Description

Successfully exploiting the NextBot AI's pathing by blocking the path segment's goal. This makes the bot overshoot the goal and have to walk backwards just a bit.

Old Description:
A very very really very pointless strategy to even consider in game. It's more luck than strategy when you can't even see the path segments without sv_cheats.
In a game, the bots might also also chase after you too, so you probably won't even realize if you've done it. Even with this video, it's hard to tell if it's just bad pathing or actually getting the special case.

Errata:
After brainstorming potential strategies to tackle this, I've realized that this exploit comes into play much more often than I had previously imagined. I mentioned in the main video that blocking a path segment's goal may be only possible if you knew where the goal was. While it is true that the segment goals are always invisible to players on typical servers with sv_cheats off, there is an extremely common case where guessing where path the segment goals are may be trivial.

Lemma: NextBot AI pathing will *always* place the path segment goal on the *edge* of a nav mesh polygon regardless of the polygon's area.

Performing this exploit becomes a method through probability due to the goal's invisible characteristic. By factoring in the lemma, we can substantially increase the probability of blocking a segment goal by attempting to perform the exploit in areas where the density of nav polygons is much higher. This means the areas with complex nav meshes such as curves and uneven terrain will have a much higher success chance than in the middle of wide open areas. This is due to the linear approximation of a map's curved path, since nav meshes are typically drawn with rectangles.
