How to force Steam to use your DualSense controller

This is quick guide to help people who (like me) plugged in their DualSense and the game did not recognized it.

If your game doesn't recognize your DualShock or DualSense controller while it is plugged-in, follow the next steps to get the right button icons and haptic feedback (on DualSense only).
Check controller parameters
From your Steam library go in the properties of the game


Then in the "Controller" panel, choose this setting from the dropdown menu: "Disable Steam Input"


Restart your game

My issue is that controller works when plugged in. But Dualsense doesn't work wireless unless Steam Input is enabled. Not a huge issue, but i don't get PS button prompts which is distracting.

me my ps5 remote dont respond on time and when i used the keyhboard, it randomly reset the settings of the keyboard. apparently Z is forward.

if its not working for you make sure you have the controller on before starting the game otherwise you'll have to restart the game to get it to function correctly.
