Beskrivning
A TSL Enormous (128 x 80) Earth map made as realistic as possible using climate, topographic, and vegetation maps with upscaled landmass for areas with civilization clusters and island nations. Some modifications are made to enhance the experience of all civs.

Some differences with other TSL maps
    New Leader TSLs
  • Your favorite TSL map hasnt been updated for the new leaders? All new leaders (and their unique TSL if they have one) have been accounted for, and future leaders TSL will be added in as they come in.

    Upscaled Landmasses
  • The Middle East and Eastern Europe tends to be ignored for upscale in comparison to Western Europe despite having so many civs located there. Being the cradle of civilization, the region has been upscaled to fit ALL Middle East/Eastern Europe civs together (though discouraged for expansion reasons.)

  • Does that mean Western Europe is downscaled? Absolutely not. It is also upscaled (maybe not by much compared with other TSL maps though) Youre still going to have spacial problems if you do fit all of the Western European civs in. Go do whatever it is youre known for when you run out of space.

  • Ever had issues as Maya where you just dont have enough land for that 7-city design? Your favorite civs region has been upscaled to play to your strengths!

  • Ever played as Aztecs and thought "Huey Tiocalli is useless given i have a 1 tile lake despite being MY civs creation"? I dug up a map of what Texcoco used to look like before you filled it up. Now you have a 4 lake tile!

  • South East Asia has been upscaled to give breathing room for the civs there (not because its where most of my favorite civs are located)

Static Ley Lines
  • Ley Lines are finally here! While most TSL maps do not have Ley Lines unless you set resource generation to "Map Generated", this map has Ley Lines placed manually using a custom program made to inject Ley Lines into the static map data! Even better is that manually placed Ley Lines ignore the placement restriction, allowing them to pop up in Mountains, Forests, and other kinds of tiles usually guaranteed to not have Ley Lines so that they appear throughout the map regardless of starting location and also potentially saving up on precious tiles while getting the adjacency bonus!

This map is far from perfect despite the amount of geographical and cultural research I did for it and is actively being worked on. Found a bug? Did I miss a geographical feature crucial to play your favorite civ? Do you just know your country very well and see some important geographical oversight? Are there resources that should/shouldnt be where its supposed to be? Is there a mod you want this map compatible with?

Europe as a whole needs to be bigger, but I think that's not possible with Civ6's limits.

The best TSL map, bar none. Amazing work. Just a few suggestions:

Scotland deserves an upscale. There's really only enough room for one city in Scotland proper, and I wish it was viable (even if challenging) to have both them and England in the same world. Similarly, the Maori (NZ) could use a little more land, since they benefit from lots of unimproved tiles.

On the flip side, India's land is too good. Amazing resources, super defensible, lots of land to expand but not so much that you'll be beset by barbarians. I get that it's probably accurate geographically but it hurts the balance of the game world. They tend to get a massive lead almost every time I play. Some of their luxury/bonus resources could stand to be cut IMO.

It does not get crashed due to heavy asset usage?

There is no specific game speed i have in mind. I usually play on Standard with moderate scaling science/culture research time using Take Your Time Ultimate mod but i think thats more of a playstyle type of thing rather than a map thing.

What is the recommended game speed?

@Training Horses were not a thing in North America till the Europeans brought them in. If you look at central asia on your cheated map, youll see theyre littered with them. That being said, i dont think any of the NA civs used horses as their strategic resource. Have fun roleplaying!

@Lance Dunsten Her initial capital city is Tyre, so her starting location will remain Tyre. Theres nothing stopping her from building in Carthage though. In fact i believe i designed Tunisia with the intent that someones going to settle there. (its been years since i did my last design on the map so i could be wrong)

@Gleen Cross Im assuming youre talking about Bering Straight. I recently learned about sea currents and how they were effectively walls in the sea for ancient civilizations so i might reflect that into the map.

Wanted to say thanks for the map - its actually so good - but I notice that there's like only 2 or 3 Horses on the entire map? I am playing North America, I am up to turn 63 and not a single horse in North or South America...I even 'cheated' and revealed the map to see if I could find anything.

I would be nice to shift Dido position to match modern day Tunisia? Since she is suppose to be of Carthage.

Alright, after testing the map a little bit, I only have one suggestion... I think it would be better if you isolate all the continents by using "ocean" titles, so only the historical civs that had the tech to navigate (Norway and the Maori) can reach these continents in the early game. The more spaced out the continents with those kind of titles, the better imo, makes it more realistic

Please tell me the resources are located at the right spot, to have elephants in Japan is just heartbreaking lol
