DEAD SPACE STUTTER FIX

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1693980/Dead_Space/

DEAD SPACE REMAKE (also known as DEAD SPACE (2023)), It's a great game, but sometimes you suffer some stutter meanwhile you play, which nowadays is kind of weird, but It's something common since they use shader cache.

For that, I tried to find a way to at least solve partially this bothersome problem, but keep in mind since the game keeps creating shaders and loading them, you will suffer some stutters from time to time unless the developers fix this in the future.
DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING THE FIX
All you need to do is go to this website and download the Vulkan translation for Directx[github.com]

Download dxvk-2.1.tar.gz

Once you downloaded that file, you need to go to your Steam game library, right click to Dead Space and then go to Manage and later to Browse local files.

You will be inside Dead Space folder. Go to x64 folder:

Now open dxvk-2.1.tar.gz that you previously downloaded (using 7z or WinRar).

You will start on dxvk-2.1:

Select x64:

And finally, select dxgi.dll

Drag and drop the file dxgi.dll inside x64 folder:

Now run the game as usual and go to Settings:

And disable Motion Blur to 0:

*If you want to gain a few FPS, I recommend to use Anti Aliasing TAA (instead of NVIDIA DLSS).
NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL
Inside the NVIDIA Control Panel enable V-Sync, Triple Buffer and Low Latency Mode to ON.

Also remember to cap the Max Speed Frame to 60 or 120 (depending on your refresh rate of your TV or PC monitor).
FINISHING THE GUIDE
I've tested this method myself, and It works for me. I know every PC It's a world, different specs and everything like that, but I took my time to figure out and find a solution that may help you, and I hope it will work to enjoy the game without any issue.

Keep in mind that the game will compile and load shaders every now and then, and you will suffer a few stutters from time to time, but nothing serious.

If It was useful for you, please, give a like, rate this guide or leave a comment!

P.S: Every comment with CAPITAL LETTERS or a really offensive comment will be erased. This is a guide to one fix that can be useful for you or not: depends on your PC. I just made a guide to provide you with a way to solve or fix that stuttering. If you are really pissed off, go to Electronic Arts or the developers of the game, not to one guide to argue with one user from Steam who did what he could. I'm not a developer or a programmer either. And also remember, good manners will open your doors.

I do not accept friend requests unless It's someone I know for a bit. If you have any issue with the game (If It's related to this guide in particular), you are more than welcome to tell what happens to you in the comments, but I'll not go further than that.

Dude thank you so much! I almost asked for a refund, tried every single thing at reddit, youtube, chatrooms and for god sake this is the only topic that solved my entire problem.

My specs:
i7 10750H 2.66 - 5.0 ghz
16GB RAM 2x8GB 2999MHZ
RTX 2060 6GB
SSD M.2 Samsung 3500/2500

OBS: if you switch DLS on and set quality and medium graphics settings (in my case) works like a charm.

Again, thank you for your effort and dedication. Apreciate it so much! :steamhappy:

I’ve been troubleshooting game stutters. Deleting shaders and tweaking GPU/CPU/RAM didn’t fully resolve the issue. I suspected latency, I tested a magnitude of different approaches with configurations (ram cache, faster M.2, tightened ram timing etc) . The most significant improvement came from running my 5900x CPU with one CCD, reducing it from 12 to 6 cores. This eliminated shared L3 cache latency. The stutters, particularly noticeable in EA titles

I've now tested your fix for 20 minutes and it works great on my system, I have a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and an XFX RX 6800 XT Speedster Merc319 Black. Previously I felt a frame drop from 120 FPS to zero on every door.

It worked perfectly for a few days and stopped working afterwards, even after doing it all over again :(

This fix does absolutely nothing and if you say you "gained more FPS", you're lying to yourself, it's nothing but placebo, the dxgi dll only covers dx10/11, not dx12 , at least not by itself, it needs the Proton dx12 wrapper to work.

@gabe uscus Is your game running in Vulkan?
gabe uscus 7 Apr @ 9:21am
this fix gave me an extra 15 fps. thank you

Is this supposed to convert the game to Vulkan? If so now matter what I do it just runs DX12 still.

Thanks, this works for me. The traversal stuttering is still there as I progress through the levels in the game, but this soothes the stuttering. Overall, this is a noticeable improvement.
