Help for New Players: Teleporters
By Love and French Toast
So lately I've realized there are a LOT of new players and I saw a lot of them making the same mistakes I and many others used to make early on into our time playing. So I decided that to help these good lads along I would start posting this little bit of help for anybody who may find it useful. It'll be something I try to post daily, including general tips, class specific things, loadout concepts, teamplay strategies and potentially even mvm tips but that would be later.

Today Engineers of TF2, I have tips for you.

The focus is the teleporter. This building is one often neglected by newer players in favor of the sentry or dispenser, but if used well this can easily be your most powerful tool and can make it so you singlehandedly ensure your team wins the game.

First off always ensure you have your teleporter entrance deployed when you leave spawn, you may not always need to make a teleporter exit but it's a good habit to have. That way in the case your team is walking a long distance, you can set up the exit and make sure the other team doesn't have room to breath or set up.

More about teleporters, when you place down the exit you're able to decide the direction they face. This is indicated by an arrow on the blueprint. Make sure this arrow is facing away from a wall, you can do this by pressing right click. This ensures that your teammates are safe from being backstabbed when they come through the teleporter.

And one last tip for the teleporter: before placing the entrance you can equip the eureka effect and place it in order for it to only take 100 metal to level up instead of 200. You can swap back to your preferred wrench immediately after while the tele remains at a 100 metal cost. This is just a trick to let you build your teleporters in half of the time it would usually take, giving you the advantage over the other team's engineer.

A bonus tip is that if you see your team has a level 1 teleporter entrance at spawn, swap class to engineer and level it up before doing what you were doing. you'll be doing your team a huge favor along with saving your engineer between 200-400 metal which they can instead use on their dispenser and sentry gun.

So just follow these tips oh wonderful gibus engineer and you'll see that in no time you too can carry your team to victory.

Also feel free to give suggestions for things I should write about in this little series. Either if you're a old player with some advice to share or something you've noticed or a new player that needs something cleared up. Anyway, until next time.
