Bastet

This Character was made for the Black History Month Jam: Music Edition hosted by the Extended Workshop Community. Bastet is inspired by ballroom culture, vogue femme dancing, and of course the house music and Emcees that were popularized by the ballroom movement. Note: This character is submitted as is for the Jam, but further improvement and additions will be made after the Jam is over!


Bastet is a quick bruiser style character, she unlocks buffs when entering her star, legend, and icon states, rewards for keeping a beat up with her attacks! She is a fierce feline, who uses her mic skills, dancing, and special diva-dust attacks to wow the fans!

Bastet's animations not only feature agile attacks, but many are references to vogue femme dance. She hypes the audience with her stunning moves, attacking to the beat. If the player attacks to a rhythm, Bastet will build up to 6 beats. Every two beats marks a milestone that can be redeemed for buffs. To gain the buffs hit any strong attack, forward aerial, or neutral special while beats are on your hud!

- 2 Beats (Star): Bastet gains momentum, this title boosts her speed, great for applying for a chase after hitting a strong attack!
- 4 Beats (Legend): Bastet works the runway, this title increases her aerial movement in addition to her speed. Control the stage with her electrifying presence!
- 6 Beats (Icon): The highest honor, Bastet becomes a walking goddess, gaining all her previous buffs as well and becoming more impervious to being KO'd!

Nspecial - Shade: Bastet fires a witty remark, those caught by the projectile may not be knocked back, but they will see their percentage rise rapidly! This attack is increased based on your current title.

Fspecial - Catwalk: Bastet enters a catwalk dance, pressing up+special performs a rising uppercut, special alone will make her use a dash punch, jump will cancel the walk and dodge out of the way.

Dspecial - Pounce: Bastet rises up for a moment, attacking with a downward dive kick. One of her few moves that allow her to cover space below her.

Uspecial - Diva Dive: Bastet launches her self at the foe, grabbing and then kicking them downwards for a spike!
