How to install PWCG & other mods
By PopeC0rn
There are a lot of tutorials on the Rise of Flight site or here on Steam, but I wanted to make simple, step-by-step, comprehensive guide for steam users. So, let's begin:

Downloading JSGME
First off, if you want to get the best out of ROF with mods, you'll need to install JSGME - Generic Mod Enabler. This app isn't specific to Rise of Flight, and you can download it here: https://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Miscellaneous/Generic-Mod-Enabler.shtml (Ignore possible safety warnings from your browser, there is no problem with JSGME and it is safe.)

Extract the downloaded .zip folder into your ROF base folder - you can navigate there throught the Library. Then, run the jsgme_setup.exe, click throught the installer, and install JSGME (into the game's base folder). It should install JSGME.exe - run that and close, that creates a file named "MODS". Voilà, you have properly installed JSGME.
Downloading normal mods
Time to download some actual mods! I suggest Taff's setup, a few mods, that work quite well (https://taff04.wixsite.com/taffinexile/riseofflightmods) or you can go to the official forums and download some of the best mods out there (https://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/45387-updatedfixed-links-panthers-favorite-mods/). The texture and graphical mods can really change ROF and make it beatiful.

Now, mod download is very simple - you unzip the downloaded file into the "MODS" folder in your main Rise of Flight folder. Then, go into JSGME, and if you did it right, your desired mods should appear under the "Available mods" category. Simply click on the mod and move it into the "Activated mods" category using the ">" button.

Close JSGME, start Rise of Flight, and make sure that in Settings -> General -> Customizations you set that Modifications are enabled. After you enable them (If you didn't before), the game will restart, and your mods should work.
PWCG
Pat Wilson's Campaign Generator is a must for Rise of Flight, as the vanilla career mode can be sometimes very boring. First, install the GUI mod (http://www.mediafire.com/file/lcon0e2nc1ntz8y/PWCG_RoF_GUI_Mod_for_v.1.037_for_JSGME.zip%C2%A0) and unzip it into your "MODS" file. Then, download PWCG (http://www.pwcampaignmanager.com/pwcg/web/PWCGRoF.php) and unzip in into your Rise of Flight BASE folder - not the "MODS", the base folder. Also, go to "data" (from your ROF main file) and open "Startup.cfg" with notepad. Scroll down or use the windows find function and find "mission_text_log". Set it to 1 (mission_text_log = 1) and save the file.

After all that, you can start your game and a "PWCG" button should appear amongst other buttons like "Quick Mission", "Multiplayer" etc. Click it, after PWCG is opened select the airplanes you own and "Create Campaign". You'll get an option to create new in the upper right corner. From that point, I'm sure you'll figure it out :)

Thank you for reading this guide, I hope it helped. And as always - safe flying and good hunt!

Hi, I wrote to the game's support team and explained that the achievements weren't working. I eventually received a response saying my request/question had been forwarded to the developer.

since the launch of flying circus, ROF has been pushed to the sidelines, of course considering that it is a rather old game now, so i doubt you'll find some fix. but good luck nonetheless

Got it, thanks. I went to a website where you can see who's earned achievements, and there's one player who's earned half the achievements (he's got 200 hours of playtime). I just personally think a fix for this bug is out there. Since the project is still supported and there's an option to pay for DLC, I think I'll have to go to the 1C website or the IL 2 Sturmovik form and try to find out the truth there.

as far as i know, achievements are just completely broken. didn't unlock with the game unmodded nor with the mods installed. online/offline made no difference as well.

Hey, can I ask a question? (I'm using a translator, there may be errors.) I have a question about this mod, or more specifically, whether this modification fixes the achievements. I noticed that this is one of the main problems with this game that hasn't been fixed. If you know any tips about achievements, could you please message me in private or on my Steam wall? :cleanfloppy:

Install into the game root folder, aka C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rise of Flight 2.0.

PWCG button: it did not work for me when setting ROF up on a new computer as well. Maybe try to remove it from the MODS folder and then add back again on top of all other mods, as the last one?

I'm not getting the PWCG button to appear after installing everything per your instructions.

Do you install JSGME into this folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rise of Flight 2.0

or this folder?:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rise of Flight 2.0\data
