Tetris was invented on an Electronika 60 by Alexey Pajitnov when tasked to test out the computer at the Soviet Academy of Sciences in Moscow.

Tetris Effect: Connected honours this piece of history by adding a very unique theme that emulates the look of the original game. It also has very satisfying keyboard clicking/beeping sounds, changes text to Russian and when you clear lines it has Alexey voice clips of him talking. After a while it changes colours and shows his face in the background. This is my personal favourite theme of the game, especially since it takes a very unique path to get it.

There are some hardware requirements, such as:

• A keyboard
  
• A controller

If you do not have a controller, perhaps you can use some 3rd party controller input emulator. I would not know, but it is an idea if you do not have one.

Also, you may have a problem connecting the controller to this game even if launched in big picture mode. I do not know why this happened, but what I did was download x360ce then made an input config and it worked after that.

STEP 1

Have your controller ready and go to the start menu screen where it displays only PRESS ANY BUTTON. Here, you will input the Konami code. Use the D-Pad of the controller for the direction keys.

If the pressing of the buttons brings you into the normal play menu, you didn't input it correctly.

STEP 2

You should be brought to a dark screen with "Тетрис" at the top and a "?" at the bottom where you can input numbers. The numbers to input are "06061984" which is the date June 6th of 1984, when Tetris was first created.

You'll hear Alexey congratulate you and you will have unlocked the theme. Поздравляем!
