Guide A
1. Download Wolfenstein 3D and run it once. (if you have already Wolfenstein 3D installed and played it, skip this step.)

2. Download ECWolf

3. Unzip the folder with ECWolf anywhere you like.

4. In steam library right click on Wolfenstein 3D, go to properties. (or click the gear icon

5. In general tab, at the bottom, below LAUNCH OPTIONS, enter this command below.

"full path to ecwolf.exe" %command%

e.g. "D:\Games\_PC MODS\Apps\ecwolf-1.3.3_x64\ecwolf.exe" %command%

Just copy the path from the address bar of the ecwolf folder and then don't forget to add \ecwolf.exe at the end.

Enjoy!
Guide B
1. Download ECWolf
2. Unzip ECWolf anywhere
3. Download HD sprites and new sounds https://www.moddb.com/games/wolfenstein-3d/addons/ecwolf-rmst
4. Unzip the ECWolf_RMST.zip inside ECWolf folder. Should look like this

5. Open Play WOLF3D Remaster.bat with notepad and delete everything.
6. Enter the following

@echo off cd D:\Games\_PC MODS\Wolfenstein 3D\ecwolf-1.3.3_x86\ ecwolf.exe -file ECWolf_RMST.pk3 ECWolf_RMST_SFX.pk3 ECWolf_RMST_CoffeFix.pk3

cd is the path to your folder with ecwolf.exe and the mod files. The path written above is just my example, your path could be different.

7. Copy the address of ECWolf folder.

8. In your Steam Library, select Wolfenstein 3D, open properties.

9. Paste the ECWolf address into LAUNCH OPTIONS bar, like this:
"file path ecwolf.exe" %command%
e.g.
"D:\Games\_PC MODS\Wolfenstein 3D\ecwolf-1.3.3_x86\Play WOLF3D Remaster.bat" %command%

Your path could be different.

10. If you don't like the new sounds, just delete ECWolf_RMST_SFX.pk3 file.

Have Fun!

It keeps starting up Noah Ark 3D instead of Wolfenstein 3D like WTF

When I have this command in steam Launch Options "D:\Games\_PC MODS\Apps\ecwolf-1.3.3_x64\ecwolf.exe I do not have the HD Sprites/Sounds Guide B settings, I only have the Guide A, vanilla setting on. When I change the path to "D:\Games\_PC MODS\Wolfenstein 3D\ecwolf-1.3.3_x86\Play WOLF3D Remaster.bat" %command% it does not launch.

I still have this command in steam LAUNCH OPTIONS, and it works.
"D:\Games\_PC MODS\Apps\ecwolf-1.3.3_x64\ecwolf.exe" %command%

How does your path look like?

The path "D:\Games\_PC MODS\Wolfenstein 3D\ecwolf-1.3.3_x86\ecwolf.exe" %command% is working for me (Windows 11 64-bit) the path into LAUNCH OPTIONS "D:\Games\_PC MODS\Wolfenstein 3D\ecwolf-1.3.3_x86\Play WOLF3D Remaster.bat" %command% isn't working at all for me. I can play Wolf with the .bat file without Steam but not with the Steam library.

Yeah, that a solution too. But I do not recommend to keep ecwolf there. Because any update of the game, can break everything. Usually people just drop ecwolf in the base folder and renamen it dosbox.exe, but as you can see in the discussion forum, many have problems after the update. Anyway ecwolf only needs those .WL6 files for the main game and .SOD files for spear of destiny.

Now ecwolf sould launch from anywhere, just copy those above mentioned files in the same folder. Files related to Spear of Desitny are in this directory ..\steamapps\common\Wolfenstein 3D\base\m1 . Copy all files with SOD extention.

To run mods you need to create the .BAT file.

So I ended up putting the exe in the base folder, and yeah, that seems to have done it
Sobrio  [author] 4 Jan, 2023 @ 9:54pm
Try this:
Delete the folder with ecwolf.exe. Unzip a new fresh folder. Go to ..\steamapps\common\Wolfenstein 3D\base
there should be 13 files with .WL6 extention. Copy all of them and paste in the folder with ecwolf.exe and launch it.

Yeah it seems ECwolf just doesn't want to work
Sobrio  [author] 4 Jan, 2023 @ 1:47pm
Also make sure that ECWolf works. Try to run directly from ecwolf.exe.

Alright, will give it a go
