VFM is a comprehensive overhaul mod for Victoria 3 that aims to be a successor to the many mods that expanded on and improved Victoria 2, with a major focus on creating a more historically immersive and content-filled experience with selective and optional railroading when preferred

The mod features contributions from former developers on GFM and TGC for Victoria 2, as well as multiple founding members of the Victoria 2 Modding Server and the Victoria 3 Mod Co-op. Our goal is to make changes that make the mod feel like what we'd expect from the game years down the line.

Major new features:

*Centralization law group.

*New AI strategies and optimizations. The way the ai selects techs, building locations and evaluates things have been improved while keeping immersive differences in behavior depending on the ai strategies active.

*Major effort to make each country and region feel more different. Such as with new state traits,
more regional resource constraints, new harvest condition potato blight and mid 1800s potato famine, earthquakes, changed effect and
chance for harvest conditions to happen, disasters have a larger impact.

*New production methods for various buildings such as farms, tool workshops and shipyards.

*New technologies such as advanced crop rotation, metal tools, colonial administration, lithography.

*Reworked colonization. Native resistance is a lot more realistic and challenging.

*Complete overhaul with lots of new content for Persia.

*New content for Prussia/Germany, Sweden, France, Ottomans, Peru, Bolivia and Chile.

*Minor additions to some other countries such as Austria, North Italy, China, Russia.

*Tweaks to the economy, laws and overall game balance to make the game more challenging and realistic.

*Tweaked pop growth and migration to be more realistic.

*Increased pop detail, mostly for Europe.

*Compatible with Hail Columbia, use for USA content.

*Improved secessions.

*Various bugfixes both lesser known and known from mods such as bugfix 1.8.6 and Victorian Tweaks Mod have been incorporated into VFM already. You should not apply minor mods that claim to fix certain aspects of the game.

--- WARNING ---
The mod does not have any clear graphical indication that it has been loaded and DOES NOT have the map changes anymore that used to be present before 2024. Sadly those map changes were never really functional and had to be abandoned due to causing spline crashes.

DO NOT report that your 'mod doesn't load' just because you can't see any change in the main menu, load a country that is listed as having content and check first.

I reckon you need to fix the AI colonisation and aggression logic. In my current game, the UK randomly tries to make the Papal State a protectorate, and it becomes a world war. France also invaded Oldenburg for no reason when they still have a lot of work to do in North Africa and Asia

Nothing supports changing the centralization law group- so if you start as decentralized, you're stuck decentralized the entire game. If you highly liberalize, you have negative authority permanently

Private sector was only constructing up to 5 buildings at the same time even if I have more than enough construction playing with Russia. I had around 1.3 k construction capacity with laissez faire economy law. It just does not make sense.
