Stairstacking is a really fun mechanic that is healthy for Devour. Basically it lets you yeet yourself really high and get out of the map without cheats, which makes the game considerably more fun for players that have already beaten all the maps/difficulties. I have a YT guide on how to do it which shows you what I am talking about, which I will include in this guide, but I will explain it the best I can here.

Basically, when you are running up stairs and you try to jump, the jump sound is played but you don't actually jump. This is because while you are moving forward up a staircase the stairs kill your upwards momentum that you get from your jump. Well, if you spam jump fast enough while going up stairs, the upwards momentum from each jump stacks together and actually can yeet you into the sky. The easiest way to stairstack is to change your jump key to scrollwheel and just scroll your scrollwheel while running up stairs. When you reach the top of the stairs, you will fly into the air.
