• Unlock Marketplaces by purchasing Trade Permits from the major towns
  
• Higher party Strength gives higher carrying capacity (as in lots of Strength, added a +16 Stone of STR to a single character and carrying capacity went up by 10K for instance)
  
• Recommend picking up the high value low weight items if price is lower than average
  
• After looking at every single selling price for every trade good in every town (took awhile...), it turns out the prices seem to be based on the town coordinates. This means that big towns will not necessarily offer more more trade goods. However, small towns often don't have enough money to buy even a single rare trade good. The best prices are mostly the towns furthest away from the center of the map: Ironthorns (top left) or Delland (bottom right). However, note that the smaller towns can run out of gold quickly.
  
• Increase overworld movement speed to max to save time (>>>> button at the top)
  
• Hoard enough Gold Pieces in Bank so that the Interest (1%) covers all of your supply costs as you will be progressing lots of days as you fly back and forth across the map (even better if you have enough Gold Pieces in Bank to make compounding interest every month)
  
• Take advantage of the shop monthly resupply while doing the trade goods rounds to catch rare items (particularly rare crafting materials like arcane crystals)
  
• Also take advantage of all the suspicious locations respawning if you want to train your lockpicking and trap disarming skills quickly as well as pick up easy drops
  
• Do the town quests to boost your reputation with that town (especially worthwhile if metropolis), which means more trade goods and shop items. The higher your town reputation, the higher potential earnings you can make via trade goods (more rare trade goods worth a lot more GP and higher amount of each trade good stocked each month)
  
• If you do a loop from Ironthorn (NW) to Whitehawk City (NE) to Delland (SE) to Willburgh (SW) and back again hitting all the towns in between then it takes on average about 30 days per loop, which is the time it takes to reset the shops and marketplaces (on default setting)
  
• With a high enough Reputation level and a high enough carrying capacity (party Strength), it is possible to make millions of GP fairly quickly.

• Metropolis (20K GP Trade Permit; 30 Rep): Ajm (S), Delland (SE), San Ayrr (N), Whitehawk City (NE)
  
• Large City (5K GP Trade Permit; 20 Rep): Takka (S), Winterwarth (N)
  
• Small City (2K GP Trade Permit; 10 Rep): all the other 19 towns

In total, it costs [(20K x 3) + (5K x 2) + (2K x 19)] = 108K Gold Pieces to unlock all the Marketplaces.

Larger towns have smaller villages in their jurisdiction that have their marketplaces unlock once you purchase the trade license for their main city. While the main city prices are usually better for selling, the surrounding villages sometimes sell useful trade goods as well. Here only the main city prices will be listed for each of the trade goods.

Both Town Relationship and Global Reputation are very important for boosting your trade good profits. Global Reputation is the trophy icon at the top.

Global Reputation Benefits:
- Trade Licenses require a minimum global reputation prior to purchase
- More types of trade goods available in towns (i.e. more rare/valuable trade goods)
- More types of town quests
- Distance limitations of town quests
- Maximum capacity of town quest list

Local Town Relationship Benefits:
- Higher quantity of available town quests
- Higher quantity of available trade goods in the town (i.e. bigger stacks of each trade good)

Town Relationship Tiers:
(1) 1-19: Local residents do not know you.
(2) 20-39: Local residents are slightly impressed by you.
(3) 40-59: Local residents have a good relationship with you.
(4) 60-79: Local residents are very trustworthy to you.
(5) 80-99: Local residents are highly respected for you.

Note: There is only a random chance to get relationship boost or global reputation boost whenever you complete a task. While I usually don't recommend save-scumming things, the relationship increase success rate gets pretty low at higher relationship level (as in may have to do 5-10 quests for a single +1 rep) and if you need to get +20 relationship for each tier rep increase for each of the numerous towns it gets kind of crazy. Then if you fail a task you lose 3 relationship and even if you cancel a task you lose 1 relationship. It probably would have been better to just have guaranteed relationship increase for every completed quest. That said, the game makes it pretty easy to quick save before turning in a quest and then quick load (F8) until you get the +1 relationship or +1 global reputation every time for each quest.
