Updated for the b42 update, please report any bug

Philosophy behind this mod
The first iteration of this mod I Don't Need A Lighter missed the balance I was aiming at when writing it. It made the Smoker trait even more a freebie point than it should. With this version I want to keep the vanilla's lighters as the best option to light a cigarette, but also provide the player with more risky and/or scarce alternate options .

DISCLAIMER :

Car lighter overhaul :
  • Car lighters are no longer guaranteed to be found in every car. The car lighter socket can be empty or even in need of repair before becoming usable.
  • Car lighter is now an object that can be carried by players, removed from cars containing one or installed in cars in need of one.

  • The time it takes to warm up a car lighter is now directly tied to the car battery durability and charge level(Broke by b42 update)

Stove smoking overhaul :
  • Lighting a cigarette on a stove top now comes with a risk. If you accumulate too much malus(possible malus are currently coming from : Fatigue/Pain/Panic/Drunkeness/Hand Injuries) you risk having an accident when doing so.
  • The time it take to light up a cigarette on a stove top is now directly tied to multiple current stat of your survivor ( Panic / Pain / Fatigue / Drunkenness / Hand injuries )

Mod Compatibility

Planned to be added
  • Add more possible outcome when failing to light a cigarette on stoves
  • Add the risk of breaking the car lighter and/or the car lighter socket when using it with a low durability/charge level car battery
  • Add a 3d model to the car lighter
  • Update translation strings (to all supported language in the v1)

Is it possible to add this mechanic to the campfires? I'm playing a custom mode on an isolated island without loot and need to light a tobacco pipe from the 'hemp and tobacco' mod. :/ Help pls friend

this would be great, if lighters wouldnt still be bugged. 1 use on a full lighter and theyre empty. Didnt try with disposable yet but the gasoline lighter is still bugged.

Growing up our car had a car lighter and they did work with the car turned off, I learned this after SOMEONE ELSE used it to burn a hole in the center armrest while my mom was in the grocery store. Sorry mom I still don't know who did that while you were gone for 15 minutes.

Does this still change anything related to the trait? Because I use a mod that changes traits, but I'd just like the option to light cigarettes in stoves, etc.

More risky? I'm a smoker and in my 45 years on this planet I have never had an issue lighting a smoke, a joint, or doing knife hits off an oven. Outside of being wasted and/or having long hair, I just don't see someone hurting themselves lighting a cigarette on the oven unless they're a very special person lol.

Seriously though, thank you for the mod.

can't seem to light cigarettes with stovetops when using gamepad
