Introduction
This guide will cover how to unlock every achievement in Sonic Frontiers. The achievements are almost all tied to progression/collection, so it should be fairly easy regardless of skill or familiarity with the series. This game will take anywhere from 15-20 hours depending on how you choose to progress through the game.

Tips
  • There are no missable achievements, but it is recommended that you go for achievements after completing your playthrough to make it easier to understand everything.
  • It is recommended that you complete any challenges, character side stories, and guardian encounters you come across in your playthrough in order to reduce backtracking later. Opening every portal in any given map will also unlock fast travel.
  • Red Seeds of Power, Blue Seeds of Defense, and Kocos are all able to be farmed easily through Big's Fishing Spot. See the "Stats Achievements" section for information.
  • Playing and completing the game on hard mode will unlock a secret boss fight, an alternate credits song, and a secret ending, but is not required for achievements.
  • None of the DLC content is required for 100% achievement completion.

Main Story Achievements
The following achievements are automatically unlocked as you progress through the main story.

Unknown Threat

Defeated a guardian for the first time.

The Journey Begins

Completed the Kronos Island tutorials.

The Beginning

Defeated the Titan and completed the main story on Kronos Island.

Ancient Defiance

Defeated the Titan and completed the main story on Kronos Island.

Futile Resistance

Defeated the Titan and completed the main story on Chaos Island.

Hope Across Ages

Defeated the Titan and completed the main story on Ouranos Island.

A Land at Peace

Defeated the final threat and completed the main story.
Map-specific Achievements
Each island in the game (except for Rhea Island) has three achievements for completing each challenge, opening every portal, and viewing every character side story.

I would recommend going for them in the aforementioned order (challenges -> portals -> side stories) as they line up naturally. Once every portal on a specific island is open you can use them for fast travel. Every side story will be within close distance of a portal location.

The three can be identified on the map as the following icons:
Icon
Name
Challenges
Portals
Side Stories

The in-game map allows you to filter out these specific icons to make it easier to see where they are. You could also use mapgenie [mapgenie.io] to see and keep track of everything.

You are also able to drop a marker on the map to let you know where to go.

Island Explorer

Completed every challenge on every island and fully revealed their maps.

Challenges are generally pretty straight forward, however, here are links to videos of every island's challenge in case you are confused.
(Shoutouts to Stickman Guides and Trophy Tom for the excellent video guides!)

Island Memories

Repaired all Portals on every island.

Portals can be repaired by obtaining Portal Gears. Most portals require just one, but some do require up to three. You can obtain Portal Gears by defeating guardians (the mini bosses) scattered around the map.

Island Expert / Expert Historian

Viewed all Side Stories.

You can view side stories by exchanging Memory Tokens with main characters around each island. Amy will appear on Kronos, Knuckles will appear on Ares, Tails will appear on Chaos, and Sage will appear on every island.

Memory Tokens are the glowing collectibles that are scattered around the open zone map, usually at the end of platforming challenges. They do not transfer between islands but are fairly simple to obtain. If you would like to obtain them quicker, you can do so through Big's Fishing Spot, where they are worth 5 Fishing Tokens. Visit the "Stat Achievements" section for more information.
Stat Achievements
The following achievements are earned through leveling up all four of your stats which include strength, defense, ring count, speed.

Herculean / Hardened / Hearty / Hypersonic Hedgehog

Raised all stat levels to MAX

These stats are able to be increased by exchanging items with the Elder Koco and Hermit Koco.
396 seeds of each type and 2386 Kocos are required to max out stats. These numbers are of course assuming each level is untouched. By the end of the game, you'll have likely gotten a couple levels in each stat.

The easiest and fastest way to obtain these are through Big's Fishing Spot.

Big's Fishing Spot

Big's Fishing Spot can be accessed by entering the "purple" portal located on each island. It is denoted by a fish icon on the map. This area is important for achievement completion as it is the easiest and quickest method of farming Red Seeds of Power, Blue Seeds of Defense, and Kocos.

In order to play the fishing minigame, you must exchange Purple Coins. The easiest way to obtain these coins would be to wait for a Starfall. During a Starfall (which is randomly occurring), you get the chance to easily obtain a huge amount of Purple Coins for simply collecting the star fragments. The first time it happened for me, I was able to net myself around 400, which was enough to get every item-related achievement.

Each fish you catch will award you anywhere from 8 to 64 Treasure Tokens. Occasionally, you may also fish up a Golden Ticket, which can be exchanged for any item of your choosing. Ouranos Island (the final island) will net you the biggest rewards, so you should fish exclusively on that island's fishing location.

Red Seeds of Power and Blue Seeds of Defense are 2 tokens each. 20 Kocos are 3 tokens. Memory Tokens (which are not interchangeable between islands) are 5 tokens.
Misc. Achievements
A good majority of the following achievements you will have probably unlocked naturally.

Threats Identified

Defeated all guardian types.

As the description states, you need to defeat at least one of every type of guardian.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDR-CXBnLps
The following is a list of all of them ordered by the island they first appear on:

Kronos Island
  • Ninja (Tutorial area)
  • Tower (Right after Ninja)
  • Asura
  • Squid
Ares Island
  • Shark (Southernmost guardian. Partially hidden within the sand at first.)
  • Strider
  • Sumo (North of 2-7 on separated island.)
  • Tank (North of 2-6)
Chaos Island
  • Spider (Bottom right corner of big island)
  • Shinobi (South of 3-1)
  • Fortress (Near 3-7)
  • Squid (On the 3-5 island, counts separately from the one on Kronos)
  • Excavator (To the left of 3-4)
Ouranos Island
  • Red Pillar (Near spawn)
  • Caterpillar (East of 4-2, atop the hill)
  • Kunoichi (Near fishing spot)
  • Ghost (North of 4-2. Must interact with purple statue to trigger spawn.)
  • Silver Hammer (West of 4-3)
  • Master Ninja (Southmost guardian on the second island. (In the northeast))

Easy Prey

Defeated all enemy types.

Similar to the last achievement. This achievement will have you defeat atleast one of every unique standard enemy. There is a total of 22 including both open-zone and cyberspace enemies.

The following list will be ordered by the order they appear in:

Open-zone
  • Soldier (first enemy)
  • Bubble
  • Banger (wheel enemy)
  • Shell
  • Spring (Ares island)
  • Jellyfish (Ares island, will fly towards sky and shoot out smaller enemies)
  • Rail enemy (Ares island, will form a rail behind it)
  • Turret (Ares island)
  • Cyclone (Chaos island)
  • Vulture (Chaos island, must be homing attacked from above it)
  • Absorption enemy (Rhea and Ouranos island)
  • Wolf (Near 4-1 in Ouranos, moving in a pack and will surround you, must parry to defeat)

Cyberspace
  • Motobug (first enemy)
  • Eggrobo (1-2)
  • Buzzer (bee-like enemy, 1-6)
  • Chopper (fish enemy, 1-6)
  • Crabmeat (1-6)
  • Buzz Bomber (Blue bee, 1-6)
  • Helicopter (1-7)
  • Tank (1-7)
  • Grabber (spider enemy, 3-7)

My other guide will also feature images for this achievement:

Hermit / Elder Koco Encounter

Spoke with Hermit and Elder Koco for the first time.

These two are encountered pretty early into the first island. If you've somehow missed them, you can find them on the map.

Speed Demon

Activated a Power Boost for the first time.

A Power Boost is automatically activated whenever you reach 400 rings.

Combo Convert

Performed a Phantom Rush for the first time, outside of the training simulator.

Phantom Rush is an ability unlocked through the skill tree for three points. It is activated whenever the combo meter on the right side of the screen is filled up.

Combo Crackerjack

Performed Phantom Rush 50 times, outside of the training simulator.

The easiest way to do this would be to go to Asura on the first island and attack its legs. Asura will not move and you will easily fill up your meter. Once you achieve Phantom Rush, let it run out, then rinse and repeat.

(Shoutouts to Ruki185 for the video tutorial.)

Superior Ranking / Perfect Run

Achieved Rank S time, for the first time in a Cyber Space area.

Completed all Missions in one Cyber Space area.

This can be most easily achieved on the first level (1-1). That said, most levels are fairly lenient with the requirements and red ring locations are fairly easy to spot as well. (Would highly recommend avoiding 1-2 and some of the later levels lol)

Swath of Destruction

Destroyed 100 breakable objects.

This achievement refers to any breakable boxes, lights, or containers scattered around each island. You'll likely already have this from your initial playthrough, but if not, then a run through of the first island should suffice.

Celestial Rain / Ticket to Tranquility

Encountered a starfall for the first time.

Earned 100 Purple Coins.

A Starfall is a randomly occurring event in which star fragments will begin raining on the island and enemies will respawn. Fairly similar to Breath of the Wild's blood moon. To my knowledge there's no known way to increase the odds of it occurring, but it should happen eventually while you're playing.

When a Starfall does occur, make sure to collect as many star fragments as possible. Doing so will allow you to collect a ton of purple coins which is necessary for the stat boosting achievements as well as "Ticket to Tranquility".

Big Encounter

Completed the fishing tutorial.

Self-explanatory. Big's Fishing Spot can be unlocked by interacting with any purple portal on any island. It is denoted by a fish symbol on the map.

Angler's Club

Landed all catches at one fishing spot.

This achievement requires you to obtain one of every catch in any fishing spot. You really only need to fish around 30 times before you catch everything in one given area. Pretty easy.

Koco Leader

Gathered 200 Koco.

This will likely be unlocked at some point during your first playthrough, but in case it isn't. You can buy 20 Kocos from Big for 3 tokens at his fishing spots.

Unrivaled Aptitude

Unlocked all Skills.

Would recommend going for this after you've completed most if not all of the other achievements as you will have most likely naturally gained enough skill points for every skill.

If not then doing tricks off of any stationary spring will eventually net you enough skill points.

I don't understand, I have Kronos Island 100% done, but I couldn't get the achievement for the challenges or the portals :(

Because I didn't want to wait for starfall, I figured out that Combo Crackerjack can be farmed of of the Springs in Ares. Cyclone kick to build combo, attack a few times, and then repeat. Just don't press B.

This is a great guide. Though I didn't see it until after I 100%d it. I didn't know about the Asura PR farm. I just made a fresh save and sped my way to Giganto and grinded against him

Sure, go ahead! The more people that are able to be helped the better. Feel free to send me your guide once it's done too so I can link it here. Thanks for asking.

Hi, this may seem strange, but I want to make a request. I really enjoyed the recent Sonic Frontiers, and I would like to make a guide on this game to get all the achievements for Sonic fans from the CIS. But I came across your guide, which is very well done (special thanks for the tip on Combo Crackerjack). I would like to take your guide as a basis and translate it. I am writing this because I have no right to translate it without your permission.
