This guide is for those who can't launch the game or game won't start for them after clicking launch and see the game running in task manager but not doing anything etc. after the latest 4.0 update
After troubleshooting like skip command , verify files , dx switching etc.

Steps to fix the issue

*Open your witcher 3 installation folder
*Delete the bin folder
*then open the dlc folder and delete the bob folder
*then delete the files in main installation folder by selecting from launcher-configuration.json to
zlib1.dll
*re verify the files and wait for the files to be redownloaded again
*start the game with dx11/12 whatever you prefer
*enjoy the game
*and for those people who are getting script or function or any kind of error message
for example -
"Error [content0]game\player\playerwitcher.ws(1128): Could not find function 'GetHorseMode'

Warning [content0]engine\environment.ws(30): Global native function 'EnableDebugOverlayFilter'
was not exported from C++ code.
Warning [content0]engine\environment.ws(32): Global native function 'EnableDebugPostProcess'
was not exported from C++ code.
Warning [content0]engine\showflags.ws(11): Global native function 'DebugSetEShowFlag' was not
exported from C++ code.

*delete the folder that is giving the error , like if its from content0 then delete the folder entirely and *then re verify and let it redownload the game file
*and please do not verify while you have mods installed , it messes with the verification of the files so
please keep that in mind while verifying.

@Shona thx, what i did was moving (cut&paste) my installed mods folder to different folder.

Now game can launch without script crash

already did and still crashing, i guess i just need to wait for a hotfix or patch from cdpr

I have a folder called "mods" in the main folder of the game. So it was easy to delete all of them, never used vortex.

The path is not clear what folder it is actually. I search over an hour for the folder that gave me the error and didn't found it and as i wrote i reminded that i have mods installed.

have you tried deleting the folder's that gave the error?
it saves you the headache of reinstalling the game

@Shona I have uninstall Vortex. How do i uninstall mods when i can't access Vortex anymore? do i have to clean reinstall Witcher3?

Script Error are from Mods, remove them, and the game will start. Had the same issue and reminded that i had installed a few mods.
