The way CS mods load has been overhauled, breaking this mod, and recent changes to the vanilla game already address the issue this mod sought to fix.

A small rework of the Campaign respawn penalty to make it less impactful long-term without making death unpunishing. Requires Lua and CS for Barotrauma. Client-side Lua is not required: this mod runs entirely on the server.

After death, you will lose 75% of your skills and gain Reaper's Tax (if appropriate) as usual. However, you will gain your skills back at an increased speed, up to your original levels. You will not receive this boost if you have any amount of Reaper's Tax. If you die again before reaching your previous levels, the level you boost towards will decrease slightly.

This is to address an issue I have experienced where after a player dies, they want to just restart instead of respawning because of how long it will take for them to reach their previous skill levels. In addition, survivors feel guilty for fighting on, as they know their teammates lose out on skills. Fighting against the horrors is usually more fun, so this addresses this issue, without making death cheap: death is still punishing, and you still need to fight to survive.

i didn't even know bots could respawn, probably not: technically it should record data about any character who goes through the skill loss system, but there's a player check on the skill boost so it doesn't try to run on npcs (e.g. pirates) all the time and lag everything out

MLC doesn't affect cave generation (yet) so if you're getting checksum issues 99% of the time something is preventing MLC from running on the client or server. This is usually because a force run CS mod is crashing on the client and preventing MLC from running.

hmm, i couldn't get them to conflict on my end - i hear MLC can have this issue sometimes, so it's possible this mod increases the chance of that somehow

Upon investigation, it seems this mod and 'More Level Content - 1.0 Update' interact strangely, causing MLC to start errors with cave generation - oddly it didn't crash before, this may be some odd LUA fuckery.

i don't think this mod is causing them, it doesn't have anything to do with level generation - that error can happen randomly sometimes; if it's definitely the mod's fault i would need the full error to investigate it
