[Linux] Installing Gentlemen of the Row.
By Loaf of Beans
Hey all, making this guide since the last guide Isn't updated . This guide will teach you how to install Gentlemen of the Row, with Wine.

Installing Wine
The only thing you'd need to do by yourself is install Wine for your Distro. Most Distros come with it installed, and if it doesn't usually your package manager will have it. The package name would mostly be 'wine', 'wine-stable' or something similar.

Here are a few links, that may help.

If none of these help you figure it out, and you don't have it on your package manager, try searching Google for: [your_distro] install wine
or something along those lines.

Download Gentlemen of the Row
  1. Download Gentlemen of the Row [www.saintsrowmods.com]
  2. Once downloaded, extract the folder.

Running the .bat script
  1. Open a Terminal, CD into that folder you just extracted.
    cd ~/Downloads/Gentlemen_of_the_Row_Saints_Row_2_Super_Mod_v1.9.2/
  2. From here, run the 'Create_Custom_GotR_v1.9.2.bat', with Wine console
    wineconsole start Create_Custom_GotR_v1.9.2.bat

A new Wine Console window will pop up, with the batch script running.

Creating and Installing a Custom Patch
Once you have chosen any options, which the batch file will tell you how to do, you can press P and then press enter. Once it has done it just exit out of the script.

Note: You may also need to press CTRL+C to properly exit out of the wineconsole instance.

Once you have made your patch you can:
  1. CD into the MY_CUSTOM_PATCH folder.
    cd MY_CUSTOM_PATCH
  2. From here, copy everything into your Saints Row 2 game directory.
Your game directory may differ from mine, but the command would look something like this
    cp * ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Saints\ Row\ 2/

You're done
Once all of this is done, you should have a modded version of Saints Row 2. You can tell if this is the case, by simply opening up the game; and you should see multiple references to the Gentlemen of the row mod.
