Prerequisites

Run the game once, then download Diva Mod Manager[gamebanana.com], and set it up as listed on the page. From here you can download mods either in the mod manager itself (GB Mods tab), or the gamebanana website. Turn off MegaMix Mode (Options>Visual Settings>Future Tone) and turn off uploading to the leaderboards (Gallery>Ranking>Upload Settings). Risk a ban and funky graphics otherwise.

Crucial Mods

DivaNoSpy[gamebanana.com] Disables the Denuvo stuttering garbage
High Refresh Rate[gamebanana.com] Unlocks framerate, which can be edited in the mods/High Refresh Rate/config.toml file in the directory, I recommend 60fps. The game's own frame limiter is garbage and breaks over time.
DivaBackup[gamebanana.com] Backs up the save data in case steam cloud or save data ♥♥♥♥ ups
Miku sIngs SEGA[gamebanana.com] Miku will sing SEGA at the SEGA splash screen, as intended by the Gods

Optional Mods

720p Movies - Base Game[gamebanana.com] Recommended on a lower-end PC to reduce lag
EXPatch[gamebanana.com] Recommended if you're downloading custom song packs, as most don't have hard charts, and this mod removes the need to play hard charts before the extreme chart unlocks
Song Limit Patch[gamebanana.com] Removes the song limit of 300 which is necessary if you're going to have more than 300 songs, KNOWN BUG: Cannot earn VP with this, so you'll need to have the item unlock key DLC if you want modules other than the defaults/free
Project DIVA F2nd Song Pack[gamebanana.com] Adds songs from Project Diva F2nd
Project Hoshikuzu+ Song Pack[gamebanana.com] Huge song pack with some hard, but mostly extreme charts NOTE: You must download through the GDrive link, and then drag and drop the file into DMM
Project Diva X Song Pack[gamebanana.com] Adds songs from Project Diva X
Eden Project (Formerly MMFX)[gamebanana.com] This includes tonnes of new songs and their own PVs, plus extra charts for other MM+ songs. NOTE: You must have the extra song pack DLC to use this
Black★Rock Shooter Module 4.0[gamebanana.com] Adds the Black★Rock Shooter Module
PDRPC - Discord Rich Presence for Mega Mix+[gamebanana.com] Adds Discord Rich Presence so you can show off to your friends that you're playing SM∞F on extreme
Disable Watermarks[gamebanana.com] Disables the watermarks on the PV, if you'd like clean screenshots
PS4 Module and Item Icons[gamebanana.com] Changes to the PS4 Icons and pretty much removes the god-awful toon shader
English Lyrics[gamebanana.com] Changes the on-screen lyrics to English, includes an extra download for the F2nd songs, currently doesn't include X HD however. There are also lyric mods for other languages, currently all I could find are Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese
English Lyrics for Song Packs[gamebanana.com] Replaces the now obsolete English lyrics mod by the same creator.
Restore Korean Censored[gamebanana.com] If you live in Korea, this is a must-have if you want to play Senbonzakura, and Oheda Julia-Night, as they are region-blocked
Add Shirt Lights[gamebanana.com] Gives cute lights to the main Miku module :)
BetterDivaPractice[gamebanana.com] Adds a better version of the practice mode. IMO it's pretty crucial, but it depends on how much you value being able to checkpoint at integers and fast-forward through parts of the song.

There are a tonne of mods for modules, including for the PDF2nd and X HD song packs that are easy to find, so go wild with those!

Just a small correction, DivaNoSpy fixes stuttering by disabling Sega's telemetry and not Denuvo.

@velvetia that shouldn’t happen? mods haven’t changed my ability to receive achievements so not sure what’s going on there :(

Is using mods somehow get achievements blocked? Because for the first time, I just achieved a combos of over 200 after installing a high frame rate and diva no spy mod, but somehow the Combo Master achievement didn't trigger

@YanYan You can keep the FT graphics but you still need the mod to block to leaderboards. The graphics can just be a bit wonky if you keep them as MM. Do it at your own risk.

@Sapinho ANY mods that are with eden project WILL reset your save. I highly suggest backing up all of your save data. Any modding at all risks your save data with any game, so back it up. I have 4 different save files with this game just from messing with mods that wiped my data without me realizing it. Back it up or you run a risk.

hii i know i'm a little late to the party here lmao, just a question! if i download the mods will it wipe my progress in game? i'm scared i'll lose all my perfects :/

Why do the visuals have to be changed to Future Tone? I turned off uploading to leaderboards, but I prefer the Mega Mix graphics. Could this still result in a ban?
