So far I am really enjoying this game, it feels to me to be quite refreshing and I get the feeling there is something quite special about this game but I think we will have to see through the up coming 8 or so episodes.  I am a big fan of the graphic & animation style and the story element is simply fantastic, you really get to know the characters as your journey continues.   An interesting element is the way you get around the world, by hitchhiking, catching buses, on foot and by a taxi company with a magical driver.  There is a little twist that shows it’s head now and again, the police can catch you at any time, and its happened a few times to me when I was hitchhiking.  I love many things about this game, but the main part is the complexity of story and how each character slightly intertwines with the others, that absolutely astounds me.   To wrap up I think this is quite simply an art masterpiece.

Road 96 is a 2021 video game developed and published by French studio DigixArt, with additional publishing by Plug In Digital. The game follows several teenage hitchhikers as they attempt to flee from the nation of Petria. Featuring a tyrannical dictatorship in Petria, the game lets the player choose either to influence the election or to focus on crossing the border. The player character meets seven non-player characters across each playthrough, with procedurally generated interactions. The game was inspired by different works of fiction, from The Goonies and Porco Rosso. A test given to the player allowing them to flee to work offshore was based on real-world North Korean exams.
Released for the Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows on 16 August 2021, the game received "generally favourable reviews" according to review aggregator website Metacritic. An advertisement for the game was removed by Facebook, due to it being politically motivated.
