Probably only useful for beginners.

I sometimes have years between my Empyrion sessions, so this might help me multiple times :-)

Delete POI
  • open the cheat console
  • type find name - Even part of name like epsilon will list all POI with epsilon in the name
  • At the end of the response it says id=xxxx
  • Note that number and type destroy xxxx
Building
Growing Light
  • Two empty blocks between growing plot and surface for growing light:

Generators
  • Too few generators will damage them, too many does not hurt in any way. Meaning, there will be not be used unnecessary energy if you use 10 generators when 1 would be enough.

No placing on asteroids
  • All the terrain placeable items like autominers, portable constructor, water collector, etc, can only be placed on planets or moons. None of them can be placed in space

Blocks needed for a functional HV
  • HV Starter
  • Ground Repulsor Engine (Combines RCS, hover engine, and thrusters in one machine, no water hovering)
  • Cockpit
  • Fuel tank
  • Small generator

Hover
  • Hover Engine to the points which get near the ground, FRONT! (hill)
  • 1 Thruster to each direction
  • Hover thrusters always point down

Heat and radiation
  • warp core - lot of heat and radiation.
  • gravity generator - some heat and radiation. this is not too bad, you can get away this being in a corner or alongside corridor somewhere. just not in a place where you need to stop a lot.
  • generator - lot of heat
  • thrusters - massive amount of heat and some radiation.
  • fuel tanks - little radiation. if you wear light armour, you'll be fine. much smaller than for example radiation level in omicron (3.5)
  • warp fuel tank - some heat and radiation. medium armor is enough to protect.
  • growth light - some heat. medium armor is enough to protect.
  • heat/radiation is emitted one block away.
  • Walls itself don't block heat/radiation, but they of course create space between the heat source and you.

Furnace
  • the furnace uses a bit much energy when idle
  • the furnace uses incredible amounts of energy when working
  • the furnace can use your main cargo as in and out, no bad consequences

Detector on CV
  • the detectors can not be disabled/powered off in the menu
  • the CV detector needs all the time enough energy to be a problem early game
  • have a spot inside your ship where you put it and remove it depending on needs

Direction when sitting down
  • The direction you face when you put down a bench decides which direction you look when you sit on that bench.

Build a space station
  • Before you create a base in space: Hold the letter 'O' (not zero) until you turn no longer.

Base with Concrete Block or normal Steel Block?
  • For Bases: Concrete Blocks have more hitpoints than normal Steel Blocks.

Gold ore on beginner moons (for EVA)
  • Under water is said to be gold on Akua. Not verified! In fact, I looked so much for it and never found gold there. But it was worth it anyway ;-) But no gold. I think it is a myth or was there in old versions. But if you go north, where the pole area begins, the ring of snow in the north. Where the ring begins are sometimes trees. When there are many trees then search between them. You will find some gold there. But you need 5 gold ore for 1 gold ingot and not every constructor can work with gold. Large ones can.

Gold ore in the north regions of Akua looks like this:
    https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3365959163

Someone ("Fezder") just commented and told us explicitly that he found gold in water. So, I stand corrected. Not a myth.

Funny thing is, HE did not find gold in the north.

O2 bottle
  • 1 Water Container (+1 Steel Plate) => 2 O2 Bottles (250 O2)
  • 1000 actions take 1000 Water Containers and 100 iron ore and create 2000 O2 bottles

Fusion Cell
  • 50 Promethium pellets + 10 Hydrogen Bottles == 50 Promethium pellets + 5 Water Container => 2 Fusion Cell (330 PUh)
  • 1 Water Container => 0.4 Fusion Cell
  • 200 actions take 1000 Water Containers / 1000 Promethium Ore and create 400 Fusion Cells

If you find a base growing Pentaxid
  • Do NOT replace the core!
  • Just visit from time to time to harvest the Pentaxid.

  • => 2 Cement 16kg = 32kg
  • => 2 Concrete Block 1.1t = 2200kg

Energy Cell
  • 60 Crushed Stone -> 4 Energy Cell

Misc
Auto Flight
  • Ctrl-w sets an auto speed
  • If in space press I to toggle the auto brake and stop the thrusters. Fly for free.

Using "Y" or the "P" to deactivate the ship or O2
  • if you use 'Y' or the O2 button in the 'P'/Main menu, you don't lose O2, if the containers have enough empty space
  • don't toggle power on a ventilator manually if you don't want to lose O2

Spacebase
  • Have a base in space which has sun 24/7 and let it do your work, like creating O2 and fuel and keeping your stuff in the fridge.

Sleeping for Automining
  • SinglePlayer only
  • Have a bed and sleep a lot, after that you can gather lots of resources from your AutoMiners and Water Generators.
  • While you sleep you seem to not use O2. (Not 100% sure)
  • Don't go overboard or you can't transport the resources. 1 Water Container has 20 SU, a stack of 1000 has 20k SU and if you sleep some days and have multiple Water Generators you can easily get over 10k Water Containers. That would be 200k SU. Cargo Controllers for Bases and CVs have a maximum of 320k SU.

Asteroids respawning
  • in SinglePlayer: no (but you can use the console to do it, not sure how)
  • in Multiplayer: yes, respawn rate depending on server

CPU extension without CPU limits enabled
  • should not change the gameplay, no advantage to use them if CPU limits are not enabled in the world

Cargo changes ship max speed
  • if you have a perfect ship, when you load it with a LOT of cargo, it might happen you can't fly as fast as before. Or you can't fly at all.

O2
  • Only you use O2
  • If you have large rooms with O2 in your ship/space station, it will not be touched until you enter the room
  • meaning: you can put ventilators into every room, there is no O2 waste

Scenario "Default Multiplayer"
  • "It means you can grind around in the random galaxy forever but can never visit the homeworlds of each faction and can't try to "conquer" Zirax or Legacy or see their unique end-game POIs.

Default Multiplayer also comes with regenerating playfields so destroyed enemy bases and asteroids will respawn every day, and you will be able to re-raid them or mine them again. This also means you can't core and salvage or claim any bases.

I think it is also missing the repeatable faction reputation quests, but not 100% sure.

Honestly for single player (or even private server co-op) I'd just load up the Default Survival single player scenario and ignore the PDA and quests if you don't want to do them. "

Blueprints
Saving as blueprint
  • look at your vehicle/base and press alt-o
  • if you want to overwrite, make sure you select the correct vehicle to overwrite, the correct existing vehicle is NOT selected automatically

Info about blueprint (for example to find errors)
  • Console: '`' (directly below escape for many keyboards)
  • prefabinfo <BlueprintName> (by Natjur)
  • prefabinfo 'SS Quiet'

Your blueprints not recognized as yours
If you look at your blueprints ingame you can filter them for

origin:
- yours
- workshop
- stock
- internal

and type:
- Base
- HV
- SV
- CV
- All

You will see the icon of the type, then the origin and then the name.

If the origin icon is a wrench with something like a screw-nut, it means workshop, just look at the filter icons, it is the same.

If the origin icon is the little man then it is yours.

If you have the problem that your blueprint is not recognized as yours, then you can't overwrite it.

If found this post which is a workaround and works.

What you do in this workaround from andreykl:
  • Save your changed thingy (Base/SV/etc) with alt-o and save-as. You will probably have to cancel, try again, press save-as multiple times, then it will work (Which is sad).
  • Exit the game
  • go to your blueprint in the workshop and get the id (example: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2927253130 => 2927253130)
  • go to your local blueprint directory, something like "c:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Blueprints\xxxx"
  • Find the blueprint you just saved and rename it with the found id (example: SS Mini Farm__2927253130).
  • Load a game and update YOUR blueprint
  • Exit the game
  • go to the workshop and un-subscribe the blueprint
  • subscribe the blueprint (so it is downloaded again, hopefully)
  • start the game and try to spawn the workshop blueprint, not yours (should be the same now, but the icon is still wrong)

This worked for me but it is a workaround. If you find a way to fix the problem, please tell in the comments.

Yup! You were totally right, just found gold at the south pole. Hehe, I've been getting them only from ocean thus far.
Fezder 15 Nov, 2024 @ 9:37am
Huh! So I was wrong about version then, my bad. I gotta check those poles...
ZanyScum  [author] 15 Nov, 2024 @ 9:32am
I found gold in the thick tree areas in the snow area in the north yesterday.
So, yes, it is still or again there.
It looks like this: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3365959163
(I'll add this link probably to the guide too.)
Fezder 15 Nov, 2024 @ 9:14am
There was gold at the poles at earlier versions, no Idea when it changed. I haven't seen gold at the poles in any of my few years playtime. At least in Akua starting planet.
ZanyScum  [author] 15 Nov, 2024 @ 8:54am
@Fezder: Thank you, I added your information to the guide.
Fezder 15 Nov, 2024 @ 6:46am
About gold; It can be found in Akua water, only bit hard to find since It looks like dirty rock. Also It's not that common. As for finding gold on poles, I've found only cobalt there.
ZanyScum  [author] 31 Aug, 2024 @ 6:57am
This is an interesting question, but you should really ask this in the forum. I am kind of a newb in this game. I currently have 590 hours ingame but I never left the original star system. :--)
If I'd guess, I'd guess that it depends on your goals. "Are" you in your current savegame a "good" guy who hunts pirates? Are you a person who likes to trade with pirates? Do you want to kill everyone? Do you want to be friends with everyone?
I am totally guessing if all of that is possible, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were possible.
So.. why not just try to do what matches your taste the best?
generalpickleful 29 Aug, 2024 @ 10:48am
what factions are worth befriending?
ZanyScum  [author] 1 May, 2023 @ 1:41am
The larger the ship, the less you need RCSs. Even multiple ones are not very helpful after a certain mass. You then put your turning (left/right/up/down) thrusters at the very front/end and are very happy with your agile ship and then you realize these thrusters are shot down by the enemy and you put them inside and then they are not so far at the extreme points of the ships and the ship is less agile and you whine and cry a lot and need lots of tissues for all your tears.
This did OF COURSE not happen to me. Nope. Absolutely not. Oehm.. what happened to my nose? It is getting longer? And longer?
Veeshan 4 Apr, 2023 @ 3:29pm
Also learned that RCS "contribute" to turning rather than simply enable it so more help, though I've not tested.
