You can't get over an end as devastating as this. You thought the end of Shelter and Paws and The First Tree were emotionally damaging? HAHA THIS IS A WHOLE NEW LEVEL BUSTER.

Alright, listen, this emotionally damaged me too, so i'm not gonna leave you like the furrier left Mama Fox to die.
The fox cubs look around 3 months old by the end, and according to Google fox cubs are getting stronger around this point and can feed themselves. So hey, maybe they will make it out alive (especially if the badger found you and your cubs and mourns for you as well. Not entirely sure how to do this but if you rescue her own cub she'll appear i think).
Honestly, i don't know if there's much i can do to be of comfort, but... *pets you like mother fox does* maybe Mama Fox is up there on the rainbow bridge with other lost pets and extinct animals. Eat some ice cream and cookies if you wanna.

Pictured: My surviving cubs Katniss (left, lost and found cub) and Cinder (right). Cinder was a happy gal, always hopeful and playful, even when her last sisters were gone.

That might sound cold, but I wouldn't call the end "devastating". It would have hit way harder if the game had really ended with mama fox drowning in the flood, but seeing the mission accomplished even counts as "happy end" for me (regardless of the broken nuclear power plant and the prospect of the young foxes having to inbreed). I still had the urge to jump through the screen and pull the darn bullet out.

@ACC | Cormshee: Molly probably died because of some sort of mainly Human infection (LIKE COVID-19) that the gas masks, face masks and resperators are preventing. I also disagree on the 'revenge act' thing, because, in this terrible future, the scavenger constantly tries to kill us because he wants food (and the first time he appears, there is a rabbit in his sniper sight), and (what I assume is) the furrier's house (the one with all the animal skins and dogs) has ANIMAL SKINS meaning that he hunts often and there is no visible meat, meaning he eats them. If he killed us, he would most likely be able to survive at least another day. But still I HATE THE FURRIER

I just finished with mama badger and all 4 cubs, and saw this guide as I was scrambling to see if there were some better way... At least Badger seems to want to care for them (as her cub just died and she likes me and mine) Tbh, I hate that Scavenger oofed himself, just after I saw the good in him... I love this game, I love the moral, I love the characters, AND **** THE FURRIER, MAN!

if only there were a way, that if you were to stay w/ Scavenger until morning or smthn, he wouldn't oof himself? Maybe then the furrier wouldn't have his sniper...

I cried so much I hated it and I wish there was a way to not get shot! Its to sad for me to handle and I get so nervous in this game but still love playing through it even if the end is sad.

thank you for this. it may be hard but this is why we as humans need to save the plante. we need to save all the mama foxes :)

i was devastated, but i was also happy that the cubs made it through. The fact the any stories that involves animals ends tragically bothers me a lot. It seems that the writers tend to push further when it comes to animals. She chould have died many other times, but not like this :(
