How to get the game to run

Is the game not booting up right? Keeps crashing? Can't even get to the title screen? With this fix, you'll be able to get the game in working order.

Open Steam Files

Edit the Files

Boot it Up!

Go to the game's settings in Steam and download the beta (choose the one selected in the image below)

Open Steam Files

Boot up the game. If it doesn't work still, go into the files and open both "re2_config.ini" and "re2_config_default.ini" with notepad or another text editing software.

Edit the Files

In both files, replace any instance of "DirectX12" to "DirectX11" BUT keep the line that says "Capability" to whatever it was by default.

Boot it Up!

After these changes have been made, boot up the game and it will boot up normally. This worked for me, and I hope it works for you as well. If this fix did not solve the problem, don't give up, this game is definitely worth it and you should keep trying to get it to work.
