The collectibles in this game are currently not within our capacity to translate effectively into a text and image format due to a few reasons:

• The 3D map/mini-map for Hogwarts is not optimized to show multiple collectibles at a time.
  
• POIs (Floo Flames/Camps/Trials) collapse and expand on the 3D map making video guides more accurate as a reference point for navigation and pinpointing objectives.
  
• There's a huge variety of collectibles (and puzzles to boot) especially within the school so an optimal route such as what's shown in video guides is recommended.

With this in mind, we explicitly asked Gaming with Abyss for permission to link/embed and refer to their collectible video guides as an excellent resource for the various collectible-related achievements. We highly recommend Gaming with Abyss' YouTube page as it covers a lot of games in great detail (Genshin Impact, Elden Ring, GoW Ragnarok, RDR2 just to name a few) and overall has been a saving grace in pursuing the Hogwarts Legacy 100% trophy.

Completing a relationship line is just another term for completing the quests related to the 3 characters mentioned below. The starting point for these chains typically shows up on the map as Yellow (Main Quest) markers since they are intertwined with the main storyline. Subsequent quests in the chain may show up as Speech Bubble icons or Yellow markers again.

The 3 Unforgivable Curses learned from Sebastian's quests are not required for the Spell Master achievement. However, if you still want to learn them and missed some opportunities to do so, you can learn them after finishing Sebastian's relationship line by simply talking to him and asking about the curses. This option becomes unavailable if you turn him in. I personally chose 'nobody should know this spell' and did not turn him in but was still able to learn Avada Kedavra through this method.

These next 15 achievements are acquired by following the main questline to completion and beyond. Some of these may be obtainable at earlier points due to the ability to free-roam.


The next 4 achievements are unmissable BUT require a minimum of 3 extra, mutually exclusive runs selecting each house (you can manually pick) and reaching the Map Chamber. Each run should take about 1.5-2h at a good pace and can be savescummed by creating a backup of the autosave that is created during sorting (just exit your game).



These next 2 achievements are still unmissable but tied to side quests.

The EASIEST and EARLIEST way to get this achievement is by heading to Upper Hogsfield and traveling to one of the nearby Treasure Vaults to find a group of 4 Inferius. They are invulnerable until hit with a fire spell so you can indefinitely build up your combo even at the lowest difficulty.

Flipendo becomes available from one of Professor Garlick's Assignments as you progress through the story. There will be cows scattered all over, but the location I personally used was around NE Hogsmeade and SE of a magical beast spawn. You'll see 3 cows just chilling on an open field.

Petrificus Totalus is this game's version of a Stealth Kill. Sneak up behind an enemy with Disillusionment to get the spell prompt. You can also upgrade the spell to a small AoE.

Mandrakes can be grown by purchasing their seed from Dogweed and Deathcap (North Hogsmeade past a bridge) and planting it at the Greenhouse or the Room of Requirement (small pot required). Alternatively, you can just purchase a Mandrake from various vendors. Once you have Mandrakes, equip them to your item wheel to use against 10 enemies (cumulative).

Ancient Magic can be invoked when you have at least 1 charge of your Ancient Magic meter (blue bar at the bottom right of your UI). The charge rate and damage can be upgraded through Traits.

Excluding uniques, you only need to use Ancient Magic on 34/69 of the listed enemies:





There are 2 Battle Arenas (in Feldcroft and the North Ford Bog consisting of multiple waves of enemies that reward a collection item each upon conclusion. These battle arenas are a good place to use Ancient Magic on enemies you may have missed while pursuing the Finishing Touches achievement. NOTE: The Dark Arts Battle Arena does not count.

Butterfly icons temporarily appear on the map when you are close to one of these POI. They disappear when out of range. Simply follow the butterflies that appear when you get close until they lead you to a treasure chest containing a collectible-related item.

TIP: I highly recommend keeping track of which butterflies you have completed. There are 15 butterfly chest locations and they are not tracked on the sidebar of the Map View.


There are 5 dungeons related to this achievement. Simply setting foot inside is enough, but keep in mind they're all tied to main/side content so it's better to do them together.

1. The Collector’s Cave
   West of Hogsmeade and part of The Helm of Urtkot main quest.
   
   
2. Dale Family Tomb
   SE Hogwarts (East Brocburrow) and visited as part of the Beeting’ a Curse side quest.
   
   
3. Tomb of Treachery
   Behind a waterfall located between the border of Coastal Cavern and Poidsear Coast. This dungeon is best completed as part of the Cursed Tomb Treasure side quest and when you have access to Lv3 Alohomora.
   
   
4. Feldcroft Catacomb
   SE Feldcroft and visited as part of Sebastian's relationship line.
   
   
5. Moonstone Garden
   East of Feldcroft Catacomb and visited as part of Poppy's relationship line.
   
   

There are 6 types of potions you can brew:

1. Focus Potion
   
2. Thunderbrew Potion
   
3. Invisibility Potion
   
4. Maxima Potion
   
5. Endurus Potion
   
6. Wiggenweld Potion - the one made in class does not count

NOTE: You can technically make all of the potions in the classroom. All the stations are treated equally and there is no distinction between the classroom and the conjurations aside from more brewing space.

Additionally, most of the ingredients can be purchased/grown. The rest of the ingredients can be obtained by killing various enemy types: Spiders, Inferius, Dugbogs, Mongrels


To grow every type of plant you will need at least 1 of each of the 3 sizes of growing pots (Small, Medium, and Large). These growing pots can be purchased as conjurations from Tomes and Scrolls at varying efficiencies (5-in-1, single pot, etc). All the necessary seeds can be purchased from The Magic Neep and Dogweed and Deathcap. Some seeds are able to grow in 2 different pot sizes (e.g. Medium/Large). NOTE: All relevant shops are located in Hogsmeade.



There are 13 beasts—12 of which can be bred (everything except Phoenix). Unicorns become available after starting The Unique Unicorn side quest. Here are SOME of the Magic Beast Dens:

This achievement can be acquired anytime after completing The Polyjuice Plot main quest. The door shown above requires Lv3 Alohomora to unlock. Simply follow the path all the way up to trigger the achievement.

This achievement will come over the course of pursuing 100% completion because clearing them all is required to obtain all Collection pieces for the Collector's Edition achievement. Check the Challenges tab within the start menu to note all available challenges.

Savvy Spender can be completed once you hit the max level (40). Levels are gained from Field Guide Pages and Field Guide Progression (unclear which types of progression count).

As previously mentioned, the 3 Unforgivable Curses are not required for this achievement. All other spells are tied to the Main Storyline and the Assignments that become available as you progress through the story.

The Loom is unlocked as part of the story after you go to the Room of Requirement. With it, you can upgrade stats/add traits using Magical Beast byproducts. These byproducts are obtained by feeding and brushing your rescued beasts. Alternatively, you can purchase the materials.

General Exploration TIP: When scanning from your broom (preferably with the Revelio upgrade), you'll have a much larger Revelio range for points of interest to help you find the general direction of things (Merlin Trials/Camps/etc).


If you are interested in minimizing backtracking during overworld exploration, we recommend collecting all 33 Demiguise Statues and finishing Gladwin Moon's quest chain first to unlock Lv3 Alohomora. The chain opens up once you start the main quest The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament.

Merlin Trials only exist in the Open World. Please refer to the area-related collectible video guides referenced below for exact locations. You can also check the breakdown of Merlin Trials per World Map area on the sidebar by zooming out completely while viewing the map. For context, there are about 9 types of repeating puzzles:

1. Marble Puzzles - Sets of 5 small stones appear that need to be dragged using Accio to nearby 4-slot holes.
   
   
   
   
2. Pyre/Braziers Puzzles - Light up a set of 3-4 pyres using fire spells (Confringo/Incendio). Can sometimes be found requiring a specific order.
   
   
   
   
3. Boulder Puzzles - 1 huge boulder appears on the map and must be pushed into an equally large hole using either attack spells, Wingardium Leviosa, or Flipendo.
   
   
   
   
4. Platform Puzzles - Multiple arches that you can climb onto will be cleared of vines. Step on all of them without hitting the ground. Some can be cheesed with your broom/flight.
   
   
5. Flipendo Puzzles - Use Flipendo on 2x1 marked blocks to flip the top until all sides match the bottom. The block flips forward in the direction where the impact occurs.
   
   
   
   
6. Basic Stone Descruction - Marble-sized stones come in multiple sets of 3 need to be destroyed with Basic Cast. Very simple, just find them all and break them.
   
   
7. Basic Pillar Destruction - Same concept as above. Simply destroy pillars that look like they're already about to crumble using ranged attacks.
   
   
   
   
8. Reparo Puzzles - Simply find broken pillars to repair around you.
   
   
9. Firefly/Glowing Moth Puzzles - Use Lumos to guide glowing moths/fireflies inside small pillars that have a diamond slot inside.
   
   

Quest guides/walkthroughs are outside the scope of this achievement guide, but there are already a ton of well-written quest-specific guides out there. Please refer to these external sources for guidance if necessary.

Some quests to take note of:

• To start the Well, Well, Well side quest, you need to talk to the Magical Well SE of Aranshire.
  
• The Follow the Butterflies side quest can get bugged. When you get the side quest, drop everything you are doing and complete it without getting any other butterfly chests. Read more about it on this Reddit thread.
  
• Do not unlock any cages in North Ford Bog (especially big ones) before starting the Take the Biscuit side quest. The quest will bug out and not spawn the lock if the cage was unlocked before starting the quest. + Bug Report Status[hogwartslegacy.bugs.wbgames.com] (Fixed as of 03/09/2023)

To complete all collections, you also need to complete all challenges on top of map completion(s). Challenge completion unlocks claimable rewards that go towards collections.

Combat

• Defeat ### of X/Y/Z enemy (self-explanatory)
  
• Defeat the 21 (unique) Infamous Foes
  
• Complete 109 Duelling Feats (can be farmed on easier enemies)

Quests

• Complete all 12 assignments, 34 main quests, and 69 side quests
  NOTE: I believe assignments are counted as side quests (57 + 12 = 69)

• Complete 20 Ancient Magic Traces
