1. Download the latest version of dgVoodoo[github.com]. Extract it to any folder you like.

2. Open the dgVoodoo folder and navigate to "MS\x86" and copy and paste those DLL files into the Tachyon folder found in "steamapps\common\Tachyon The Fringe". Do the Same with the Glide DLL files in DgVooDoo's "3dfx" folder

3. Run dgVoodoo

4. When DGVooDoo is running Click on the Add button and select the "Tachyon The Fringe" Folder.

5. Making sure that the dgVoodoo profile for Tachyon The Fringe is selected, set the Full screen scaling mode to "Stretch, keep aspect ratio" and click "Apply"



6. Head over to the DirectX tab in dgVoodoo. Configure it however you want.



7. Right-Click on the dgVoodoo banner...Click on "Show all sections of the configuration."


8. Go to the "GeneralExt" tab and set the Display ROI to "16:9 Subrect, centered" (or your matching desired resolution's aspect ratio)

OPTION 1

1. Go to the installation folder of the game.

2. Rename "Tachyon.exe" to "Tachyon.exe.old"

3. Rename "Space.exe" to "Tachyon.exe"

4. Run Tachyon: The Fringe from Steam and complete one job after creating your character.


5. Exit the game.

6. Undo Steps 2 and 3.

7. Right-click on the old Tachyon.exe file, then click on Properites...Check the box next to ""Run this program as administrator" ...then set Compatibility mode to "WIndows 98 / Windows ME" Click "Apply" then "OK"


8. Run the Game using the Tachyon.exe Launcher (NOT STEAM) once, change some settings to make sure that the dgVoodoo D3d Wrapper is your video card...run the game and then exit.

9. Undo the compatibility setting leaving the administrator option checked and set the dpi settings to the following:

Click "Apply", then "OK"

You can now run Tachyon: The Fringe without any issues regarding the launcher not starting.
