Introduction
Unturned uses the Windows Registry to save any data from your character or singleplayer/hosted multiplayer world. If you're like me, you don't enjoy starting a new game with a friend who just got the game and you have everything while your friend has nothing, you want to start fresh! But, you also don't want to loose all those precious items you've obtained in other servers or your singleplayer game.
Step One - Accessing The Registry
Press the windows key and the R button at the same time and you'll see a window like this.

Your window won't have regedit in it, so just type that into yours and press enter. If you have UAC enabled, you will see an administration promt pop up, just click yes if you have administrator rights and if you do not, type in the password for an account that has administration rights on your computer.

After doing what was said above, you will see a window that looks like this.

Click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Smartly Dressed Games > Unturned

Now you've accessed your save! Continue to step 2.
Step Two - Backing Up Your Current Save
Backing up your save is the easiest process. Simply click on the Unturned folder in the registry and then click "Export".

Choose a location to save the file and name it something you'll remember. Maybe the name of the server you were playing on, or "singleplayer".

I have several save backups for a few different servers, and a clean install for when I want to start a new game that includes all my graphical settings.

Continue to the next step.
Step Three - Starting Anew (optional)
If you wish to start your game completely anew with no progress at all, simply right click the Unturned folder and click "Delete".
Step Four - Restoring a Previous Save
Before doing this step, you should first back up whatever save progress you've made in your current game because whenever you restore a previous save, it will wipe out whatever current progress you have made before restoring.

To restore your save all you have to do is go to the place where you saved your first registry file, double click on it, and answer yes to any of the prompts. ( Opening the file will result in a UAC dialouge again where you must obtain administrative access )

Select yes here and it will overwrite whatever save progress you currently have in your game. After doing that, you're done! Your save is now restored and you can have multiple characters on one PC without dropping and deleting all your items permanently!
Note:
People have been commenting saying this can be abused. Yes, I know that.

The only way this thing can be abused is if you join a server with Sync enabled completely. So if you do not wish for this to be abused by other people then just join a server with sync DISABLED!

Even without this method people on servers with sync enabled can just go into their singleplayer game and travel to a new area without harm of being hurt, essentially teleporting. This could be majorly abused in sync servers because someone could teleport INSIDE SOMEONE'S BASE. This isn't the worst thing that could happen to Unturned, sync servers are just generally abusable.

I know it's highly unlikely, but can you make one for mac's? If it is even possible for this game.

@SlaY3r Yes it will. But if you backup the registry file on a flash drive or other external data device, you can reinstall windows no problem and the save file will be untouched.
