Just use farcaster.

No really, Farcaster can be used in combat and many quests end up ending because of the pillar phase on master rank.

This is litterally one of the few cases one should use a farcaster. You're even given one by the item box.

So use it, specially at those phases.

In my experience getting hit by a pillar once will make your hunter lay on the ground with Iframes that'll bring you into the center. If you damage Narwa enough in this phase she'll not do her "sapphire star" and fall to the ground.
I'm not too sure how this works with other weapon but with IG you can chase her up into the air, giving you a little more time to do the necessary damage to knock her out.
