There's about 6 salvageable wrecks around the crash site and you need to have salvaged from each one at least once before the walk in appears. You may have missed one. There is 1 that is green and blends into the terrain except at winter.I bet it's that one.

congraz - i have also started there and got NO walk-in-survivor 1st year, so i had stopped there - but terrain and seed is good ...
