Being an actual stray, meaning a cat without an owner, the main protagonist of Stray does not have a name or at least not one that can be told with human language. But that said, the real-life main inspiration behind the creation of this lovely video game character has one.

飼い主のいない猫を意味する”Stray(ストレイ)”。その”Stray”である主人公には名前はありませんし、あったとしても人の言葉で伝えられるような名前ではありません。しかしこの愛らしいキャラクターのインスピレーションの源となった実在する”彼”には名前があります。

Reference for the hero.
Murtaugh is one of the cofounders’ (Viv and Koola) two cats and was an actual stray who was found in the streets near the city of Montpellier, France under a car.

主人公のモデル。
マート―は共同設立者のVivとKoolaが2匹飼っている猫のうちの1匹で、フランス、モンペリエ市近くの路上で車の下にいた野良猫でした。

Oscar is a Sphynx who comes to work with us at the studio almost everyday and was super helpful when Miko needed to have actual video reference of some jumps and runs.
