Introduction
Introduction: Starting Out
Firstly, this is my first game guide I am publishing, please let me know if I can make any improvements overall, or content you would like added. I appreciate any feedback that can help me provide better content.

Starting out in DeadPoly can seem daunting at first for a lot of new players, the mechanics are a bit different that what would be considered the norm, in terms of looting items, sorting and arranging inventory space. Unlike most survival games, this game's food and water seem to drain a bit faster than most others.

When you click on single player - you will enter into the world in a random location. You will find yourself yielding only a frying pan and a big long list of questions most likely WTF to do next. Please keep in mind like any survival game, your objective is to do just that - survive!

Recommended:
1. Find a location that you can use to setup a base. You can only be the owner of 1 base period. I chose a building near a diner in the center of the large main town.
2. Get familiar with the surroundings, as the map does not have any indicator of where you actually are, you will need to be familiar directionally and learn how to navigate using landmarkers that you see / can identify.
Food and Water
Food and Water:

Finding food and water can seem difficult with how fast it drains. However it is far easier when you know what to look for and how to manage it. Cupcakes, Banana's, Tomato's, Pizza, are some items you can easily find strewn about the map, in buildings, streets, etc. They are quite common and appear as small objects , so be on the look out.
Water is also not uncommon, in the form of Water Jugs and Water Bottles. Each of those items has multiple uses, so you don't need to keep a huge stock. Water jugs provides 10 uses, and bottles provide 2 uses.

Tips:
1.You can save inventory space by using the "eat" or "drink" option when the items are still on the ground
2.If you feel like carrying water and food on your person, try putting them in a bag inside of a bag. This allows the main bag to only occupy X amount of space, while the contents of the inner bag are filled with your goodies which you can right click and eat and drink as needed.
3. Pumpkins are amazing and soda! Pumpkins provide multiple uses, good amount of food restoration while the soda gives excellent drink restoration with increased stamina.
4. Hover over the items so you know how much time it takes to use, sometimes eating in a bad spot around zombies can lead to death - since waiting 8 seconds to finish eating / drinking can be lethal.
Inventory Management
How to best use your inventory:

Wanting to gather anything and everything is amazing, however it takes up a lot of space.
One trick I have learned and been using efficiently is how to get the most out of my town runs through town.
When you equip a bag, you can equip up to 4 pouches in the accessory slots. Your inventory will grow significantly based around the main backpack. Thankfully I found a Rush backpack which is amazing and allows me to look the large items with room to spare. I realized that I could put other backpacks inside of it and use them as additional storage.
I usually run with 2 Backpacks inside of my rush backpack, 4 pouches. This has increased my storage capacity immensely. I would further recommend utilizing the ammo box, especially when you start fighting around military zombies. The ammo box is it's own box and can hold only ammo loot, however since it only takes up a 2x2 room, you can rock any ammunition you find without cluttering up your inventory space available.
This trick is also useful for crafting which I will point out again later in this guide. For now, learn the inventory management system, and find out what works best for you.

Tips:
1. Stay away from military bags as their outer space requirements is far too large for the spacing you get inside, compared to most other bags and weight limits.
2. The Rush, and Turtle Backpacks are amazing lifesavers, and time savers!
3. Remember crafting stations have inventory too, don't hesitate to throw bags in the crafting station inventory to give yourself more room, especially collecting wood, stone, etc.
Crafting
Crafting Guide 101:
The crafting in this game is a bit like 7 Days to die. Fistly, you will want to craft a Base Claim (hey, like 7 days to die). This should go extremely quick since gathering is also like it. Use axe on trees, use pickaxe on rock. You can use the standard frying pan, but I recommend using the actual related items, seems to go a bit quicker and more efficient with better yield returns.

Once you craft a flag to claim your base, you are creating a grid that you can work within that prevents any erosion over time and the things are protected. You can additionally add other owners beside yourself (for multiplayer).

Once your base is established, you will need a workbench (you can find out in the open or craft your own). This gives you access to creating wooded structures and a wide array of other options. I have found that the crafting of foundations and such is not of the actual item, but gives you blue print (mistake on my first run for not paying attention). The blueprint is then used to craft the actual item and place it where you would like.

You can craft weapons, base materials, etc. I personally would recommend going straight for the anvil and press machine and mortar/pestle. These 3 stations will allow you to craft ammo for the guns a bit later. Guns are a bit difficult at first to find but become more prominent as the game continues and you make your way by the military people. Your main goal should be crafting just what you feel you need. Personally I just used an existing building so I didn't need to make any foundations, etc. I only crafted the other workstations (sewing machine is useless).

Tips:
1. Each crafting station has it's own inventory tab. Use bags in there as well for better management, this is extremely helpful with the Workbench as there are multiple items that can be utilized in it and can become full real fast.
2. Hit up every debris field you find, each one provides a wide array of crafting materials.
3. Don't craft the sewing machine unless you want to make useless cloth items that does not add to your survival.
Surviving Day One
Make it through the first night:
1.Find food and water (preferably a jug of water and pumpkin would be sufficient and last a while)
2. Scout and find where you want your base or pick a building that is central and has at least a 2 story.
3. Loot storage boxes, containers, crates, tents, etc and place at your base (your inventory will not be enough off the bat)
4. Craft or Find a Workbench - Create your Claim Flag and claim your base
5. Craft or Find Anvil, Press, and Mortar Pestle
6. Scour the city and gear up the best you can and collect what you want.
7. Craft or Find Salvager and use to scrap stuff you don't need for crafting materials, this can yield a lot of materials.

Tips:
1. With wire cutters on you, you can salvage light posts for circuit boards, metal and brass.
2. Hitting vehicles can yield metal and brass
3. There are warehouses with doors you can open that are not immediately noticeable until you are upon it, can yield good ammo and other useful tools and items. The same for storage containers that are the same as the ones on the cargo ship.
4. Mag Light can be in the main inventory and equipped to a slot item and useful to navigate in the dark. Same with the Desert Eagle gun and P1911
5. There is a vendor in the main city "food market" building that sells a water cooler - save enough money and get one for your base and you won't regret the purchase.
Conclusion
Overall I have , and am still, having a fun time roaming around as a White Power Ranger that wants to be Genji, yielding and Odachi and a Scar with a Bowser backpack. I hope you all enjoy, and if you have any questions, please feel free to shoot me a reply on this guide, especially if you have difficulty in any area.

I would like to point out that there is a massive giant zombie that likes to roam! Please avoid unless you have some good armor / melee weapon or ranged weapon (he can take a lot of headshots even and can 3 hit me still if I get stuck).

If there is any topic I can assist with or clarify better , as above, please let me know and I will update accordingly. Happy Hunting!
