you can generate more momentum by kinda half-strafing left and right while b-hopping, also if you spam e on the microwave it'll skip you to the anti-mass spectrometer room hope this helped

yeah for that one you need to shoot the cart a lot of times at the beginning of the chapter

I have a glitch where I can't get the achievement "Off the rail" (Every time I try beating On a rail without the cart my game softlocks at the end of the chapter)

there is a really simple thing that confuses people for that achievement, you need to do trigger the "I AM THE HALF LIFE!" cutscene in chapter 19 when the gman challenges you to a fight to the death. the game checks if you have did all the cutscenes and chapters.
