How To Design and optimize your Farm ( Early - Mid - Late Game)

The Magic Number
The most important number to remember is 5 x 10 / 10 x 5. this is because when planning the layout of your farm, be it vertically or horizontally. after you make one area of farm with the magic number, make sure to place some wood/ stone path around it to make it presentable to your eyes

The Reason For Magic Number
The reason i choose that number is because later in day 100 + you usually want to unlock 2 new spell to make managing your farm more quickly.

Earthquake spell usage : 2 times before planting
* total mana cost : 60 - 100 per area (120 - 200 or more if you screw up and to lazy to hoe it)
* how to use : just walk 3 tiles from the center path around your area and then pound that ground, then walk 5 tiles more and repeat the process
* Tips : To aim corectly use your hoe then stand at the certer of 5 x 5 area then press it

Rain Cloud spell usage : 1 times daily
* total mana cost : 40 - 60 per area
* how to use : go to the center side of the path beside plant and then aim your mouse the the direction of your plot of land then make it rain
* i recomend not staying to close to your plant when casting this, because some time the rain miss the first row or columb on your plant. this make you have to water it with the watering can or if youre too lazy just cast it again
* tips : 2 path between area make aiming easier
Seed And Fertilizer And Some Tips
50 per plot

* I recomend using the extra crop and speed fertilizer for late game
* Partially using the speed fertilizer does more harm than good because it messed up the harvest time
* I usually just place one type on plant in each area
* you can usually mix 2 type of seed with 25 : 25 ratio
* want to mix seed ? then do the 10 : 10 : 10 :10 :10 ratio
* i dont really reccomend mixing the plant if they got a different day of growing
* this plot land usually works if you only use the discount seed from the store because you got 20 seed per day
* dont forget the scarrecow ! it still fits

@Tychon: If you don't like scarecrows and you want critters gone just turn off seasonal pests in options.

@ A Lvl 1 Slime . thats 5 x 12 number is also a good option but as you mentioned that it also make the earthquake spell not fit into that set up .
i choose that 5 x 10 number because its easier to remember buying 50 seed from the store. and 5 x 10 is a big land requiremend, by making it more bigger only make some land in winthergate and nefari farm kinda hard to design.

Rain will water a 5x14 area* while missing about 2-4 tiles

Since hoeing is faster that watering and rain is way more mana efficient than earthquake, I usually make them like 5x12 since rain actually extends further than the description says it does, and then can either not earthquake at all or just hoe the remaining 10 tiles.

Is there a better option than scarecrows that I do not know about or how do you keep the critters away?

Earlier i used to use 6x6 plots but they nerfed earthquake from 36 tiles to 25 but at least they buffed rain.
