Believe it or not, but magazine tubes longer than the barrel are a thing with irl shotguns (mainly with like, competition shooting guys who *need* a ton of shells)
Gets a lot less absurd when you remember that real shotguns have *way* less spread than videogame shotguns do, like the mag tube would have to stick out pretty damn far before it'd have a risk of catching pellets
