If you're like me you've had your save erase itself, but I have found out how to back up my game so if it gets deleted again I'll be able to restore it.

Firstly find the location of your save data by going to:
Steam folder>userdata>(user id folder)>1383960
Should have local folder, remote folder and remotecache

Copy everything from 1383960 folder whenever you finish playing and have it stored somewhere.

When the game erases your save data, grab what you have copied and put it in that same directory that you originally copied it from.

You should now have your data back and can continue playing.

I also turn off Steam Cloud when doing this just in case.
