A woman wrapped in veils and ivy breaks through the people of The Hamlet. Her presence soon stands out among them and her whispers drag promises of salvation and merriment, assuring the will of a naked god who transforms misfortune into euphoria, exalts ecstasy and changes tears into red wine. The Maenad is the fanatical standard-bearer of a distant faith and feeds on psychoactive and psychotropic substances to reach elevated states of consciousness like an unleashed "Narcomancer", coming into contact with spirits and divinities and freeing the body and mind from pain and oppression. Stirred by insanity, paranoia and drunkenness, the Maenad plunges into the heart of darkness to spread her faith and reveal to the world joy through madness.

The Maenad poses great support potential among the team's heroes, offering notable buffs through the "spiced" wine that overflows her Kylix as well as supplying her teammates with Kykeon, which will send them into a state of chemical euphoria. In addition to this, it is an excellent option to keep stress at bay and take advantage of the most suffocating situations. As her stress and tension increase, so will her damage and potential, reaching the state of Enrapture where her euphoria and madness fully embrace the cry of EVOHÉ!

Their game system is based on an escalation of madness and drunkenness. As she drinks and reaches into ecstasy,
her potential soars, but so does her insanity.

* Her move skill allows the maenad to gain a dodge buff and an automatic suffle.

The maenad class mod is just the tip of the iceberg of a much larger and more ambitious project that has been in the works for several years, which includes an extensively developed story about the orphic cults to which the maenad belongs. This expansion project for Darkest Dungeon, apart from the maenad, includes several enemies, bosses, a totally new dungeon with an original soundtrack and several surprises:
