About

This mod replaces planetary designation icons with their vanilla resource icons, and enhances some to make them stand out more.

  • Generator, urban, unification, etc icons are replaced with their resource
  • Vanilla prison, fortress, etc icons are given a more prominent edge and/or brightened
  • Habitat resource icons are bigger

No art was done during the making of this mod.

To see these in the outliner, activate the option to use them as in this picture.

Compatibility

Not compatible with any other mod that overwrites gfx/interface/planetview/colony_type.dds .

Compatible (no changes needed) with UI Overhaul Dynamic and Tiny Outliner.

Achievement compatible.

Load order does not matter.

Save game compatible.

Notes

This is the strategic resource (exotic gas, rare crystal, volatile motes) icon.

Code I used to generate the file is on Github[github.com].

Heyo this mod should just be in the game. Unplayable without it! Thanks

Two things tho:
Can we get a version that basically swaps the location of the orbital habitat icon with the resource because even if the resource is bigger in your version, I still need to know which resource is produced more often then whether it is a planet or a station. So big resource icon is with tiny station icon in the top right corner, basically.

Also any chance you can support the Real Space -Planetary Stations mod? I understand this one is a more unreasonable ask so

does not work. this contains all the "Code I used to generate the file" but no file itself, please remove the code from the download and only put mod file in the download

@FrostAdept @imgonnacome Thanks for the ideas! Later I will see about using all 3 resource icons and see if the size works out. I want to keep the focus on the resource where available, and the resource icons for science are the physics/engineering/society icons.

I kinda feel like the standard tech icon is ok, maybe gloss it up or something. Since science is no longer separated in different buildings it is from a planning perspective better to just see the science icon?

Brilliant. Not sure if this suggestion would work out any better, but is it possible to just combine the three science icons arranged in a triangle?
