Unlimited inventory space

Tired of running out of inventory space? No problem, there is a solution. You have the ability to expand your inventory limit indefinitely!

Quick guide:

1.) Find one of several merchants selling a backpack (At "Illyn Doldran" in "Mel Senshir" the method seems to work for most players).
2.) Kill the respective merchant.
3.) Serve your prison sentence or break out of prison.
4.) After your sentence expires sleep for seven days.
5.) Visit the same merchant again (after seven days the merchant should respawn in the same place).
6.) The merchant should now offer another backpack for sale.

This procedure can be repeated several times until the desired amount of inventory space is reached.

Have fun looting!

Thanks for the guide... I have no idea what the fuss is about it, but thanks.

However, my big beef with the game is that it's not clear how much of what occupies what space, precisely. Sell 40 items but only regain 17 slots?

Anyways, stumbled across you all grumbling and thought I'd add a different perspective. Check out the devs of Journey to the Savage Planet talk about how a speed runner broke the game figuring out how to fling themselves with the tether. It's a brilliant abuse of physics and momentum and they were in awe (which is a really positive response considering it completely changed the areas that you can access).

If you're like me, I value my time more than that and an infinitely large bag would mean a ton of time wasted. The constraint of a limited bag space means that I think of each space in terms of the value that I can get for it. This informs all of my choices of looting. Even just playing normally, you'll have more gold than you can use in a pretty fast time.

In fact, I'm terrible with the fact that I dump perceived valuable things into my stash to never touch them again.

To everyone saying that this is cheating. Is it really? If it's still in the game and hasn't been patched, it seems like a feature instead of a flaw. Maybe it's a loophole and an accidental one at that. Not my type of thing to do, but on the moral and ethical side of things, it's up to you what it is. As far as being part of the community of gamers since the dawn of digital games, kudos to whoever figured this out and for those of you who use it, you have my vote to not stress about it. I'm happy with the grind but I wouldn't call this cheating.

In the good ol' Diablo 1 days, duping things was such an exciting thing to discover. But it got old after a while. In Kingdoms of Amalur, you still have to click on items to sell them, or go through steps to add items to junk and sell them.

@Lord/of/Lies: What an utter waste of your time :D But of course, that's YOUR time to waste.

@Garris Some of us actually like earning our shit without hacks and cheats. If it's included then fucking use it.

but you can actually just run away and sleep for only two days

Presumably between steps 1 and 2, you should buy the merchant's backpack?
