Play Splinter Cell Double Agent on STEAM DECK

I had Splinter Cell Double Agent working on my Steam Deck as of November 2022.

Although Splinter Cell Double Agent is listed as unplayable on Steam Deck, you can play it if you install it correctly.

Just follow this guide.

Start from the regular Steam Deck mode, there is no need to go to the desktop mode. From your Steam Library, find Splinter Cell Double Agent. Click INSTALL.

The first window that should pop up from the install wizard is the language select. I selected English


Next the Physx Agreement will pop up, click I AGREE


This is the most important step. Unselect every box except AGEIA PHYSX RUNTIME ENGINE. It should be greyed out. Then click INSTALL


Give the Steam Deck time to install the game, then click CLOSE once it is completed.


Now just boot up the game and get playing. Enjoy!



I think the reason why this works is because the if you install all the other check box components, Steam OS fails to load the game.

A quick update on a question that has come up:

Someone asked if I’m able to play multiplayer, even just multiplayer by myself with bots. I’m reporting back to say that, regardless of how I tried to install the game, the game checks for anti-cheat software or something before loading up the multiplayer menu and so the game just crashes on the steam deck when I click on multiplayer.

I’m a bit late, but you’re welcome! And thank you to anyone that gave me awards.

I know this is not a new game, so I imagine anyone here is probably coming back for nostalgia. That was the case for me. I made this because of my love for Splinter Cell and my loyalty to Sam Fisher. I started playing SC on the GameCube back in the day and I’m happy to hear of a perspective new game coming out for PC in the relative future.
