okay.

After the battle, the evildoers reveal the origins and nature of the purple flame. During the exposition, noble Galantaz gallops past, and Kirbopher figures something else out. If you've invested yourself in the lore thus far, you might have figured it out too. Explore the town a bit and grab the chests you find, then move on to the next area.

Grab that first chest and then move ahead for a cutscene. Galantaz has defeated Kilamari and her new companion Abombaton! He then rushes ahead to find and defeat the guardian of the source pyre. Move ahead and you'll be faced with a fork in the road. Before you go anywhere, though, head up the nearby hill to find a treasure chest, Equipment Stall, and healing station. Use 'em, then go back down and save your game at the nearby save point. After that, head to the east telepillar.

There are two chests, an NPC, and a player here. Talk to the Potion Seller and let Nylocke do a thing. It's actually kind of funny to watch. The potion seller will give you his Strongest Potion, which will protect a single party member from damage for three turns. Head back the way you came, then go north to the furthest telepillar. It's time for a bittersweet reunion.

You will find the source pyre and its guardian... the legendary Sir Maximore! He guards the flame for he was called back to the Terrain by its power! But how could a knight such as he, one who put Nylocke on the path of righteousness, justice, and honor, be corrupted by this evil?! He will not elaborate. He is joined by Galantaz, and you must duel the both of them for the fate of Tamarillo Town!

-BATTLE ON!-

Both Sir Maximore and his steed Galantaz are strong opponents and they even have a Team Attack, but there IS a weakness in their formation: Galantaz is Natural-aligned. You can defeat Maximore first, but Galantaz will sacrifice himself to revive him, so focus on Galantaz first. Use Alpha's Vulcan Fist whenever possible and pile on the pressure with your strongest non-Technical attacks. Eventually Galantaz will fall and you'll be left to face Sir Maximore alone, but don't underestimate him! He's still beefy and can deal a decent chunk of damage with all of his attacks! Fight with all of your heart and you will be victorious!

Victory here will grant you an Orb of Unity! I won't spoil the rest of the scene... but know that Maximore is voiced by Nylocke's webseries voice actor! How cool is THAT?!

I cried.
Hackers' Redemption - The Trouble Makers Reunited!
Time for the 3rd mission on Orange Island! We'll be helping Kirb in the Lychee Lagoon for this chapter. Log in and chat with the players in Zen Hub for some tips and food for thought, then head to Orange Island. Hit the shop to top off your inventory, then use the Equipment Stall to gear up. Aside from Kirb, your party will also have Softy and Tiger. Make sure everyone's got the best stat gear you can give 'em! If you have the "Electrical Data” Power-Up, give it to Kirb. It'll come in handy.

Head into the next area via the east telepillar to meet up with the gang. Kirb'll give you the rundown of the mission and then you can go. Immediately check the chest next to the telepillar for a new Power-Up that you WILL want to equip. Then head further east and check the parasol next to the equipment stall for a bit of free Netti. There are two more chests at the southwestern telepillar (one is hidden behind a tree). Then take that pillar.

Run around the area collecting chests whilst trying REALLY HARD to avoid the Plavapuses. I'm sure you can take 'em in a fight, but they're fast on the map and just hard to avoid, AND they can lay eggs during fights that hatch into more Plavapuses, and you'll need your strength for that 3-player party up ahead. Two are Infernals while the swordsman is Crystal. The dragon-looking Infernal can set a trap in front of him, so watch out. The fiery ghost dude has a self-destruct type of attack. It can deal a significant chunk of damage, but it also hurts him. I didn't have a lot of trouble from the swordsman, though. Also, they're all weird.

As you make your way through the area, keep your eyes peeled for chests hidden underneath the large trees. Speaking of peeling, you'll find the Boomnanas at the end of the area. Kirb will grab a bunch, but then you are approached by... Archy? Except he's not looking for trouble (no pun intended). Actually, he wants your help. Skeight is still super mad at Rockoon, and Rockoon told Archy not to hang out with him anymore, in that "I don't want you to get hurt" tone. We've all heard it at some point.

After the cutscene, make your way back to the central hub of the lagoon, hit the hot tub, and then let's go to the northeast telepillar. Grab the chest and then warp away. The next area will be a little maze made of wooden fences. Grab all the chests that you see and watch for some that are hidden beneath the trees, and head through the maze to an area with eight chests. Kirb says there are Mimicrabs there, so murderize 'em good for the next ingredient. Remember, Kirb is super-effective against these guys. Following this, you'll have a rematch with the Slime Siblings!

...who will instantly obliterate you. Turns out they wanted the Mimicrab claw, but you beat them to it, so their own murderizing of your party was a waste of time. What's more, Skeight shows up saying he wants into their crew, but they blow him off, with Splat being particularly mean to him.

Skeight storms off too, but then Tiger has a revelation for you: The Slime Siblings aren't part of Zetto's crew. These guys are new to the hacker scene and clearly amateurs. You'll be warped back to the healing station in the lagoon hub. Now head to the northeast telepillar. Don't worry about the eastward path nearby because it leads to the festival area, and Kirb says you'll need to hit that LAST.

The third area will have two chests... and a Rockoon. And he's got some NEW friends. But you'll only be fighting them and not Rock. Abombaton is Infernal while Technote is Crystal. Focus your attacks on Technote for now because he can steal your MP and inflict status ailments. If you've got healing abilities, you'll be able to weather Abombaton's attacks. However, if you're having trouble, use Softy's Reprogram skill to Flower him.

After the fight, you'll have another conversation with Rockoon... and Softy doesn't think that he's all that bad a person. I'm inclined to agree, but what do I know? I'm writing this on my first playthrough.

Grab the chest in the next area, and before you go kill some gastropods, go around their enclosure to grab another chest. There's an exit at the other end that leads behind the enclosure. There's a Rainbow Cube hidden under the leaves of the tree at the southernmost corner, and a chest hidden to its left. If you're really good with the Combat Disc, Softy can beat a single Deathcargo by herself. Fight until you get the extract and then head back to the hub.

With no sign of coconut trees anywhere, Kirb suggests that the party just goes to the festival area to try and track down the last ingredient. Grab the chest near the last telepillar before you warp out.

In the next area, Kirb says there's probably a path beyond the festival area where you can find the last ingredient. Check the nearby parasol for some Netti, and maybe hit up Pawneeko if you wanna top off some items. Proceed on and check two tables for some Netti. There are some chests next to the steps that lead up to the festival chef, so loot those. There's one more chest and a healing station at the far end of the area. Finally, take the telepillar to move on.

The next area will have a 3-player team ready to fight you. Two of them are Neutral, and the one who looks like a normal human is Technical. That and the blank stare makes me think she's a robot... anyway, have at 'em! Be wary of the painter! She can change your element with her attacks, and it's NOT a hack! Also, the girl has a giant circular saw in her arm. I WAS RIGHT! The swordsman can also inflict elemental damage with his special attacks too.

After you beat them, wander around the area and grab all the chests because some have Power-Ups. Watch out for the Plavapuses because you've got a 4-player team up ahead! Three Neutrals and a Technical, the tech being the animal with the visor and staff. The bottom Neutral player can lay a trap in front of them, and she's also a Brawler that can deal a lot of damage and a lot of hits. The kid with the paintbrush-sword and pallet-shield can change his own element. And the pencil-arm will spend a lot of time sharpening said pencil to boost his ATK and DEF. He can also fire a multi-hit attack on a single opponent and it CAN take someone out if you're not careful! Might be wise to head back to the festival healing station after this fight.

Take the telepillar ahead to find 4 chests and a save point. Up ahead is a cutscene with Skeight and another unfortunate run in with, as Kirb puts it, "the snot-people". Tiger warps everyone back to the last healing station. But then she sends a message... Skeight shows up and so do the siblings! But Tiger's got a trick up her sleeve. "Hey kid! Wanna see somethin' *really* cool?"

-BATTLE ON!-

Since there's a mod nearby, you'll have several turns to have fun with these punks! I suggest hitting them both with Input_Lag (Debug after each one!) so they don't pummel you into mulch. Splat can lay an Infernal-element trap in front of her, so watch for that. Heal your party and wail on these two punks for a good while until Doubling loses his patience and decides to OTK all of you with his Slime Wave attack. This ends the fight... but they lose the war!

The nearby mod saw everything and promptly bans the siblings for the rest of the competition. After this, Rockoon and Archy will show up for a surprisingly heartfelt reunion... and a confession from Rockoon. He tells all but one detail: The identity of his employer. You already know who it is.

It seems like the kids’ll get a happy ending after all, but the last one standing in the way is Kirbopher. And there’s only ONE way he’ll give them that second chance: A fair fight.

-BATTLE ON!-

And a fair fight is what you'll get! No hacking!

You've fought these kids before so you know what to expect. Focus on Archy first and keep your defenses and HP/MP up and you'll win the fight, an Orb of Unity... and Skeight gives you the coconut!

"Very Good!"
To the Top! Busting the Ghosts of Gamesoft's Past
This is the final mission before the 4th regional event! As a reminder, you can actually do these missions in any order, I just chose to cover them in THIS order. Log in and chat with the players. One will warn you that Sumthindarqs populate the Honeydew Hotel, and another will say it's possible to engage in a Rhythm Battle with Empress Kindarspirit herself! When you're done, use the Orange Island telepillar.

Hit the Item Shop and top off your inventory as needed. If you have any Orbs of Unity left, go ahead and use 'em. Make sure you've got combos for Gamesoft, Nylocke, and Flamegirl. And while we're on the subject of prep, it might be wise to head back to Morganite Valley to purchase a couple of Power-Ups from Pawneeko, specifically the ones that add elemental alignments to Strikes for Crystal and Infernal players.

When you're ready, take the west telepillar at Blackcurrant Beach to go to Honeydew Hotel, the area where you saw the cutscene that started the event. Softy will be waiting out front, and you'll be joined by Nye and Flames soon after. Inside, you'll meet with a spirit named Fanghoul who is apparently a huge fan of Kindarspirit because, as the ghost claims, she's a singer-songwriter on top of being a Netking. Softy will offer to escort the spook to Kindarspirit's penthouse, and thus begins the mission!

Explore the first floor and look for all the chests you can find. There aren't any that are hidden completely out of sight, and one contains a Power-Up.

On the 2nd floor, head around the left side for a chest with a Mana Shine in it, then had back around to the right to find the only open door here. Enter and you'll see a Sumthindarq. You don't have to fight it if you don't want to. Grab the Netti from the furniture and leave through the door on the other side of the room.

You'll find yourself on a balcony wrapping around the hotel itself. On the left is a chest with 40 Netti. To the right is a chest with a Power-Up, followed by three players. The swordsman is Infernal, but has several elemental attacks that hurt. The were-bat is Crystal-aligned, and the Frankenstein-looking player is Natural. You should probably focus on the Infernal player first because of their ability to severely hurt Nye and Flamegirl. The Crystal player can also inflict Paralyze, but that shouldn't be too big a problem. At the end you'll find another chest and a save point behind the stairs.

Head up the stairs and through the door. You'll find yourself on the 3rd Floor lobby, and you'll be IMMEDIATELY challenged by a single player named Crashr... but Softy knows them in real life, and she'll immediately pull the party out of the fight. After the cutscene, check the wall beneath the upper floor for a chest with 100 Netti in it (it's completely out of sight, so look for the thought bubble!). There are a lot of Sumthindarqs here, so be careful! There are four more chests on this floor too, one in each of the other corners, and the last one in the center. Grab 'em and head up the stairs. There are two more chests up here, both in plain sight. Grab 'em as you follow the path to the next open room, where you'll find some more furniture cash, a healing station, and an NPC who says he never bathes. (I get you're made of rocks and minerals, but... gross.) Head through to the next balcony and grab the two chests out here before going into and through the next room (grab the chair cash!). Grab the chest on the other side of the stairs, then head up for another chest and the next room.

Another lobby. There are two chests you can grab right away, and a music-themed team ahead. From top to bottom, they are Technical, Neutral, Natural, and Crystal. The first three can all inflict Paralyze, the Tech and Nat can boost their own or a teammate's ATK and MATK, and the Tech and Crystal can hit for multiple times. Focus on the accordion player first, then move on to the Natural, and finally the Neutral. There's another chest behind them as well.

The spirit will offer to let you part ways, Flamegirl says that you should continue all the way up to the penthouse. However, Crashr shows up again to try and get some answers from Softy... but she retreats again. The party gets her to open up about it: That was her brother, and they convince her that she needs to talk to him. Head up the stairs, but if you go through the door go right back because there's a chest with 100 Netti up here.

There's a chest to the left, and player's the right. The players are three Technicals and a Neutral. Focus on the speaker-head in the monkey suit and the swordsman first. The former has an attack-all ability that can deal HEAVY damage to Nye, and the latter's Dance of Swords hits for a bunch of times. After you beat them, head around the stairs for a chest. Head up the stairs after you loot it and head into the room at the top. There's an NPC, a save point, a healing station, a chest, and an Equipment Stall. Use 'em all, because you are in for a gross rematch.

Exit the room through the upper door and go into the lobby of this next floor, where you'll find Softy's little brother again, but this time he's faced with Odboll! Nylocke offers to stay out of the conflict so that the three of you can assist Crashr against this gross bully.

-BATTLE ON!-

The twist with this battle isn't simply that you have a fourth player, but that it's Softy's little brother! He's either a Weaponary or a Spellcaster (likely the latter), and he only has two spells, but they're both quite handy! One puts an arcade cabinet in front of a character to protect them, and the other turns all objects on the field (like said cabinet) into projectiles!

Odboll doesn't really play any differently from your first unfortunate encounter with him. He's still very defensive and will drop a bunch of bombs on the field that will either protect him or attack your party on their turns. Try to beat the bombs so they blow up on him, but if one manages to arm itself on the space in front of him, use Crashr's Poly-Gone ability to turn it into a projectile to damage Odboll and get it out of your way. Even better, you don't have to hear his gross nonsense because he's STILL muted! For kicking Odboll's ball, you'll get an Orb of Unity!

After the fight there will be some... personal revelations regarding Softy. I won't spoil it, but her brother will tag along with you for the rest of the mission. You'll briefly encounter Neomutant and Technote, who will log out, and you'll then be introduced to Kindarspirit herself! And the rumors are true: She will challenge you to a Rhythm Battle! Just remember to hit the appropriate face-buttons or keys when the notes are directly in front of your party members and you'll be okay. The song doesn't have much in the way of lore, other than that the Netkings seem to be getting bored in their eternal life, and most of the song is just a sales pitch for why one should become immortal the same way Kindarspirit did.

After the Rhythm Battle, you'll get the "Very Good" rating for the good deed, and Crashr will log out to go talk with a friend from school on Speak-E. Nye will even promote Softy to a full-fledged knight for the courage she showed to save her brother from Odboll and to finally talk to him about what's going on with her. She is now Lady Gamesoft! Everyone will log out and the mission is over. A difficult but short chapter, yet also quite heartfelt! Well done!
The Several Journeys of Hatty: Slay the Bug, Swat the Dragon
Today's the day the Dandy Alliance+ learns if they made it into the final regional event! Log into the game and chat with folks in Zen Hub if you wish, then head to Orange Island. Hatty will then automatically head to the Honeydew Hotel area to meet up with Flames and Nye. Softy shows up next, and she's actually well rested today! Kirb and Alpha will be the next to join the group, and Tiger will show up last. After a bit of conversation, your guild's ghostly chaperone will appear. After some REALLY tense and suspenseful recapping from the spirit you finally learn...

...

...that your guild HAS BEEN CHOSEN TO ENTER THE EVENT! WOOOOOOOOOOO!

...but Zetto shows up. He gives what I feel are genuine congratulations, but this eventually devolves into his usual taunting, followed by an intimidation display. After he leaves, Tigerlily will tell you what's up, both with Zetto AND the Breaker Beam. After all of the conversations, everyone breaks to train for tomorrow and you'll become free to explore. Let's start by heading to the right corner of the area to talk to Completeboy! Here are his hints.

  • Citron Shipwreck: Inside the green vessel, between some vessels near a sailor ghost.
  • Tamarillo Town -> District Y: Halfway through the town, there's a secret path just past the healing station that leads around to a little grotto with the Rainbow Cube.
  • Lychee Lagoon -> Bay B: In the Deathcargo enclosure, head through the obscured opening on the right side of the fence. The cube is behind another tree on the far side of the area.
  • Honeydew Hotel: On the 9th Floor, near the staircase leading to Empress Kindarspirit's penthouse.
  • Blackcurrant Beach -> Coastline: At the end of the Kiwi Caverns is an "incredible challenge". If you go there, you'll run into Okra who will confirm that it's a boss fight.

You should head back to Zen Hub and then Morganite Valley so you can speak with the Prisoner. This time, for me at least, she's resolved to ask Queen Rulerruby about her purpose and the strength the queen sees in her.

While you're in the area, don't forget to head back to Moonstone Mines -> Sector V if you've crafted all 15 Team Attacks. If you haven't, you should have enough Orbs of Unity, so go to an arena and take care of that, then go to the mines. Head to the end and the two cat statues will congratulate you for your achievement and give you a Catty Coin.

Head back to the hub area of Orange Island. Pawneeko is now here, on the pier just below the telepillar to Zen Hub. This one sells UPGRADED versions of the "elemental strike" Power-Ups, but they're pretty expensive at 1400 Netti a pop. Might wanna grab 'em anyway, though. The difference between these and the others, though, is that they give this Elemental Strike ability to ANY player, not just those who already posses that element! Even Neutral players can have an elemental Strike attack, and all without the aid of hacking! (I find it particularly funny to give the Crystal one to Flamegirl.) If you don't have the Netti, go beat up some chumps at the arena. I recommend building a party to combat a 4-party team that is predominantly a single element. The 3-player teams give 150 Netti and the 4-player teams give 200.

In Lychee Lagoon -> Sector J, you'll run into Alpha who informs you that there's a really tough Rhythm Battle in the area which utilizes Zetto's theme music, complete with added lyrics. It IS a difficult battle, but not impossible. Don't try to do it perfectly, though. Unless you're a literal god at games like Guitar Hero, you ain't gonna do it. Just try to fill up the Jam bar with one layer on each verse and you'll win Smooch's Lucky Pick.

Both the Lucky Pick and the Catty Coin can be sold for 2000 Netti each, but they have another use: Each one is a one-use item you can throw to inflict 150 damage to a single enemy. However, you can only ever get ONE. Even if you use one of them, you cannot get another! Hold onto them and make 'em count, or just keep 'em for collection's sake.

Tamarillo Town -> District A leads to a strange monument that will give you one of the basic elemental strike Power-Ups depending on how you answer its question. Seems... wasteful, if you ask me.

Let's explore the Kiwi Caverns now! Like I said, you'll run into Okra outside. He'll tell you that he made it into the last event (impressive for a solo competitor!), and he'll give you a hint for navigating the maze: When you start encountering enemies, go in the direction of the ones from the regions whose names begin with T, O, M, and E, in that order. For instance, the first two enemies I saw were Sixteenbeets and Sixtyfourbeets (the red wasps). The latter are from Telluria City, so THAT'S the direction you wanna go! But here's another hint: If there are NO enemies, there will be a hidden item sparkling on the path you want to take. Before you reach the end of the maze, you'll find a healing station and an Equipment Stall.

When you reach the end of the maze, you will come face to face with the UGLIEST serpentine dragon I've ever seen. Fortunately, you won't have to fight it alone! If you challenge it, you will be given the option to call up to three of your guildmates to help. I suggest gearing up your choices BEFORE going into battle. Try to protect everyone against Encase, and give immunity to Curse where you can.

-BATTLE ON-

This "dragon bug" isn't just big and ugly, it's also beefy and powerful! It's a Neutral-aligned creature with 1000 HP and immunity to all ailments. It has numerous attacks, most of which can hit the entire party, and all of which are nasty. Its roar can decrease your party's stats, and it has two attacks that can Curse or Encase your entire party. It has one attack that can hit a single target, but its Meteor Rain attack can hit the entire party for a HUGE chunk of damage! If you don't have healing abilities, then I hope you brought a LOT of items. For this fight, I used Alpha, Gamesoft, and Tigerlily. Having two Brawlers will help you recover your MP without having to use item. Use Tiger's Sonic Screech to lower the dragon bug's DEF as much as possible so your Brawler's can hit it harder! It also helps to have Alpha and Softy use the Athena Shield to protect against the thing's damaging attacks. This is a long and grueling fight, but perseverance WILL bring you out on top! Defeating the dragon bug will get you 2000 Netti, a Strongest Potion, a Sacred Water, and a "Magic Minus" Power-Up!

At the end of the cavern behind the dragon bug, you'll find a Rainbow Cube, and four chests, each with a new Power-Up in them!

However, there's one final frustration to deal with: Getting OUT of the Kiwi Caverns. Unfortunately, there are only two ways out: Retracing your steps or losing a battle and warping back to town. If you picked up all the treasure along the way, then just pick a wrong path and lose a fight against a full party of Sumthindarqs.

When you've finished your adventures and you've had enough grinding for Netti and stocking up on supplies, log out and psych yourself up for the final event!
Campaign of Champions: The Curse of Mt. Mulberry
Did you sleep? Because none of the other Dandies did!

Meet up with Alpha and have a chat. Nye will show up next at a speed of 185 CUPS PER HOUR! Kirb will slouch into view, followed by Softy, then Tiger, and finally Steph. You'll be given an opportunity to use up any Orbs of Unity you may still have. The guild will then head to the Honeydew Hotel for the event rundown.

Empress Kindarspirit will appear via astral projection and give you the rundown of the mission. You'll have to ascend the mountain, pass through a spirit gate, descend into the caldera, retrieve the urn with Kindy's ashes, and then BOOK IT out of there as fast as your virtual selves can go! Foreva will take back over and take everyone to the foot of the mountain.

Follow the path up the mountain. Once you're at the top, Steph will spot the spirit gate and the gate will tell you to present a "soul that wishes to leave their corporeal shell behind" before it'll let you through. Okra appears too, and he already knows what's up.

-BATTLE ON!-

Your party will automatically be selected for you: Yourself, Tigerlily, Flamegirl, and Alpha. Okra is immune to all ailments and has 500 HP. But he also makes a fatal mistake. On his very first turn, he begins charging the Breaker Beam! Why is this fatal? Because he definitely hasn't mastered it, and as Tigerlily said, it has a higher chance of failing the earlier you use it. You won't be able to beat him yourself, but on Okra's third turn, he'll attempt to fire the Breaker Beam, only for it to completely drain him of HP, handing you the victory.

The spirit gate lowers its flames and allows you passage into the caldera. Just follow the path down, there's nothing to look for. You'll come to a room with a TON of urns, because of course there are a ton of urns. The gang has to work out which one is the correct urn, all while the New Victors are approaching. It comes down to a coin-toss gamble, Alpha chooses one and they high tail it out the way the New Victors came in. Again, just follow the path, but don't think you can just rush out of here! There were only 3 Victors in there. Neomutant stops you in your tracks before you can get out of the volcano. Time to fight! Choose your party members and get to it! Bring someone who can inflict Flower, like Tigerlily or Gamesoft, and use any elemental advantages that you can. You'll need it!

-BATTLE ON!-

You're fighting against the full New Victors team now! They run the gamut of elements too. Neomutant is Technical, Kilamari is Natural, Abombaton is Infernal, and Technote is Crystal. They all have high HP, but no ailment immunities. Hit Abombaton with Flower and then focus your efforts on Technote so you don't have to worry about his MP-draining spell. After he's out, Abombaton is your next target for his high damage output! Neomutant should be 3rd on your list. If he tries any hacking, just have Hatty debug it, but remember: His hacking minigame is pretty tough if your timing isn't great. Wait until the energy blasts are JUST about to reach your running dude, then jump with the down-face button! Dodge 'em all until the timer runs out to successfully debug his hacks!

After the battle, continue along the path until you exit through the other spirit gate. The cutscene will begin and it looks like the volcano's gonna blow! But then suddenly, it stops, and fireworks begin to shoot off! Foreva will meet your guild at the foot of the mountain and transport you back to the hotel area. There, Kindarspirit and Foreva will announce the winners of the final regional event.

YEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHH! Victory is yours! The Dandy Alliance+ has qualified for the final competition in the Campaign of Champions!

After the event has ended, the gang takes a walk on the beach where Alpha explains why he was sure it was the silver urn (he wasn't JUST guessing!), and Steph informs everyone that they are to get all the rest that they need to be in peak condition. Okra also appears to congratulate you and to apologize for not giving you a good fight. He also encourages the guild, saying that he's beginning to believe that the competition can't be won alone. Take his words to heart, because the Campaign of Champions has now become the Conclave of Courage!
Final Preparations - Side-Quest Cleanup
There's actually two chapters at this point. The first is pretty much just an interactive cutscene where you learn a bit more about everyone in the guild. Nylocke is also NOT in character for this one. The whole thing is actually quite interesting.

The second chapter's got the real meat of the game. This is the final day before the final event! Log into the game and you'll meet up with the guild where Flamegirl and Tigerlily will give everyone the rundown of the finals. Not only will you be fighting the other guilds, but you'll also be competing against the Netkings as well. It begins with everyone facing a Netking trial, followed by the actual battles between the guilds, and alternating between the two. If you lose a Netking Trial, you're out completely. BUT if you lose in the 1st or 2nd rounds of the player matches, you still have a chance to come back through a redemption bracket. There will also be a trial from Webmaster before the final match.

After the alliance breaks, you can wander around the hub and explore any regions you want. If you head to the upper-right edge of the hub, you'll find a large screen floating just off the side. Approaching it triggers a fun cutscene where you'll see highlights of interviews conducted between Netking Software and the finalists of the event. It's pretty fun and inspiring to watch!

Chat with the other players in the area if you like. One will point out a new NPC at the bottom corner of the telepillar where you logged in. This rook NPC will take you to a new area with a special arena and a kind of boss rush dimension nearby. You'll run into Saturndiva and Snowhyti, who will politely and cheerfully explain that this arena apparently only lets folks fight in pairs before rushing inside to do some sparring. There's also an Equipment Stall, a save point, and a healing station nearby.

Completeboy is standing on the opposite side of the arena from where you came in and he'll give you a few more hints to track down the last couple of Rainbow Cubes. One of them is on the top floor of the Muscaria Mansion back in Edodes Woods. Another is hidden behind the Equipment Stall right here in the Z Stadium area (odd that Completeboy doesn't give a more detailed hint for this one). The last one is in a new area called the Vivid Void, the entrance to which is the swirling warp cloud of doom over to the right. It's actually not as bad as it sounds. There are 26 Rainbow Cubes in total, and collecting them all unlocks a secret boss fight in Edodes Woods -> Fimicola Field -> Sector G.

Let's talk about the Vivid Void! It's really not hard, just a bit tedious. Navigate the maze (there are some treasures to nab, so make sure you explore every single path!) and beat down the shadows of past boss monsters: MaxSecRo, Silicarnage, Ruri, and Kajet, in that order. There will be healing stations and Equipment Stalls before reaching the first three of these bosses too, so it's not like you have to fight them back-to-back- though if you did, I'm sure you could take 'em! Even though you're fighting them solo, they're not at all difficult if Hatty's got the best gear equipped and has strong magic attacks. Your reward for defeating all four bosses will be a third "Reaching Zen" Power-Up, a Rainbow Cube, and a "Thank you for playing" message! Unfortunately, you can only go through this challenge once, so no Netti farming here.

Now, about the Z Stadium. If you're looking for a challenge or you want to brush up on your skills against some of the Cast 'O Dreams, then this is a great place to get a workout in. Saturndiva and Snowhyti are still the toughest fights of all, in my opinion. But if you're looking to grind for Netti, you'd best head back to Orange Island. The most you'll get from a single fight in the Z Stadium is 150 Netti, and that's not even from Sat and Snow! Kind of a ripoff if you ask me.

Well, let's do some cleanup, shall we? As I said, you're better off going to the Orange Island Arena to grind for Netti, so let's go and do that! Unfortunately, you're gonna need to grind until you have 10,000 Netti. I WISH I were joking. There are 26 Rainbow Cubes and 4 "Reaching Zen" Power-Ups in the game. If you've followed this walkthrough up to this point, you should have most of them, but the last ones are ALL sold by Pawneeko in the Netking Stronghold areas of each region. The Power-Up is 6000 Netti, and the cubes are 1000 apiece. Best get to work! Just build yourself a team that can deal a lot of Crystal damage and beat up the "Incinerating Infidels" team for the fastest grind.

Another thing you should do is to head to Morganite Valley for the last conversation with the Prisoner. You'll actually get to see her face this time too! However, at the end of it all, two guards will discover you, and while the Prisoner will plead for them to not harm you, and they will oblige, you'll be escorted out and forbidden from ever entering again.

Once you've taken care of everything, there's one more hidden optional boss to beat! Head to Edodes Woods and use the Equipment Stall in the village to gear up Hatty and anyone else you want to bring to the fight. Save your game too. Finally, head to Fimicola Field -> Sector G. With all 26 Rainbow Cubes in your possession, you will be approached by Giga-M, who will explain, though not with much detail, who he is, why he's here, and how he got stuck here. Someone attacked him and shattered his Control Cube, and you gathered the fragments. He will offer to battle you, and he will give you a chance to go and prepare as well. When you're ready to fight him, he'll also offer to let you call in any allies you want.

-BATTLE ON!-

Giga-M is a pretty tough fight, even with a full party and all the preparation you could ask for! He's Neutral-aligned, immune to all ailments, and has 500 HP. He also has pretty high ATK and MATK stats, AND he can use two moves on each of his turns! He has five attacks in total, three offensive and two defensive. The defensive ones he ALWAYS uses together. Giga Recovery heals him for 150 HP, and Giga Guard raises his DEF and MDEF by 6 each.

His offensive attacks are somewhat varied and he'll mix and match them. His Giga Cannon will inflict damage of a random element to a single player. Giga Spell inflicts damage of random elements to all players. Finally, his Giga Slash deals Neutral damage to all players. All three of these attacks deal significant damage, and since two are "Attack All" techniques, he's extremely difficult to block. If you have the Total Relax spell, it will be a GODSEND for this fight. If not, any other healing abilities and items will be QUITE necessary.

My recommended allies for this fight are Alpha, Gamesoft, and Tigerlily. You'll need the Brawlers to help recover your MP, and Tigerlily's Sonic Screech can lower Giga-M's Defense Power. Gamesoft is here for her own healing ability "Vaccination" and for her Combat Disc attack which can deal 99 damage to the target if timed correctly! As for Alpha, like I said, you need Brawlers to recover MP, so just have him wail on Giga-M with Strike combos, and have Tigerlily join in on the beatdown whenever her Sonic Screech can no longer reduce Giga-M's DEF.

You won't get any Netti for winning this fight, unfortunately, nor will you get any items you can use for combat. However, he WILL give you an item called "Ancient Shutter"- it's an old camera with built-in photo development- and he'll show you a photograph he took with it. More lore stuff that may only get resolved in a sequel, so I won't spoil it, but I DO hope a sequel is made so we can get these story threads resolved! Getting the Ancient Shutter also extends the Good Ending of the game.

Giga-M will then use his reassembled Control Cube to call his ship and leave.

Well, only other thing you can do now is grind for Netti at the arenas (stick to Orange Island, it's the most money for your effort). Whenever you're ready, Log Out.
Conclave of Courage: Challenge of the Netkings
The day of the competition has arrived! Hatty first checks out the D-Buggers forum and learns one more trick: How to disable ALL defenses! This means that the target cannot block or assume a defensive stance in any way (they still have their Defense Power, though).

You'll also have an email from Netking Software asking for confirmation that you'll be at the event. Reply and log in to meet up with the guild. A moderator will transport you to your guild's starting point in the heavens for the Conclave of Courage. When the event begins, head up to the stairs and take the telepillar to the next area. Foreva will be commentating as you move through the winding path here to the next telepillar.

In this next area, you'll find two NPCs. Talk to them to get some vital information. Trust me, you'll need it. Afterward, move to the next telepillar and warp to the next area. You'll find Tsuntori here and she'll show you what the tournament bracket will look like. After you talk to her, move on to find a healing station and an Equipment Stall. I suggest you use the Stall to equip your chosen party members for the upcoming fight. I went with Tigerlily, Gamesoft, and Kirbopher. (Okay, honestly, I went with Kirb because of the webseries fight between Kirbopher and Bitshrum.)

-BATTLE ON!-

Chief Bitopio is Neutral-aligned (surprising!) and is immune to all ailments except Curse and has 300 HP. He also has a number of box-based attacks. One summons two boxes as damageable objects, which can then be used to damage a single target (both will attack random targets). These concrete blocks also have insanely high DEF and 100 HP. HOWEVER, if you time your blocks (HA!) correctly when they attack you, you can actually send them hurtling back to Bitopio, where they'll break against him and inflict some damage to him!

Another attack is just Bitopio chucking a block of bricks at someone. His third attack is the Gift Box which bestows a random positive effect on him. Finally, the Warp Box is a warp trap, but it's one-use only. I would have Gamesoft run into it so that the heavy hitters and Tiger could use Strike.

After the battle, Bitopio confesses that he should have been more watchful of the Edodes Woods, and that if he had, the Kajet's relics might have been found faster and Bitopio might have found a better way of purifying them. Well, move on to the next area where you'll find a save point, healing station, Equipment Stall, and Pawneeko. Buy whatever you need, if you need anything, heal yourself in the hot tub, and use the Equipment Stall to gear up for the next fight. Just a heads up, you'll be facing Sat, Snow, Ravenfreak, and Dustbunny.

-BATTLE ON!-

You lose.

No, seriously, you lose. You won't even get a single turn. So much for the Black Hats not pulling any stunts. However, this isn't the end! You'll be revived and you'll move on to the next area, where Tsuntori will show you the state of the brackets. Your next challenge will be against Queen Rulerruby, followed by the Trouble Makers! Gear up for the next fight and get ready for another Netking!

-BATTLE ON!-

Queen Rulerruby is Neutral-aligned, immune to ALL ailments, and has 300 HP. She also has some unique attacks. First she'll summon three crystals. Whenever you get the chance, break these crystals FAST! They attack with something called Death Roulette. Whichever character the attacking crystal lands on will be instantly defeated; however, blocking at the right time will leave that character with just 1 HP. If they get hit again with the Death Roulette, just block again and nothing will happen.

Rulerruby can create a mirror that will inflict damage to an attacking player equal to the damage of a single hit from an attack- so, for example, the damage from the FIRST hit in a Strike combo. She can also throw an Energy Volley, but if you played The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, you know how this goes. Block the volley three times and it'll strike the queen instead. Finally, she has an ability similar to one of Asterologist's. By using Guard, she can reduce damage done to her, but also absorb it for a powerful wave attack! All in all, she takes a while, but she WILL fall.

After the battle, move on to the reprieve area to heal up, gear up, and stock up. It's time for a final match with the Trouble Makers!

-BATTLE ON!-

Just as a refresher, Archy is Neutral, Rockoon is Natural, and Skeight is Technical. All three have 250 HP, but no immunities. Fortunately, there's no more hacking shenanigans from them, but even without cheating, the Trouble Makers are formidable opponents, especially now! All of their attacks are stronger, and they've added three new abilities to their arsenal: TEAM ATTACKS!

Garbage Cannon: Skeight loads Rockoon into a trash can and then fires him for massive damage against a single opponent!

First Aid: Archy and Skeight team up to heal Rockoon for 150 HP.

Explosive Arrow: Rockoon attaches a bomb-rock to one of Archy's arrows, and Archy lets it fly to deal explosive damage to the entire party!

Aside from these, the biggest dangers are Archy's Star Arrow and Rockoon's various bomb-rock attacks. Try to keep your HP up! I recommend taking out either Archy or Rockoon first as they're the most dangerous of the bunch.

After the battle, move on to the next area where Tsuntori will show you the brackets and you can heal up and reequip your party.

The next part of the Conclave is actually just a Racing Battle against President Execk and Ute. Pile into the F1-O.W.E.R.!

-RACING BATTLE! ACCELERATION!-

Okay, there's not really much to tell, I just wanted to make a Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's joke there. This IS going to be a bit longer than every other Racing Battle you've ever had, but all of the mechanics are the same otherwise. Don't worry, you've got this.

But the next fight’s gonna be a doozy, because it’s a proper battle, and a rematch with the Cast ‘O Dreams. Fortunately, you’re in for a FAIR fight this time! Gear up your team. I recommend tacking on some of the power-ups that grant elemental Strikes. You’ll need Natural and Technical to beat Saturndiva and Snowhyti, respectively.

-BATTLE ON!-

You’ll be facing against the four founding members of the cast, the same party you fought against so long ago in Edodes Woods. So, you know what that means: Same strategy! Take out either Sat or Snow as quickly as you can to nullify their team attack, then get rid of Sniperyda so she can’t use her team attack with Asterologist. Remember, Sat’s a Technical, Snow is Crystal, and the others are Neutral.

After you’ve nullified the team attacks, focus on Sat/Snowy, whichever remains, and save Asterologist for last since he’s still not that big a threat on his own

After the battle, Tigerlily storms off...

Head to and through the next area (heal up and gear up first!) then move on to face Empress Kindarspirit. I think you know how this song and dance goes.

-RHYTHM BATTLE!-

Same song, same dance as last time. You'll even have the same party as before, not that it really matters. Just remember to hit the right buttons just as they reach the spaces in front of your party members. Fill up the Jam bar three times and you'll win easily enough.

After the battle, follow the path. Four stone walls will block your way, but each one depicts one of the Netkings, and since you defeated them, the walls will vanish. I'd like to point out that you reach the walls not in the order you fought the Netkings here, but rather in the order in which they were fought by the heroes of the TOME webseries! Neat little Easter egg if'n you ask me!

Two more battles remain...
Conclave of Courage: Final Battle - The Dandy Alliance+ vs. the End-All Be-All
This is it! The end of the campaign approaches! You'll have a cutscene where Tiger almost loses her cool, but Alpha of all people pulls her back from the brink, and Flamegirl unveils her plan for defeating Zetto. In summary: Don't feed the troll!

You get a moment of reprieve in this next area. Over to the right is the healing station, save point, and Equipment Stall, as well as Pawneeko. Just as a reminder, it may not be wise to use the Save Points as these are "Save Points of no return", as the NPC at the start of the Conclave put it. Just think carefully and make your decision wisely. You might as well check in with Tsuntori too (she's on the upper-left edge of the area). You won't get any useful information out of her, but it's a pretty funny bit of dialogue! Head up to the telepillar when you're ready.

In this area, you will learn the truth behind the Campaign of Champions from Webmaster themself. They have become ill, infected by a darkness they had never encountered before, though not completely. But only partially! Another part of Webmaster was able to warn the other Netkings and call upon the denizens of TOME to quell the darkness... though it's ultimately just the beginning, for a greater evil looms on the horizon. So, an advert for upcoming expansions to the in-universe MMO.

Webmaster will be joined by the Foreva/Andeva duo, who will become their literal hands for this fight. I hope you're ready for this one!

-BATTLE ON-

Despite being advertised as TOME's hardest boss, this fight is actually quite easy if you're well-prepared. Even going in blind with a good equipment setup for your party, you can still conquer this one fairly easily, but I'm here to make things easier for you. The hands have 200 HP each, while Webmaster has 500. All three are Neutral-aligned and immune to all status ailments. The Dark God Hand can fire a burst of dark energy as well as rocket-punch a player. The Metal God Hand can fire an Infernal-element projectile, and can try to slap a player. The two hands also have what I presume is a Team Attack which heals Webmaster and grants them regeneration. As for the Webmaster themselves, they have two attacks. The first simply inflicts random ailments onto the party, so I recommend going in with as many "Reaching Zen" Power-Ups as you were able to get. The second attack is a very fast projectile against a single target.

However, all three of these opponents have a weakness: One of each of their attacks can be reflected! The hands' physical attacks and Webmaster's Heart Blast can all be blocked, and if they are, the damage is reflected back to the user! You'll need good reflexes to block the Heart Blast, though.

After Webmaster has dropped to half HP, they'll add a couple of new attacks to their arsenal. One of them is an attack-all technique that hits your party multiple times. The other is a focused beam of light fired at a single party member. Just keep up the pressure and you'll win!

Even after this final battle, there's one last trial. One final obstacle to overcome... Zetto.

-BATTLE ON-

Whomever you bring with you, the gang will stick to Flamegirl's plan of staying silent whilst you manage combat. Knock him around a few times with Team Attacks, but it's basically impossible to deal 400 damage to him all at once, so your primary goal here is simply to survive. Use any healing abilities you have, especially continuous ones like Campfire, as well as any items you have to keep your party alive. Zetto will try to talk himself up, but with only himself to play his game with, he eventually begins to lose his own cool, revealing the depths of his desperation for victory.

After hitting you at least once with all of his other attacks, he'll begin charging the Breaker Beam. Just hang on for a few more turns! That's ALL you have to do! When people engage with him in battle, he has focus because it reassures him that he's in control, but what it REALLY does is hide his own desperate need for victory from everyone, including himself. He's just making a lot of noise, but the thing about noise is that it covers noise. Your party's silence reveals the thunderstorm of rage and fear inside him, and he loses focus... and the battle.

* * * * *

Fast forward to November. Alpha and Kirb have finally finished the song and want to put on a performance for everyone, and I mean EVERYONE! The entire Cast 'O Dreams, minus the Black Hats of course, the Tales of the Terrain (good AND evil!), Softy's brother, even the Trouble Makers are there, now welcomed with open arms!

Enjoy the show! And I hope you had as much fun playing this game as I did!
Last Chance - The White Hat Hacker vs. Zetto
There are several alternate endings in this game. Two of them are the good endings, and really are just two parts of the same whole. The second half is unlocked by defeating Giga-M and receiving his camera.

However, there are three bad endings in this game, and the path to the three of them is opened if you lose against the New Victors in Mt. Mulberry, if you get knocked out of the Conclave of Courage, or if you lose to Zetto in the final battle.

You have one final chance to save Flamegirl's sister. The rest of the guild decides to put together a fundraiser to try and get the money needed to save her life, but Hatty has one more card to play, and they're playing it against Zetto. Hatty sends him a private message threatening to expose his cheating if he doesn't meet up for a one-on-one match in Chalcedony Canyon.

Preparations for this battle will begin well before you even get to this chapter. You will NOT get a final chance to change your equipment for this fight. Whatever Hatty had when you got here, that's what you're fighting with. Your best strategy might well be to pump up Hatty's MATK stat as much as you possibly can and then hit Zetto with your strongest attacks, all while surviving yourself.

I do NOT recommend allowing the possibility of seeing this chapter by accident.

As far as equipment goes, you should absolutely have Viridian Victory, Crimson Conquest, and 2x Magic Minus equipped to Hatty. The blue slot is the only one that really varies, but this table will list my four recommendations, giving you their names and the increases or decreases to each of the seven stats they provide. (Note: A negative number means a decrease to that stat!).

The Teal Tornado provides the most balanced boost to the 4 stats you'll need most. Saphire Apex provides 1 less point to those same 4 stats, but makes up for this with +10 to your Health and Magic Points. Either one is probably the best for this situation since they can provide enough "oomph" to your magic attacks whilst keeping you alive long enough to make use of 'em.

Ocean Wrath is risky gambit. The high MATK boost will DEFINITELY let you defeat Zetto, but the risk comes from neither of you being able to block. Your DEF will likely be extremely low, enough that if Zetto's first move is a Strike x6, you WILL lose.

Cerulean Supremacy is also risky. While it definitely provides a hefty boost to HP, both defense stats, and speed, its boost to your attack stats is pitifully low, so you'll need to use careful planning AND stat-boosting items during the battle to win.

Time to end this.

-BATTLE ON!-

At the beginning of the fight, Hatty makes a desperate move and disables all defenses for the both of them. Now Zetto can actually take damage from normal attacks, but it's gonna be a tough fight from here on out. He has 300 HP and retains his immunity to all status ailments. You'll have to focus on keeping Hatty alive whilst dealing as much damage as possible to Zetto, and hopefully knock him out before he can use the Breaker Beam.

First thing's first, hit Zetto with the Input_Lag hack. I don't believe you'll need anything else. His Strike attack deals a lot of damage per hit, and he ALWAYS gets 6 hits in, so lag him out of it. After that, hit him hard with your best magic attacks. However, once he's at 151 HP or real close to it, STOP. If he reaches or drops below 150 HP, he starts charging the Breaker Beam. So what do you do when you get close?

You restock your own MP, and if you're using Cerulean Supremacy, use any MATK-boosting items you have, that's what. THEN resume the magical beatdown! If I'm right, or if we're all VERY lucky, you should be able to beat him.

That said... you might also NOT be able to beat him. In which case he offers you a chance to back out before he fires the beam. If you are NOT CERTAIN that you can defeat him this turn, flee. Defeat, retreat, or victory will lead to one of the three "bad" endings.

If he wins the fight by dropping your HP to 0 at any point, including with the Breaker Beam, you get the worst ending of all.

If you flee, he'll give you half of the money out of pity.

However, if you somehow manage to eek out a victory against him, he'll keep his word... he'll just be SUPER nettled about it, and demand not only that Hatty not speak of this defeat to anyone, but also that the White Hat Hacker never speaks to him personally again.

You have now finished the game! Go back and try again for a different ending!
Green Power-Up Table
This table lists all of the green Power-Ups in the game, or at least the ones that I found. They are listed in the order that I acquired them.

Most green Power-Ups tend to focus on increasing HP and MP, with a secondary focus on offensive power.

IMPORTANT: Negative numbers denote a decrease to that stat. For example, "Clover Cushion" has "-3" listed in the ATK column, which means the equipped player will have their Attack Power decreased by 3 points. A zero (0) denotes no change to the stat. All other numbers are increases of that value to that stat.

Blue Power-Up Table
This table lists all of the blue Power-Ups in the game, or at least the ones that I found. They are listed in the order that I acquired them.

Blue Power-Ups tend to have a high focus on defensive strength, leaning toward MDEF. Their secondary focus is on Speed and Magical Attack power. Average physical attack strength is the lowest of all colors among blue Power-Ups.

IMPORTANT: Negative numbers denote a decrease to that stat. For example, "Heavy Blues" has "-5" listed in the HP column, which means the equipped player will have their Hit Points decreased by 5 points. A zero (0) denotes no change to the stat. All other numbers are increases of that value to that stat.

Red Power-Up Table
This table lists all of the red Power-Ups in the game, or at least the ones that I found. They are listed in the order that I acquired them.

Most red Power-Ups have a strong focus on physical attack strength, with their secondary focus being HP, MP, and magical attack strength. Defensive stats are often neglected with red Power-Ups.

IMPORTANT: Negative numbers denote a decrease to that stat. For example, "Seering Zweihander" has "-20" listed in the MP column, which means the equipped player will have their Magic Points decreased by 20 (WTF!) points. A zero (0) denotes no change to the stat. All other numbers are increases of that value to that stat.

Yellow Power-Up Table
This table lists all of the yellow Power-Ups in the game, or at least the ones that I found. They are listed in the order that I acquired them.

Yellow Power-Ups often neglect HP and MP, but try to take a balanced approach with other stats. That said, their focus is primarily on Speed, with a secondary focus on defensive strength, followed by offensive strength, with the emphasis of both offense and defense being on magic.

IMPORTANT: Negative numbers denote a decrease to that stat. For example, "Charged Schemitar" has "-10" listed in both the HP and MP columns, which means the equipped player will have their HP and MP decreased by 10 points each. A zero (0) denotes no change to the stat. All other numbers are increases of that value to that stat.

okay, cool! i saw that you made an edit recently- if you ever want to contribute the information yourself, it would be much appreciated, too! i'm still trying to organize everything as a bunch of pages need to be made, so it might be a bit hard to navigate
