So What Is It?
As stated in the overview, because the free bomb power-ups take no turns to place down, you can easily abuse them to artificially inflate your placing on the star meter. This is especially effective on turn based levels, and not very effective on timer based levels, since you do have to wait for the timer to cool down to get more free bombs

I'd like to note that this is not a fun way to play the game at all, since it removes any and all challenge. I would mostly recommend saving this trick for levels you're stuck trying to 3 star and have already tried, but to each their own. You could do almost the whole game like this too, if you really wanted to.
Step 1
This is an extremely easy trick. All you have to do is find a good level to use it on, have some very basic reasoning, and wait.

For our example we have optimal conditions. All types of power-ups, no time limit, and it's a weird one I kept getting stuck on.

Once your bombs are available, begin placing them just about everywhere on the map. This works ok if you just place a ton randomly, but much better if you set it up as a chain reaction. Try placing your bombs in the path of the last ones you put down, so they'll all set off each other in a single move, and identify ahead of time which one you need to activate first to set off the rest.

The bomb I set off first is labelled with '1'. The vertical bomb hits the horizontal one, which will hit the three vertical ones beside it and set off all the bombs in the other locations of the map.

Step 2: Profit

As you can see, I only used one move doing this but the entire board is changed and the bar is already above the 2 star point! Thanks to my trick, I can 3 star this level easy and never have to play it ever again. LIke I said, I would really only recommend doing this on levels that gave you hell and near the end of them, because it really makes it way too easy.
