How to play past end date (without mods!)

So I've already seen discussions and modifications popping up claiming that there is no possibility to play past 1936 without mods, and WTH is PDX thinking, all their recent games have this option, how hard can it be, luckily mods will fix that etc. etc.

But actually, it is possible to play past the end date without any mods.

I saw all the mods saying "install me to play past 100 years" which made me sad when i got to 1936 without mods,,,, but then i kept playing,
it still confuses me that people couldn't work it out, smh

False news. I just clicked that and I'm now playing as the UNE in 1444.
