Early Game
For this strat you do not need everything unlocked, it will just make things easier.

I recommend using wizard for the tornado buff but any character will suffice.

For "power ups" I recommend (from order of importance) tornado-sharuken-lightning-arrows. I highly recommend tornado for the tornado relic (which adds spinning tornadoes that follow you) at a minimum. Everything else is what ever you feel like.

NOTE: there are only 6 power up slots so it will be best to skip some power ups if you are running out of slots and do not have the ones you want.

For actual game-play try and run in a large circle to group them together to avoid tanking through a swarm. If you are familiar with COD zombies it's the same as train-ing zombies. You will want to focus on power ups for that "passive" damage because we will not be getting close enough to the bosses to hit them with our default weapon (usually).
Middle Game
Once you have the basic power ups you most likely beat the first boss and if all goes well you got the tornado relic from it (if not you will hopefully get it from some other boss).

This is where things ramp up exponentially. It will help A LOT if you unlocked the permanent boost that allows you to not accept the card upgrade choice. This allows you to store the choice and pressing "Q" will allow you to bring up the choices again. When you do this it changes the choices so you can cycle to the upgrades you want. HOWEVER, it can bug so that closing out of the choices no longer cycles the choices. When this happens you're out of luck and will have to deal with the choices you get which will slow things down a little.

The cards you will pick will depend on what stage you are at but here is a list of what to start with once you have 6 power ups. (From order of most important) EXP GAIN - MOVEMENT SPEED - RISK CARD - any tornado upgrades - ARMOR - ONE HIT - any other power up upgrades - anything not luck or counter. (To clarify if you see more than one of the listed select the most important one. If only one of the listed is present just select that one) The idea here is to level up as fast as possible because more levels equals more cards and general power. Also make sure you keep your speed up so you can out run the very large central horde you are circling. The strat is once you level up, if you don't see the card choice you want, press close then immediately press "Q" to pause the game so you don't get beat up too badly. Cycle cards until you find one of the listed choices, rinse and repeat. If your health is getting low and there is not enough food, cycle cards until you find HEALING 100%. A general rule I follow is I start looking for that card when my health drops below half. If it is taking a while to find a card you want, it will show up eventually, just be patient, unless it's bugged (as mentioned above) then just pick the one you want.

IMPORTANT: your goal with the risk cards is to get the ability to collect all xp from the map every minute. Once you get that I don't recommend getting them anymore to not kill your speed (if you haven't already) if your speed was killed it is still possible to continue, just watch your health and pray you are built different.
Late Game
Now you are on the final boss if you haven't killed it already. You should be pretty tanky at this point but make sure to keep moving so you don't get hit by the boss if you can help it. Now you can cycle cards to upgrade your power ups. Each power up has a max upgrade of 10 which you can see right below your health bar. It doesn't matter which power ups you upgrade first so I recommend just choosing the one that shows up first. NOTE: make sure you always choose EXP GAIN to keep up with the level inflation (or it'll be slow grinding).

Now that you are tanking everything except bosses/mini bosses, run around collecting chests and cycling cards until you get to what I call the "untouchable" phase where if you were to be afk, nothing can hurt you except maybe mini bosses and bosses. From here it's up to you if you want to get the chests, I only do periodically after idle bouts. If your card cycle hasn't bugged yet then just upgrade whatever, here are some suggestion in order of importance, EXP GAIN - ONE HIT - MAX HP - ARMOR - crits of any kind - then whatever you want. Don't waste your choice on COUNTER - LUCK - HEALING 100% - SPEED BOOST - anything not damage, armor, xp, or increasing your health pool.
TLDR
1) run in circle
2) get xp
3) get power ups
4) pray your pc (or you) don't explode
Final Message
As far as I can tell enemies don't scale so once you become untouchable you can go as high as your patience allows. If all goes well you should be able to turn off auto level pop up so you can afk. Use the gold from your failed attempts to upgrade the unlocks (especially the one that lets you close out the choices). Keep in mind (as of now) there is no save and quick so a run must be done in one session unless you have the means to leave it running afk (pause if you aren't at the untouchable phase yet). If it is past 3am your time, get some sleep, your brain needs it. I wish you all the best of luck and leave in the comments your highest time and advice you would like to give. Feedback is much appreciated if I missed something. glhf

All information is based on the current state of the game as of October 2022

November update:
-either the card cycle was patched or it's bugged for me from the start
-I was on a PR run (just longer afk) and it appears level 1667 is the max unless it's bugged
-the new cards added are not worth it unless you maxed (theoretically) your level
UPDATE: I afk-ed over night, if you let the chest power ups accumulate they will LAG TO 1 FPS, also upon collecting the power ups my health grew so large it glitched out, I currently have (negative)
-619477900000/3727058000 it appears the positive number on the right is static while the number on the left is rapidly increasing (decreasing since it's negative apparently) I am not getting hit so there is no reason for it to be negative

also something to note is that the experience buff will add 10% to your current modifier not the base modifier. so it gets insano mode fast in the endgame. where if you have a 500% exp it will add another 50% on pick-up for a total of 550% and so on.

no matter what i pick, soul swords and holy arrow are always the top 2. so im not so sure the windy bois are the best way to do it. https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2882517560
