General Info

Useful Tips:
  • You can only nap before 16:00.
  • Napping during the first 29 minutes of an hour rounds up to the nearest hour. Napping after that will add an extra hour consumed. Example: [08:29 nap → 09:00] [08:31 nap → 10:00]
This means napping before reaching the 30th minute is the most efficient way to nap.
  • Interact with the empty seat at the table from 19:00-20:00 to restore 3 hearts of stamina.
  • You can save and reload strategically in the mines. Reloading on the same floor keeps the nodes the same. Reloading before entering the next floor down will not have the same result since the map is generated after you enter. Google "Save and Load Trick Mining Plotter Tool" from GamingPH if you want to map out the tiles when using the reload trick. You can use this trick to preserve stamina when looking for the rope into the mines or searching for a specific resource (fossils/jewels/ore).
  • Bring an AI companion when possible. They can double your earnings when fishing, increase mining coverage, water crops automatically, and help chop down trees faster.
  • Stores usually are open from 10:00 to 19:00, with a break for lunch from 13:00 to 14:00.

Progressing Hearts & Events
Hearts

At a minimum, talk to every resident each day so that you can raise their affection and progress events at a steady rate. Gifting is recommended if you know what the villager likes. Here's what we've found them to like/love so far:

The order goes like this:
5 hearts | 3 hearts

    • Doraemon: Dorayaki | Tempura
    • Sue: Baked Potatos, Hydrangea (summer foraging) | Cheesecake
    • Big G: Curry | Stew
    • Sneech: Onion gratin soup | French Onion Soup
    • Lumis: Tomato | Turnip
    • Leif: Mugwort |
    • Gidori Ruby | Silver Ore
    • Luana: | Fish Fritters
    • Pip: | Oil
    • Foira: Macarons | Mont Blanc
    • Garret: Salmon | Okay groundbait
    • Poppy: Moondrop Flower |
    • Stacy: Green Cottage | Royal Fern
    • Aiden: Cherry | Strawberry
    • Sally: Pound Cake
    • Mary: Shortcake | Pudding
    • Gogmir: Gold Ore, Oden | Copper ore, Amber, Udon
    • Gidal: Oden, Hercules Bug | Mantis
    • Belle: | Hard Wood
    • Oliver: Pot-au-feu | Normal Wood
    • Granny Smith: Apple | Dandelion
    • Kai: Tuna | Okay Groundbait
    • Ori: Red Snapper | Starfish
    • Malie: | Sakura Shell
    • If you don't have any specific gifts for them, spam Animal Treats, as everyone likes them with 1 heart.

Additionally, the Bulletin Board (unlocked around Day 4) features the villagers' requests under the Local Board. Sometimes, you'll see items requested that are inaccessible or very rare (due to RNG). You can leave these unaccepted/cancel them by talking to the villagers. Once a new day rolls in, you'll get a new set of 4 requests from the board. You can accept and hold a request for multiple days in anticipation of getting the ingredient (e.g. Cherry from the tree). Since you can only have 4 active requests at a time, just complete whichever requests you can for the day to make room for the remaining requests from the board. Note: the Time TV at home has the same features as the Bulletin Board. Use this to your advantage to plan out your route for the day.

      Events

A red exclamation point on the map (see Store Hours category for an example) indicates that an event can be triggered at the specified location. These events are tied to villagers affection/heart levels. In some cases, 2 or more villagers are required to be at a certain heart level to trigger an event (e.g. Roving Diner). These heart combinations are indicated in the To-Do List.

A good DAILY event routine involves:
      • Checking the map for events to trigger
      • Talking to ALL villagers and gifting when applicable.
      • Checking your To-Do List: Important and Friend tabs.
      • Completing as many of the 4 Daily Requests as you can from the Board.

    Heart Requirements for 100%
It's not clear right now what the minimum heart requirements are for the rest of the kingdom, or if there is any at all, but to complete the story and get all achievements you'll need MAX (red) hearts for all 9 residents of your home. This is required in order to complete all tasks under Important. Additionally you will have to complete every single quest in the "Friends" tab for Leif, Lumis, Belle, Luana, Gidori & Pip.

Achievements tied to story & heart events

The Lost Ship Canopus is a heart event. It is not 100% clear whether or not Ori needs to have any heart progress, but it specifically states to get closer to Luana and Sue. On heart event #8 for Luana under the "Friends" tab, Ori will take you to the Lost Ship Canopus.

To unlock the Cloud Garden, you will need to progress Lumis to max hearts, as his last friend quest is to finish the Cloud Gardens. You will also need to finish Belle's friend quests. I had Belle at 7 hearts when I finished, though it is not confirmed whether or not this is required. She only got two quests, and I believe they unlock when you have the possibility of getting the Cloud Garden. You will have to gift Belle 10 flowers of any kind for a quest.

Once every task is completed in the "Important" tab, your last quest is Smiles Until the End. Say your goodbyes to the townsfolk, and interact with the spaceship. This will trigger an event. Once the event is over, and the credits have rolled, load your savefile again and the achievement should pop.

Return to Earth Made it back to Earth!

If you are stuck on "Together with Leif"
    • Go Together with Leif
    • Head to Wetwoods
    • In the North West, there is a secret path. Interact with the flower inside.

    Tool Upgrades
The suggested upgrade order below is based on tackling achievements as the priority.

    Tools
    1. Iron Water Can
    2. Iron Pick
    3. Silver Water Can
    4. Silver Pick
    5. Gold Water Can
    6. Silver Axe

It's good to prioritize the Water Can because, in this game, you can't nap past 16:00. After that Noby will keep suggesting you actually use a bed. With that in mind, it will help a lot if you can water your crops faster and go out to do other stamina-spending activities with the ability to nap several times.

    Costs

Note that the cost of the Hoe, Hammer, Watering Can, Scythe and Axe are the same.
There are also another upgrade beyond Gold, but by the time you have gold, you're likely to have completed the game.

    Gadgets

We won't be covering all of the gadgets, however a few useful ones will be mentioned, as well as the two that are related to achievements. Some gadgets are storyline, some are from completing the Other quests for harvesting a certain amount of crops.

One of the first ones you will unlock, is the Human Locomotive. This gadget will allow you to run a lot faster when it is equipped. You cannot interact with anyone or anything while you are using it, though it is very easy to take it off. This is super useful for making quick errands, and will save you a lot of time in the day.

The Anywhere Door unlocks on the 1st day of Summer. This gadget allows you to teleport to any place on the map. The door will not move from the previous location you used it from, so keep that in mind. You also earn an achievement for unlocking the Anywhere Door.

The Hopter unlocks after you have created the Cloud Garden. There are a couple of prerequisites. See "Cloud Gardens" section under "Heart Requirements for 100%". After you completed the Cloud Garden, you can now talk to Doraemon to get your hopter.

    Building Upgrades
The suggested upgrade order below is based on tackling achievements as the priority.

    Buildings/Upgrades Priority
    1. Roomy House
    2. Horse Stable
    3. Shed
    4. Chicken Coop
    5. Large House
    6. Shed Silo
    7. Large Shed
    8. Greenhouse

The Stable is second because riding the horse is a faster way to travel through locations.
Although there is no achievement for a larger shed, it enables you to breed 2 animals at a time which will significantly cut down the time it takes to complete the birthing achievements. You can breed two animals simultaneously, build the Greenhouse right after, and have all 3 achievements obtained roughly around the same timeframe. Also, there are more feed slots, so you won't need to feed the animals daily.

Subsequently, there are 4 achievements for birthing a baby version of the animals above.
To start breeding you will need upgraded facilities that come equipped with incubators and the correct seed purchased from Mary. Once you have the seed, use it on the animal to start the process. For chickens, simply place the egg they laid on the incubator, then place the Chicken on top of it. The first set of upgrades can only incubate/breed 1 animal at a time. Upgrading the shed again will allow you to breed 2 animals simultaneously. Check the Building Upgrades category for more information.

    Better Fertilizer/Bait/Charms
Working on your tasks and hearts with Lumis, Luana, Gidori and Leif unlocks an option to create strong items to assist in your daily farming life.

    • Lumis can make better Fertilizer
    • Luana can make better Groundbait
    • Leif can create Bug Bait (for the trees with the bark peeled off)
    • Gidori can create (mining) Charms

Gidori's charms are very useful. Although they temporarily stop the save/reload trick from working, it's very helpful in targeting resources you need for upgrades and crafts specifically by focusing on ores, jewels, or fossils.

Leif's option to create Bug Bait is also very useful for finding specific bugs. As an example, the Beetle event in Summer will only accept 2 types of beetles. I mistakenly brought a Dung Beetle and didn't quality to enter. You can easily get around this issue by creating bait for a Stag Beetle.
