"I posted a status update on 22 Sept, that weird random strangers keep wanting me to be part of their CS:GO team, despite me telling them I'm such a big noob.

And today, it happened again!"

Hi J, as long as theft of digital property remains by and large without major consequences on Steam, bad outcomes will always be just a friendly-click away. I'll fav this so more of my friends pool with view this....Thx !

Thanks, BOT Dragneel!

Yeah, I'm aware they're trying to scam. I never got to clicking on their links as I've always ignored and unfriend/block them once they've asked me to join their team.

But good to know what will go on after that and it serves as an awareness and a warning for those who come across this post. Thanks for the info!

TL;DR : sometimes this is just a scam.

just so you and any one comes across this post know, a lot of these "join my team" convos are scams, they usually give you a link to a website to get basic info about you -since you gonna join the team. after that you will be asked to join their group and a pop up window with a website that looks exactly like steam site will open, it even has the https :// -which is obviously fake since its a pop up. when you try to sign-in to steam is when they get your info. the frist time you sign-in it will say wrong info, the second time after they get the info you will be transferred to a real steam page and you will be able to join and dont think that much about it. accounts with steam guard will loss only their info -username and password- others will be more harmed.
