Prologue
This scrap book was created for anyone else who finds themselves in a zombie/alien invasion, that is happening in Britain. (if it's somewhere else, I can't help you). With that said, This will teach you of the enemies, weapons, and equipment that you might tumble across, in this unfortunate situation. Good Luck!
Creatures of Basingstoke
Prowler
Prowlers are the most common hostile you'll be seeing during your time in Basingstoke. Fairly stupid and blind, their running speed is faster than the speed of your walk, yet slower than the speed of your run, so I suggest just running past them when possible. Just like every wonderful creature in the town of Basingstoke, a single bite from a Prowler will be enough to kill you on the spot. So if you really want to spill their parasitic guts, keep in mind that they take more damage when being attacked from behind, so sneaking up on them is beneficial, but even when going hand to hand, they die to any sharp melee weapon or firearm in a single hit, and get stunned by softer options, not to mention that they're weakened when stunned. Plus killing Prowlers is not only about survival, as them being former humans, they drop anything from money to food when you bash their non-existent brains in!

----------------

Swarmlet
Swarmelts are like little puppies, who just want to play with you, but kill you by accident. BUT DO NOT LET THEIR CUTENESS DECEIVE YOU. Swarmelts are as dangerous as prowlers, killing you in a single bite. They are also much faster than prowlers, being able to easily catch up to you. However, due to their dog-like nature, they are easily distracted. So if you find yourself in a situation, where you are being stalked by multiple swarmlets, throw a sandwich their way, and they will forget all about you. If you are willing to end them permanently, they die to almost anything. BUT swarmelts are almost always traveling in groups, so try to not bite off more than you can chew, and jump into 20 swarmlets with a stick. Plus, they are smarter than they look, as they can hide under traffic cones, and inside corpses, to attack you sneakily. Beware of that, so look out for any suspicious cones or skeletons.

-----------------

Hunter
Hunters are the common alien raiders that scout the planes of Basingstoke, searching for their next prey. They are way more aggressive than prowlers and swarmlets. Hunters, just like any other being you might come across, will devour you in a single bite, and with their speed, they can easily catch up to you. We advise you stay as far away from them as possible, unless you have a weapon. Speaking of weapons, hunters can be stunned by any big stick, yet the more soft hand weaponry like a truncheon, will do little to no damage to the beast. Hunter's skin is thick, and they are much harder to take out with your self made guns. But they are weak when stunned, meaning you can try stunning them, and then just tapping a single time with something like the nail gun for them to go down. Plus they are extremely vulnerable to fire, so if you have a flamethrower, we suggest you save it until you encounter a Hunter.

-----------------

Tentacles
Tentacles come in all shapes and sizes, and by that I mean, there are three types of tentacles. The Normal tentacle is easy to avoid, as they make loud vibrations while underground, and you can feel them if you are nearby. Beware: Tentacles are smart, and will try to lure you in with loot. Do not be deceived, and check carefully what loot you're getting and where. Sewer Tentacles are well, just that, tentacles that live in the sewers. You can identify where they are hiding, as you can see bubbles coming from the water, on the place where they are. Moving Tentacles, are also quite simple, they are tentacles that well, move. You can easily find them by seeing the ground crack, when they move. We do not suggest you kill them, as they are better left alone, plus, they can actually be helpful, as you can lure other creatures to the tentacles, for the tentacle to kill them, which is more beneficial than you might think, as creatures eaten by the Tentacles guarantee a rare drop.

-----------------

Phantom
If you thought Hunters were scary, wait 'till you see these guys. Phantoms are a tougher variation of Hunters that have the ability to cloak, only being revealed by their uncloaked eyes, so they'll be able to actually see. Thankfully, just like for a shadow, light does the job at combating the Phantoms, as they become uncloaked and extremely slowed down when focused by a light source, like you OMNI Torch for instance! Just like their visible, louder counterparts, Phantoms will devour you in a single snap of their alien jaws if you let them get too close. Being tougher, Phantoms take longer to kill with any weapons, other than the chainsaw, of course. These things are genuinely scary, kill 'em, or hide.

-----------------

Sentinel
Sentinels are the toughest and arguably the most dangerous creature found in Basingstoke. While not posing any threat by itself, the Sentinels have this really annoying ability called "Being really friggin loud and disorienting". Their screams attract all Hunters, Phantoms, and whatever other nasty aliens are in a 100 meter proximity radius of it, to your current location. Not only that, their ear-piercing screeching flashes and shakes your vision, allowing for panic to set in, meaning you can easily corner yourself if you're not careful. Not only that, the Sentinels, unlike what seems like every other creature you run into in this town, is actually not clinically blind and can see. Not only that, they see very well, so sneaking it almost always required once you hear their ethereal float, lest you want a bajillion angry alien hounds after you. However, even this beast has its Achilles heel, or rather, eye. Any damage done to the Sentinel's visual organ causes it certain death, weather that be pepper spray or even flash photography.
Weapons of Basingstoke.
Now that you know the threat, let's talk ways of neutralizing it. There are many ways of self defense during this zombie-alien invasion, so we'll be dividing weapons into even more categories for organization.
1.1 Soft Melee weapons
Let's go into probably your first wave of self defense during your time at Basingstoke. Again, probably the first, but not most common.

----------------

Pool Cue
These handy dandy beating sticks can be found in various bars present in Basingstoke, especially Red Lion Pub. While not the best choice, it is still better than nothing, being able to stun Prowlers and Swarmlets, and kill the latter from behind, or when they're stunned, as well as stunning Hunters when attacking them from behind. Being a flimsy wooden rod used for playing Pool, and not beating others, it breaks rather quickly, so I suggest you use it sparingly, and keep it until you find a better option of self defense.

----------------

Truncheon
Sticks actually made to beat people with! The Truncheons can be found in the Basingstoke Police Department, or in various police vehicles guaranteed to litter the roads during an invasion such as this. Overall, the Truncheon is a slightly more durable Pool Cue, but it's missing the ability to break open Ticket Machines, meaning they may be worse, depending on how you plan to go during this invasion. I'd give the same advice as with the Pool Cue: don't go too murder happy, and save it up 'till you find a better choice.

----------------

Cricket Bat
A rather rare soft melee, whilst it is possible to find naturally, it is really hard to predict where specifically. Overall, it's another Pool Cue situation, but this time, it can actually be used to create something else, which will be more helpful than your average soft weapon. But more on that later.

----------------

Frying Pan
Every good zombie invasion needs a Frying Pan! But this being a zombie-alien invasion, the Frying Pan is not that good... If you think about combat. Being the weakest melee weapon there is, the only thing it is capable of doing is stunning Swarmlets, and stunning Prowlers when attacking them from behind. This thing can't even break walls for crying out loud. BUT, it does have one saving grace: upon being broken, the Frying Pan guarantees to be turned into Scrap, and Scrap is something that is relatively rare, yet very important in crafting better survival tools. So for an efficient mind: See the Frying Pan as nothing but a scrap, and break it as soon as possible.

----------------

Splintered Wood
The Splintered Wood is objectively the worst weapon in the game, not just melee, no, over all. It is weak in every sense of the word: It breaks fast, does barely any damage, and has a short reach. But that's alright, since this is literally a left-over. Splintered Wood is what you're left with after your better weapons break (like the Pool Cue, Truncheon, Shovel, Rake,Cricket Bat, Spiked Bat, Fire Axe, Scimitar, etc.). However, just like most things in life, it's better to have it than to have nothing. It is still able to stun Swarmlets and Prowlers, the latter only when attacked from behind, so that's something. But let's be honest, 99% of time you won't even know that it's there, and then you'll just throw it away at your nearest Campsite. Just ignore it unless it's your only choice.
1.2 Blunt Melee weapons
Now for the most common self defense options: Blunt Melee weapons! The best way to differentiate them from Soft ones, is that the Blunt ones can stun Hunters, and is capable of killing Prowlers as well as Swarmlets.

----------------

Shovel
Even blunt weapons divide in two different types: Wooden, and OMNI. Let's start with the Wooden ones, specifically: the Shovel. Shovels are your standard way of defense, heck, I'd call it the average. Pretty slow attack speed, kills Swarmlets in one hit, stuns Prowlers and Hunters, and can kill the former from behind or when they're stunned. When breaks leaves behind Splintered Wood, and most commonly found at road-works, or other busy locations.

----------------

Wrench
The weakest OMNI tool in the perspective of self-defense. Just think Shovel, but more durable, and breaks into useful scrap, rather than useless Splintered Wood. Again, like I said, all the Blunt Melee weapons are basically the Shovel but with small tweaks here and there.

----------------

Hammer
The OMNI hammer! They're like Wrenches, but even more durable, and attack quicker. Plus, having even more durability when it comes to breaking cracked walls. Same as the Wrench, is found at construction sites and other worked-on places.

----------------

Crowbar
The OMNI Crowbar is the first weapon in this Scrapbook that you cannot find naturally, only being found and being able to be bought at official OMNI D.I.Y. Auto-vending machines. Ironically, the Crowbar is the best tool to rob said vending machines, along side any other thingamajig that might have goodies in it. While the rest of the tools when used to rob stuff are loud, therefore giving out your location to the aliens out to eat your guts, the Crowbar does the job silently, although not as instantly.
1.3 Sharp Melee weapons
Now, let's talk lethal. These weapons aren't made for utility or self defense, they're meant for assault! They're sharp, and deadly. The Sharp Melee weapons of Basingstoke!

----------------

Gardening Rake
Just like last time, let's start up with the weakest option, and work our way up. The Rakes are a the Shovel of the Sharp, as it kills Prowlers and Swarmlets anywhere you hit them, as well as being capable of stunning Hunters and Phantoms, and proving to be lethal for the former, but just like the rest of wooden weapons, it turns into Splintered Wood once its durability wears out. Found at construction sites and other work-heavy environments.

----------------

Spiked Cricket Bat
This is what you get when you mix the Cricket Bat with a handful of nails. A sharp weapon of mass kick-ass-action. Technically speaking, it is nothing more than a rake, but is less common, and cannot be found naturally, as you need to craft it yourself. It swings faster though.

----------------

Meat Cleaver
The Meat Cleaver is the best sharp melee in my opinion, it is not super scarce, being able to be found in various warehouses of Basingstoke, it breaks into Scrap, and it can kill every enemy, other than the Sentinels and Tentacles, a trend melee weapons will follow from now on. This thing one shots Swarmlets, Prowlers, and can one-shot Hunters from behind, or two shots them in the front (but it does NOT stun them). This thing kills Phantoms in three hits, with the first one actually stunning them. Overall, real good, if not maybe for breaking too easily.

----------------

Sledgehammer
I'm as surprised as you are, but yes, the Sledgehammer is technically a "sharp" weapon, since from a technical standpoint, the Sledgehammer is basically a more durable Meat Cleaver, that also destroys walls in only two hits, compared to 4 hits needed by most other weapons. However, carrying this massive stick around does slow you down, and it also attacks rather slowly. Just like the Crowbar, you cannot find the Sledgehammer naturally, only at the OMNI D.I.Y. Automatic Vending Machines, or at the underground dungeon located in the Basingstoke catacombs!
1.4 Super Sharp Melee weapons
Yeah, here in Basingstoke we got Super Sharp melees too, and just like the title describes them: They're your most lethal force!

----------------

Scimitar
The most common Super Sharp melee, being able to be found in the various treasure chests found in the Basingstoke sewage and transit systems. This pocket Excalibur does its job of slaying unholy abominations very well, killing Swarmlets, Prowlers, and Hunters in a single hit, and killing Phantoms in two to the front, or one to the back. Not to mention the large reach and fast speed at which this demon slayer works, making it your best melee for most of your time at Basingtoke, if you manage to find it, that is.

----------------

Fire Axe
This is a more scarce, slower version of the Scimitar. Unlike its faster, more traditional looking counterpart, the Fire Axe is found on ground level, but once again, in various hidden hide-outs, forcing you to actively look for it. It too is very strong, but as mentioned previously, slower than the Scimitar. P.S. A great way to get your hands on one of these is the secret hide out at the back door of Planet Hoff, just break the cracked wall and loot the dead suckers.

----------------

Chainsaw
This is technically the strongest weapon in the whole game, being able to kill everything in a single hit, combined with its continuous attack speed, just holding down the trigger is the most reliable way for getting out of sticky situations. However, for such a strong weapon, that can level even Sentinels in less than a second, it comes at a great cost. Multiple, in fact. When revved up, it slows you down, makes a lot of noise, and heck, it needs a moment to rev up. Not to mention that the Chainsaw requires ammunition in form of Petrol to function, which while can be naturally found in warehouses or bought at the OMNI D.I.Y. Automatic Vending Machines, isn't something common, plus can be used on other, more situational needed things, like to make improvised explosives or to fuel a long-range flamethrower. Plus, the Chainsaw can only be bought at the OMNI D.I.Y. Automatic Vending Machines (or OMNI Mini-Marts, but those sell literally everything).
2.1 Homebrew Firearms
Now, let's move to a more long ranged way of taking out the alien invaders, starting with the things that you'll probably get access to first, but it'll be from making them with your own hands.

----------------

ZipGun
Through the combination of a Pipe, some scrap, a handful of nails, and a bullet, you'll make what will be probably your first option for ranged defense: the ZipGun. While it does the same damage as an Official Firearm, such as the Pistol or an SMG, killing Swarmlets and Prowlers in a single hit, and Hunters and Phantoms in two. However, it has its hold-backs too, obviously. It is slow, has only one bullet in the chamber, and is incredibly inaccurate. Overall, I'd suggest saving your bullets and metal until you find a real weapon.

----------------

ZipCannon
Now, if you take all the same things that you used to craft a ZipGun, and switch up that bullet for a shell, you'll get the ZipCannon, and unlike its smaller, bullet based brother, this weapon is actually worth the trade off. While it is as slow and inaccurate as the ZipGun, and also has only a singular shell in the chamber. But there's one thing that makes this weapon actually kinda good (at least for early game): It uses Shells, an ammunition type that is used by not many weapons in the game, so shooting the ZipCannon doesn't feel as much of a waste as when compared to ZipGun which uses Bullets, a almost universally used ammunition type. Oh, this thing also one-shots anything short of Sentinel at point-blank, so It's actually useful when fending off a Hunter or a Phantom.

----------------

Mini Flamethrower
Now THIS is the best early game weapon. While at the first glance you might think it costs more to craft it, since it does, as you add a Hair Spray, Duct Tape, and a Zippy Lighter on top of the Scrap, Nails, and Pipe required, this weapon is actually easier to craft than either of the "Zip" brothers, as unlike actual bullets, everything you need to make a Mini Flamethrower is a lot easier to find. And so is its ammunition, Hair Sprays are usually very scattered during an invasion like this, so digging through trashcans should get you enough to defend yourself. And we're not even at the best part: This weapon is a flamethrower, it kills Swarmlets and Prowlers in a single hit, (although I wouldn't waste it on such low targets unless it's an emergency.) and more importantly it kills Hunters and Phantoms in a single hit, making it the best and ammo efficient way to take care of these threats permanently up until you run into some Official weapons, but even then the Mini Flamethrower is dead silent, so burning a Hunter alive with it won't attract any unneeded attention from any other passerby aliens.

----------------

Flamethrower
Going from the Mini to its big brother, the flamethrower is a lot harder to find materials for than the weapons that has come before it. It requires a Water Pistol as one of its ingredients, and those can only be found being sold at OMNI Mini-marts. Other crafting ingredients include: Zippy Lighter, Petrol, Pipes, Scrap, and Duct Tape. Unlike its smaller brother, the Flamethrower uses Petrol as its ammunition, and while still not extremely rare, this resource is still not common, being sold at OMNI D.I.Y. Automatic Vending Machines ot could be found in some Basingstoke Warehouses. The Flamethrower however can hold up to 20 releases of fiery goodness through the use of a single Petrol canister, compared to only 3 releases of the Hair Spray used by the Mini version. The Full-sized Flamethrower too has greater range, but damage wise it is the same, but now playing a more Area of Effect role, rather than a Hunter/Phantom killer.

----------------

Fumigator
Now, not all weapons presented here will be lethal, and this is one of those weapons. The Fumigator is a flamethrower-esque weapon that releases poisonous gas rather than fire. Costing a Water Pistol, Scrap, Pipes, Hair Spray and a Poison packet to craft, some of you might be wondering how could this non-lethal weapon compare to the Flamethrower, since both use the Water Pistol. Well, having only 5 sprays in a load, and using Poison packets as ammunition (which are also quite rare, but a bit more common than Petrol. can be found in the same places as Petrol.) the Fumigator releases poison clouds that knock out enemies who were coated in the smelly gas, or who entered it, as the poison lingers in the air for a short duration. This weapon is a lot more focused on Area of Effect than the flamethrower, having shorter, yet wider range, this weapon is meant for knocking out a large amount of dangerous enemies (like Phantoms or Hunters), especially at places like choke-points. Just remember that this is the non-lethal alternative, so the unconscious enemies will get up a few minutes after being knocked out by the gas.

----------------

Holy Water Pistol
This is only available to you if you have access to the Holy Water, which in turn is only available to you if you are a Vicar, so I'm sorry all y'all non-believers, but you won't be able to get your hands on the Holy Water Gun, which is a shame since this is easily the strongest weapon in the game. Since the Holy Water instantly kills any enemy it touches, pouring it into a long range Water Pistol insures you taking more alien lives than ever before! Nothing more to add, if you get your hands on this: you win.

----------------

Tranq Pipe
Similarly to the Fumigator, this is a non-lethal way of dealing with threats. Being a long range knock-out tube, you might think it's great for taking care of tougher enemies like Phantoms, by silently knocking them out, and moving along, however, there are too many hold backs concerning this weapon, specifically its ammunition. The Tranq Pipe uses Poisoned Darts as ammo, but making Poisoned Darts loses you two tools, Poison and Darts, which could be used greatly elsewhere. The Poison packets could be better used to make Poison Bottles, which are a large area of effect knock-out, a mini-flashbang if you will, as well as serving as ammo for the Fumigator, or being used to craft improvised explosives. While the Darts can be used in another weapon we'll discuss soon, and serve a much better job there. The Tranq Pipe's Poisoned Darts turn into regular Darts when being picked up, and while that doesn't seem bad at all, that's still wasted Poison. I'd suggest saving your Poison packets and Darts for other, better options, than using wasting them here.
2.2 Improvised Firearms
These are tools that were not meant for combat, but in desperate time such as this, just about anything should be used for defense, if it could be.

----------------

Hair Spray
Now some of you might notice that this is in fact not a firearm, but it still goes into this listing as it can in fact be used as a weapon of self defense. While against your average enemies, the Hair Spray is nothing more than a temporary blindness for them, making the creature run around erratically until the pain in its eyes goes away. However, against a Sentinel, this is beyond lethal. As discussed in the creature chapter, we discussed that Sentinel's weakspot is its rather large eye, so the use of Hair Spray if enough for them to fold. Also, the Hair Spray can be used as ammunition for the Mini Flamethrower, so 3 in one! Ammo, Sentinel-killer, and enemy blinder!
----------------

Pepper Spray
The Pepper Spray is the same thing as the Hair Spray, just a tad rarer, and blinds enemies for longer. So is it better than the Hair Spray? Well, that depends. While Pepper Spray is better at temporary blinding, it cannot be used as ammunition for the Mini Flamethrower, and is no different in the job of killing Sentinels from Hair Spray, since instant death is still instant death, you can't get any faster than that. The one part of Pepper Spray that is marginally worse than the Hair Spray however is the crafting of it: Using three pepper packets which could be used in food to prove lethal results, as well as using up a Hair Spray, which could be used better else where. So while if you find one naturally, the Pepper Spray is fine, I suggest you never actually go out of your way to craft one, since it is nothing than a waste of resources.

----------------

Fire Extinguisher
Can be found naturally, usually in the underground transit systems of Basingstoke, while it can be used to extinguish fires on the ground, like the name suggests, it can also be used to temporarily blind enemies, but unlike the Pepper Spray or Hair Spray, this does not kill Sentinels. So I suggest sticking to the name, and only using it when you need to go through some really annoying ground fires.

----------------

Stun Gun
Finally, a somewhat ranged weapon. The Stun Gun can be found atthe Basingstoke Police Department, and it uses Cells for ammo. The weapon, as the name suggests, stuns nearly any enemy you attack with it instantly, for a short duration. The range is limited, and there's honestly not much to talk about with it. It is good early on, but better, more permanent choices come in later on.

----------------

Crossbow
Found in the treasure chests underneath the town, or being sold at OMNI Military Automatic Vending Machines, the Crossbow is a great tool for both offense and defense. It is ghostly silent, its ammo is reusable, as you can pick up the Darts you shoot, and its damage is not half bad, killing Swarmlets in one hit, Prowlers in two, Hunters in three, and Phantoms at four. I don't think there's much I can say on this weapon other than it is very reliable, and is always a good choice to have around, just in case.

----------------

Nailgun
Yet another great tool that can be used for violence! The Nailgun, usually found at construction sites or sold at the OMNI D.I.Y. Automatic Vending Machines, uses nails for ammunition. It is quite similar to the Crossbow in terms of damage, and has 10 nails in a clip rather than only one Dart, but it is loud, and has shorter range due to nails falling after some distance. This is a great weapon to have just in case, but also can serve as your main way of defense when needed.

----------------

Nail Scatter-Gun
Crafted using a Nailgun, Pipes, and Scrap, the Scatter Nailgun is your average VLAD-1000 Nailgun, spewing 10 nails in a single shot, eviscerating any alien daring to confront you. Being similar to the ZipCannon, with having only one shot per clip, yet using Nails as ammunition rather than Shells. While not as good as the standard Nailgun, if you're looking for a stronger punch, and other options are unavailable, this weapon might just suffice.

----------------

Heavy Nailgun
Similarly to the Nail Scatter-Gun, the Heavy Nailgun is like a slightly better version of the other Zip weapon, being the ZipGun. Shooting a single heavy Nail which does similar damage as a bullet fired from a Pistol or SMG, yet having only one of said nails in a clip. Overall, just think of this as a more accurate ZipGun. Oh, but having it out does slow you down, so keep that in mind.
2.3 Official Firearms
And now, for actual weapons. Maximum lethality for minimal effort!

----------------

Pistol
Ah, the Pistol, the most reliable weapon a person could ask for in an apocalyptic event such as this. The Pistol uses standard Bullets as ammunition, has a rather good accuracy, holds 9 bullets in a clip, and does a good amount of damage. Think of it as a ZipGun but actually good, having a larger clip, faster firing rate, faster reload, and good accuracy. Overall, this is your reliable sidearm! Just keep in mind that shooting makes a lot of noise. Can be found at military-heavy areas, or bought at the OMNI Military Automatic Vending Machines.

----------------

SMG
At first you might believe that an SMG is better than a Pistol in every way, and while you're correct in some ways, there is one thing that holds it back from being truly the best. But SMG is still a really good weapon to have on hand. Using Bullet ammunition, the SMG holds 20 Bullets in a clip, and has an extremely fast firerate, but for that it trades off its accuracy, borderline wasting ammo past mid-distance shots. If you're looking for a more in-your-face way of self-defending-offense, the SMG is for you! Found at the same places as the Pistol.

----------------

Shotgun
Now THIS is what you should be saving your Shells for. 5 Shells in a clip, fast fire rate, fast reload, and a rather accurate spread too, this is hands down the best Shotgun in Basingstoke! At least so far. Once you get the Shotgun, it will become your BFF at dealing with literally every enemy, as it has potential to instantly kill any enemy in a single shot, yes, including Tentacles. I wouldn't recommend using it all the time, but once the situation gets hairy, or you need to run past a horde of big baddies, the Shotgun got your back. Can be found in same places as the Pistol.

----------------

Sawn-off
The Sawn-off is more of an expected guarantee than something super useful, being mostly a welcome trope, since as we know, every good invasion needs a double-barrel. Technicality wise the Sawn-off is nothing more than a double-barreled ZipCannon, with a faster reload, and while ZipCannon is good, and this is basically ZipCannon but better, once you find the Shotgun, you won't need this nor the ZipCannon anymore, unless you want to run around with a double barrel just because it's freakin' awesome. Can be found locked in safes or at the OMNI Military Automatic Vending Machines.

----------------

Revolver
The Revolver is a stronger pistol, with less ammunition and a slower reload. Having good accuracy and high damage, this should act as any revolver in any other game that has a revolver, but being very loud, the one we have here at Basingstoke might not be the best choice. While high damage is appreciated, the smaller magazine, slower fire rate, and slower reload are more dangerous, making the weapon weaker in this way of balance, as in the case of an alien-zombie invasion such as this, speed and stealth are as, if not more, important as damage, so the Revolver being slow makes it a more dangerous tool to use than your trusty Pistol. Found in the same places as the Sawn-ff.

----------------

Rifle
The Rifle has a very similar story to the Revolver, being basically a super strong and accurate ZipGun, but as mentioned previously, the one-shot clip and slow reload of the Rifle make it quite risky to use, and while it can prove very useful with taking out important targets, such as sentinels, in the grand scheme of survival, it is a lot more dangerous to run around with a super strong yet super slow rifle, than a relatively weaker, but fast SMG, or even the Pistol. The Rifle can be found in the treasure chests found in the sewage and transit systems of Basingstoke, or bought at the OMNI Military Automatic Vending Machines.
2.4 Attatchments to Firearms
Some weapons you can find or make yourself here in Basingstoke can have certain attachments applied to them, making them better in some way or another.

----------------

Aiming Laser
From least to most useful, the Aiming Laser t is certainty the most flashy attachment, and while it can help aiming, since you can actually see where your gun is pointed, it doesn't serve any more uses than that. Crafted using scrap, pipe, duct tape, and a laser pen, of course. Can be attached to: Crossbow, Tranq Pipe, Pistol, SMG, Revolver, Rifle.

----------------

Targeting Sights
This is the least noticeable upgrade when looking outside, but it does serve a great role of tightening the spread of your weapon, allowing certain weapons, like the SMG, to more useful at mid to long range. Crafted using crap, duct tape, pipe, and water bottle. Can be attached to: Crossbow, Pistol, SMG, Revolver, Rifle.

----------------

Silencer
And now the most useful attachment: the Silencer. Just like the name suggests, it makes your weapon completely silent when firing, being incredibly useful not only for sneaking, but in general, if you don't want to attract unwanted attention from passerby invaders. Crafted using scrap, pipe, and four whole duct tapes. Can be attached to: ZipGun, ZipCannon, Pistol, SMG, Shotgun, Revolver, Rifle.
Throwables of Basingstoke.
Now let's talk about things you throw! AKA: The Throwables! Since there's many different types of Throwables, we'll be dividing them too!
3.1 Throwable Weapons
To keep up with our previous chapter, let's go over the throwable weapons first!

----------------

Dart
This will most likely be your first throwable way of offensive-defense, the darts are really, really weak. Killing Swarmlets in 2 hits, and Prowlers in 6! BUT, there is one thing that they're great for: killing stunned enemies. You see, when stunned, most enemies are marginally weaker, meaning now you can kill stunned Prowlers and Swarmlets in a singular Dart, and even kill stunned Hunters and Phantoms, who are immune to darts when not stunned, in just 2 to 3 Dart throws, making the Darts a great way of reusable finishers, since Darts cannot break, and are able to be picked up once thrown. Darts can be found in various bars or can be crafted using Scrap, Pipe, Nails, and Duct Tape. Can damage walls, but cannot break them.

----------------

Tranq Darts
The existence of these makes the existence of Tranq Pipe even more questionable to me, since functionality wise they are the same, only the Tranq Darts being thrown for shorter distances and at an awkward angle. Functionally speaking, this is an instant stun on any enemy you hit with them, yes, including Hunters and even Phantoms. But, unlike normal Darts, after being thrown (and doesn't even need to hit anything, just thrown), the Tranq Dart turns into a normal Dart on pickup, meaning that Tranq Darts are not as infinitely reusable as their less poisoned brotheren, and require Poison packets to make more Tranq Darts. Overall they're fine, you make them by combining a Poison packet with a couple of Darts.

----------------

Throwing Knife
Now THIS, is what happens when you take a Dart, and make it actually good. The Throwing Knife kills Prowlers, Swarmlets, and Hunters in a single hit, and kills Phantoms in two. Plus, unlike the Dart, the Throwing Knife can actually break cracked walls, Ticket Machines, and OMNI Automatic Vending Machines. Just like the Darts, the Throwing Knife are infinitely retrievable. Oh, and it also blows up barrels for extra cool factor. Can be found near warzone areas, spewn out by a Tentacle after you feed it another enemy, or bought at the OMNI Military Automatic Vending Machines.
3.2 Throwable Food
Now, this is the most common skill you'll need to learn: distracting the hungry alien man-eaters, with some baked goods, as well as spiking those baked goods for good measure.

----------------

Sandwich
Ah yes, the most common food source anywhere in the world, a good ol' Sandwich. Once thrown, the Sandwich will land and let its mouthwatering aroma fill the air, catching the attention of any aliens close enough to get a whiff of the baked goodness, most of the time, the enemies will forget all about you, and will start chasing the newly thrown snack, only coming back to kill you once they're done devouring the delicious meat-n-bread that you left for them, buying you time to escape. Found almost anywhere, or could be bought at the OMNI Food Automatic Vending Machines.

----------------

Extra Hot Sandwich
Let's get lethal! By mixing in some good ol' spice into the Sandwich, you can set the enemy that've eaten the snack on literal fire, causing them to freak out and then die shortly after. This can actually cause a good chain reaction, where other aliens would come to feast on the still burning flesh of their fallen brotheren, catching on fire themselves in the process. A single Extra Hot Sandwich can go a long way.

----------------

Poisoned Sandwich
Now this might be a bit of a waste of Poison packets in my opinion, it acts like a normal sandwich, but knocks out the enemy that eats it. Wasting a whole Poison packet on a single enemy is not really a fair trade compared to the other options, so I suggest to refrain from poisoning your food, unless you have no other choice.

----------------

Spiked Sandwich
Now, not necessarily good, but a very interesting thing you can do to your food is spiking it with Instant Coffee, causing the alien eating it to become hyperactive, running around all crazy, attacking anything near it, including other aliens. And while I think that there are better ways to use your Sandwiches as well as your Instant Coffees, this is still really fun to see.

----------------

Explosive Sandwich
An odd contraption made from Petrol, Poison, Chili sauce, and a Sandwich, this thingamajig upon being eaten, well, explodes. It's an explosive... Sandwich. Yeah.

----------------

Sausage Roll
This is basically a sandwich but unlike the more fragile pastry, the Sausage Roll is more durable, which means it can be picked back up and reused if it wasn't eaten.

----------------

Sausagebomb
Made from Scrap, Duct Tape, Explosive Brew, and a Sausage Roll, this is basically the same thing as the Explosive Sandwich, but uh... Sausage. Unfortunatly, the durable Sausage Roll does not survive the explosion, so you cannot reuse it.

----------------

Kebab
Same as Sandwich

----------------

Extra Hot Kebab
Same as Extra Hot Sandwich

----------------

Poisoned Kebab
Same as Poisoned Sandwich

----------------

Spiked Kebab
Same as Spiked Sandwich

----------------

Explosive Kebab
Same as Sausagebomb
3.3 Throwable Explosives
More lethal! More deadly! More loud! More explosive! It's time to talk about everyone one's favorite things: things that go boom!

----------------

Poison bottle
What? The very first thing we talk about is not even explosive? Yep, we'll be classifying any Area of Effect throwable items as "explosive", sorry. Anyway, the Poison bottle, made from a Water Bottle and a Poison packet, upon being thrown breaks open into a poison cloud similar to one of the fumigator. This weapon is quite strong, especially when you need to take care of multiple enemies at once in a tight spot. But, just like with everything, there might be some other, better ways to use your poison.

----------------

Molotov
Everyone's favorite Slavic alcoholic way of offense: the Molotov Cocktail. Needing Petrol and Water Bottle to be made, and requiring a Zippy Lighter to actually throw, this mass-arson tool is great at clearing out large groups of enemies permanently, just make sure not to catch on fire yourself. Just like with the Poison Bottle, there might be other better ways to use your petrol.

----------------

Holy Water
Only available if you're a Vicar, as stated previously, the Holy Water kills any and every enemy it hits instantly, one touch is enough. Plus it is really easy to make, only needing two Water Bottles. This is the best throwable in all of Basingstoke hands down, but if you're not a Vicar, too bad.

----------------

Explosive Brew
Finally! Our first proper explosive in the chapter! The Explosive Brew could be mangled together from a can of Ultra Brew, some Petrol, and a few Nails for good measure. This pub-invented war-crime explodes on impact with just about anything, so keep in mind your surroundings and distance when throwing one. Or don't even throw on! The Explosive brew could be used to craft some other, better explosives. Overall, a real great thing.

----------------

Pipebomb
Self made Pipebomb! Made from a pipe, poison, and petrol, as well as requiring a Zippy Lighter to be thrown, the Pipebomb is like the Explosive Brew, but instead of exploding on contact, it explodes after some time, when its fuse is finished.

----------------

Dynamite
Same as the Pipebomb, but can be found naturally at construction sites, or bought at the OMNI D.I.Y. Automatic Vending Machines.

----------------

Frag Grenade
Same as Dynamite, but does not require a Zippy Lighter to be thrown, and is instead found near warzones or can be bought at the OMNI Military Automatic Vending Machine.

----------------

Time Bomb
Made from an Explosive Brew, a component, a Battery and some duct tape, this is, just as the name suggests, a bomb that explodes after some time. Think of it as a self-made Hand Grenade, as it too does NOT require the Zippy Lighter to be used.

----------------

Proximity Bomb
Basically the same thing as the Time Bomb, down to the recipe, but instead of exploding after some time, it explodes when there's an alien nearby.

----------------

Egg Bomb
Works similarly to the explosive-foods we've discussed earlier, but this time attracts the aliens by sound, and explodes based on a timer, rather than when consumed. Made from scrap, duct tape, Ultra Brew, component, and Eggtimer.

----------------

Flashbang Grenade
Perhaps the best Throwable Explosive in the game, which is ironic since it does no damage. The Flashbang stuns any and all enemies in its rather large radius of effect, as well as instantly killing any Sentinels who've seen the explosion, due to their eye weakpoint. While most of the time a more lethal explosive would be better, where the Flashbang strives is when you're pinned, and need a quick get-out-of-jail-free card, which with the Flashbang having absolutely no negative effect on the player, means you can just throw it at you're feet and all the enemies that were chasing you seconds ago would get knocked out, giving you time to run off. Can be found at Basingstoke Police Stations, various Police Vehicles, or bought at the OMNI Military Automatic Vending Machines.
3.4 Throwable Miscellaneous
Here are some throwables that don't really go into a specific classification, so I'll group them all together.

----------------

Fruit
Found almost anywhere, or could be purchased at the OMNI Food Automatic Vending Machines, the fruit can only really be used to "Newton" the alien invaders by throwing it at their heads, temporarily knocking them out. I'd suggest saving the Fruit up, to later use it to make some Juice.

----------------

Water Bottle
Very similar to the Fruit, as it too can stun enemies, found basically anywhere, and could be purchased at the OMNI Drinks Automatic Vending Machines, but just like with the fruits, I'd suggest you refrain from using it, and instead save it for better crafts. Oh, and it also can extinguish fires that you throw it at.

----------------

Flare
A kinda worse food-like item, that attracts enemies through light, which is the arguably weakest attraction force, as the enemies can still hear you, not to mention they loose interest in the flares rather quickly. Can be found in the various Police Vehicles, or the Basingstoke Police Department.

----------------

Squeaky Toy
Attracts enemies
Can be dropped by an alien eaten by the Tentacle, or bought at the OMNI Automatic Mini-Mart, this is another food-like item wanna-be, as it attracts enemies through sound, and could later be picked up and reused, but overall, kinda really meh. Just use food if you need to distract an alien.

----------------

Eggtimer
Similar to the Squeaky Toy in every way, but instead of making one sound, it makes continuous sounds, attracting more enemies, and muting out the sounds of your footsteps. Is a part of one crafting recipe.

----------------

Noisemaker
Same as the Eggtimer, but instead of being found naturally or bought, you make it yourself from way too much scrap, pipe, duct tape, a battery and a component.

----------------

Boombox
Same as the Eggtimer, but can only be bought at an OMNI Automatic Mini-mart. Plus it is literally worse than the Eggtimer since you can't use it as a crafting ingredient, and it is not reusable, disappearing after a single use. But the beats are kinda fire though.
Equipment of Basingstoke.
In this chapter I'll tell you about the various equipment that I couldn't really classify into their own chapters, but still need to talk about.
4.1 Consumables
Let's talk foods! Or rather, drinks. Drinking various substances here in Basingstoke can actually effect you in various useful ways!

----------------

Fruit Juice
Some nice ol' Juice, can be made from 3 fruits, or bought at the OMNI Drinks Automatic Vending Machine, upon being drank, the Juice gives you better eyesight, allowing you to see much better without the need for you OMNI Torch. However, even with the Juice's effects you won't be able to see lootable places, so you might still need to shine your torch around to see if you can get any goodies. The Juice lasts the longest of the drinks.

----------------

Coffee
Made from mixing a Water Bottle with some Instant Coffee, or bought at the OMNI Drinks Automatic Vending Machine, drinking this will result in your running speed being greatly increased, allowing you to run far far away! This however does not effect your walking speed, but it does speed up how fast you do things like unlocking doors. The effects of Coffee last the shortest.

----------------

Ultrabrew
The Ultra Brew has the Ultra in the name for a reason. Drinking this turns you into your average football seeing someone who cheers for the other team in the pub, causing your melee attack damage to increase dramatically, being able to kill Prowlers with Frying Pans and Phantoms with Hammers, this is certainly one of the strongest drinks if you're in a tight spot and have literally any melee weapon on hand, as it can allow you to carve your way through the alien invaders, Doom Guy style. Can be bought at OMNI Drinks Automatic Vending Machines.
Prologue
This Scrapbook is still a Work in Progress. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
