To be fair Super Mario Kart came out in 1992 with Sonic Drift coming later in 1994 and even then it was only a game gear thing. BUT Sega did have Out Run and Hang On in 1986 and 87 before Rad Racer in late 87 and further more had Power Drift out there before Super Mario Kart.

Mario is just the most popular and what people think of first but there are loads of kart racers out there especially all the ones on the original Playstation because obviously mario wasn't there, shout out to Crash Team Racing and RC Revenge. :)

Sonic was out before Mario Kart, plus there is no way that this is a rip-off of mario kart.
