Hi everyone, I hope this guide can help you answer some crossplay questions between Steam and Epic Games. Currently there is no crossplay between Steam and Xbox PC or Nintendo Switch.

T17 made a brief sticky discussion post on how to enable crossplay. I've expanded upon it and added the T17 menu guide for after enabling beta crossplay branch. You can find official links from devs in the final section of this guide. Please follow T17 news for crossplay updates including bugs, fixes, and other notification. Thank you.

1. With your Steam menu opened, click on Library.
   
2. Locate your copy of Overcooked! 2 in your Library and right click on Overcooked! 2.
   
3. When the menu pops up, click on Properties.
   
   

1. On the new pop-up menu, click on BETAS on the left column.
   
2. Once you chose BETAS, go to the right hand side and click on the drop-down arrow. You can now see the option to enable crossplay branch. Select by clicking on it.
   (Later on if you want to disable crossplay branch, repeat the steps above and select NONE instead.)
   
3. Click X to close after you have made your selection.
   
   

Your game will automatically do an update whenever you switch between crossplay branch or None. Essentially you're almost downloading a different copy of the game.

Your game should look like this if your copy has crossplay.

With crossplay enabled, you can only play with others who have beta crossplay branch enabled. If you opted out of beta and do not have crossplay branch enabled, you can only play with Steam players who also do not have the crossplay enabled. An error will occur if the branches are mismatched.

This feature got integrated some time after the initial release. I was really hoping that you can directly add friends from the game menu, but we end up with a somewhat cumbersome process. Steps below details the process on using T17 menu.

After enabling Betas - Crossplay Branch, start your game and wait for main menu to load.

1. Press whichever button it is to access the Invite Menu on bottom right. (I have my controller plugged in, so my prompt is Y button.) Skip this step if you have mouse enabled and directly click on the +.
   
   
2. Tap the + button.
   
   
3. Click Invite to bring up T17 Friends menu.
   

As far as crossplay is concerned, you're mostly using the middle 2 tabs.

1. The people icon is your Steam Friends List. Use this for if you are playing only with Steam friends.
   
   
2. T17 tab is kind of the crossplay T17 friends list. If people accepted your T17 friends requests, they will show up under this tab. Friends playing on EGS will need to give you their T17 name (not their EGS ID). You can also add your Steam contacts by their T17 names on here too.
   
   
3. Bell Icon - Notification and Alerts. This is where you'd approve incoming friends requests. This might weird for some of you, but Crossplay Game Invites also comes through here.
   
   
4. Clock Icon - Recent Players. Your kitchen chemistry is off the chart with a random player through Arcade mode. What if they are your Overcooked kitchen soulmate? Worry not! You can see a list of recent players here and try to add them.

Starting from above the tabs, you'll see your Steam name in white on top. Beneath that in some kind of purple shade is your T17 ID with hashtag. This is what you are looking at when people ask to add you via T17 Friends.

1. Click on the T17 tab.
   
2. Click on + to add people and enter their T17 ID. Sit and stare at the wall while you watch paint dry.
   
3. People's names will appear under In Game, Online, or Offline under the T17 tab if they accepted your request. If they rejected your request, have a soulful cry and maybe some mac n' cheese and move on.

• Click on the T17 tab.
  
• Click on the Aa button. Change it to something moronicfun.

While Steam displays Steam game invitation through Steam messages, T17 invites shows up under Notification/ Alerts. If your frienemies are hosting upon adding you on T17, watch this tab like a hawk.
