This means that if you have an encounter that would give you a salve and two monster skill cards, the location of those cards are always randomly assigned. Because of this, I will always pick the left card and eventually you will get the thing you're looking for.
4. It gets easier once you beat the secret boss in post game.
Now I'm not sure if its because of the frequency I was getting treasures, due to in game effects, but because I always was getting treasures after battles I noticed something. When walking through the final area with mobs it would give me more encounters with enemies I hadn't maxed their skill card out with yet. I fight them, pick the left treasure and in like an hour have most of the maxed out cards. But regardless, beating the secret boss in post game makes it really easy to do this for reasons you'll find out when you beat it.
This means as you progress through the game, the drop tables will improve and you'll get better items and monster skills. Mainly you'll always see a specific item like for example; a Salve, one star skill card, and a two star skill card. Some locations have more common drops and more rare drops. You could see for example, a level 1 star with a level 2 star in one encounter, then a level 2 star and a 3 star in the more rare drop in that same encounter set up in the same area. If you can't find the high enough skill you're looking for that means either you're unlucky or there is a higher level area that has a higher chance. Especially at later parts of the game, you will be able to get enough money to where buying bills of fortune are not much of a problem and can always use it on the encounters which has a monster you want a skill in.
Each encounter you have has the possibility of dropping treasure. What treasure an encounter drops depends on a few things.
1. What creatures are in the encounter.
If you have a slime, a wolf and a wasp in your encounter, this means that it will select one of those three monsters to provide you with their drop table. It also seems to favor lower level monsters from my experience making it harder to get the rarer drops when you have a mix of monsters in that encounter, but this could just be observation vs statistical fact. If you have all of the same monster you will get treasure from their drop table every time.
