I keep them for a long time.
My last PC was built in 2010 and had a few upgrades over the years but was the same mainboard and base component setup (vidcard, ram were upgraded over the years, SSD was replaced, and PSU replaced).

I imagine I'll likely have this one for many years as well (hopefully not 12 years again though).

I did bring 3 components from the old system though:
Headset: Asus Strix 7.1 v1 (Wired True 7.1 with 10 discrete neodymium-magnet drivers)
Keyboard: Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard v1 (18 G Keys (blue))
Mouse: Logitech G700s

I've not found suitable replacements for those 3 components. They just work so well for me.

Nice. Do you do builds like this often or keep them for a long while?

Due to my lifestyle I have to use laptops for the past several years(my last pc is gtx 970..) and have been dreaming of getting back into desktop machines.

@Jtwizzle, yes, I managed to get the 4090 @ MSRP. It was for that reason I was able to finally build a new rig. I won't pay scalpers.
