POPGOES and The Machinist:
1. The logo for POPGOES and The Machinist now turns gold when you obtain 200% completion.
2. The locked index page for The Machinist was orange, when it should be teal. Fixed!

POPGOES and The Machinist minor spoilers:
1. Shield sprites for plenty of enemies were incorrect and have now been updated.
2. Surviving a stun attack from a robot would turn all damage numbers cyan from then on. Fixed!

The first major update for POPGOES Arcade on Steam is here! 2.1.0 features plenty of bug fixes, optimisations, and BRAND NEW FEATURES!

The Machinist fixes/additions:
NEW: You can now break free special BB-Bots from the barricades in each cave once you have defeated The Machinist. BB-Bots will give you 10 coins for every scrap you give them. There are four BB-Bots in total, and they can each convert 25 scrap. That's right, you can get 1000 coins by cashing in your scrap in the post-game! Exhaust all four BB-Bots for one final surprise.
NEW: You can now rematch the secret boss by accessing their Index page after defeating them. If you missed out on a certain achievement, now you can get it!
NEW: "Antistatic", an achievement for winning a battle while stunned.
NEW: "Centurion", an achievement for winning 100 battles against enemies in The Machinist.
NEW: "Hammer It Home", an achievement for exhausting all four BB-Bots.
The sprites for the signs outside each Inn have been changed to say "HINT 1", "HINT 2", and "HINT 3", because players didn't realise they gave unique information.
The "E" button element in the top left of special Index pages has been fixed for controller users.
A scrap ore was misaligned in the west forest cave by one pixel. Fixed!
The beam of light in the south forest cave is now centred.

General fixes/additions:
The intro "STORY" screen has been updated to say "spinoff" instead of "fangame".
ATK+ and DEF+ now both use "5" in their descriptions. One of them used to say "five".
You will now be given the "Beastmaster" achievement even if you were given page(s) for free via the transition to The Machinist.
The "An Apple A Day" achievement can now be granted to players who had already picked all fruit in the free version of the game. Just play the Steam version and it'll be given.
Some people were missing out on the "What Now?" (all achievements) achievement due to being offline when the final one was achieved. This will now check whether you have all achievements upon boot-up of the game.
The "Pop Champ" achievement is now earned exclusively by defeating enemies in The Dead Forest.
MID-GAME SPOILER: BB in the south forest has been moved slightly so that he can be stood perfectly in front of. Was a bit annoying beforehand.


Go, play, enjoy! Let us know if you run into any issues (because there probably will be some - we don't have much of an opportunity to test these updates!) and we will work hard to fix it up.

We are planning another major update, hopefully out by Friday but maybe on the weekend. 2.2 will add features that improve the gameplay experience for The Dead Forest, based on the amazingly useful feedback we have received since launch.

The Dead Forest and general fixes/additions:
NEW: Introducing "Corruption Hotspots"! When you defeat BB, corrupt puddles will appear in the three main forests, which you can walk through for a super-high enemy encounter rate. Corruption Hotspots have three positions per forest which they will cycle between over time, so go looking for them! This should make BB's hitlists a little less tedious. Enjoy!
NEW: You can now force keyboard controls from the "STORY"/intro screen if the game is falsely detecting a controller. Those of you who were stuck on this screen... Be stuck no longer!
The navigation of The Bestiary and The Index has been overhauled. Moving the cursor across the matrix horizontally will no longer snap it to the bottom of the column.
The currently selected colour for Popgoes' vest/eyes is now reflected on the title screen of the game.
The cap for items is x99, but having this amount would sometimes display x100 in the UI for Holly's Shop. Fixed!
MID-GAME SPOILER: Dead Boar and Gilded Dead Boar had incorrect stats on their Bestiary pages. Fixed!
MID-GAME SPOILER: The "STATS" section of the E menu has been resized to give all four of BB's upgrades some more breathing room.


The Machinist fixes/additions:
NEW: Introducing "Gilded Popgoes"! When you reach 200% completion, you will be given the option to swap out your top hat for a gilded one in your room at each inn. Doing this will transform you into Gilded Popgoes. This will turn you bright gold, change your name in battles, and give you a snazzy particle effect! This should work in cutscenes, the title screen, and be compatible with all paints. It even stays when you start a new game! Enjoy!
A special indicator will now appear in the bedroom when you have "seen something you shouldn't have".
THE DEAD FOREST SPOILER: The clippable wall in The Castle no longer has an out-of-place sprite after moving to The Machinist.

FINAL BOSS SPOILER: The damage rate of The Machinist's laser pillar has been doubled, however can now be reduced by DEF+. It will still bypass shields (not a bug).
200% SPOILER: If you encountered CAM7 directly after fighting the secret boss, for example through its index page, then CAM7's battle background would be the secret boss's. Fixed!

MAJOR: Fixed the issue where the game would not generate a save file + folder upon first boot-up of the game.
MID-GAME SPOILER: The Escape button now has a button prompt for keyboard. 2.2.0 added a prompt but only for controller for some reason!

The Machinist fixes/additions:
200% SPOILER: Fixed the issue where Gilded Popgoes wouldn't be preserved upon New Game unless you had him equipped. Now he will be preserved no matter what. Hopefully! A big apology to anyone who lost their Gilded Popgoes when New Gameing in 2.2.0.
