First off
I have made this for a couple reasons:
  1. People yelling at me and screaming "SCAMMER OMG NEVA TRADE DIS GY!!!%*@" when really they should be yelling at me saying "SHARKER OMG NEVA TRADE DIS GY!!!%*@"
  2. To explain the difference between scamming and sharking to people joining the http://scan.tf website.
  3. To inform people the difference so no one gets rejected by steamrep when they place a sharking report!
Sharking
Sharking is when one person (we will call him Bob) rips off another guy (who we will call Jeffery). Jeffery is very new player to the game and has not heard of any price checking websites for example backpack.tf or spreadsheet.tf but he recently purchased a key and unboxed an unusual, Bob here has seen an opportunity so he asks Jeffery if he would like a weapon for his unusual and Bob accepts. This is perfectly fine since both players got what they wanted
Scamming
Scamming is very different to sharking! Scamming is when one person (we will call him Bob (so original!)) goes into a trade with another guy (Jeffery) and Jeffery KNOWS the price of of his unusual he unboxed so Jeffery puts up his unusual and Bob puts up an earbud or two and Jeffery thinks he is going to get the two earbuds but when he completes the trade he only gets one! This is not fine and should be reported to steamrep if this happens to you or anyone you know
A Quick Overview
1. Scamming is way worse than sharking and should be reported to steamrep.
2. There are many ways to scam in TF2 so watch out!
3. Sharking is still a mean move no matter if it's allowed or not.
4a. This is not a guide on how to stop this from happening.
4b. In depth guide on how not to get scammed[lmgtfy.com]
5. Love ya
6. We already have too many sharks in Australia, we don't need more.
7. We already have too many nigerian scammers on the interwebs, we don't need more.

This is literally false? lol if you offer someone a weapon for an unusual that is scamming

Sharking is scamming because it is a fraud since you trick someone, and seeing how the definition of scamming is "a form of fraud" sharking is scamming, just a more descriptive term, doesn't justify sharking whatsoever.

that is pretty much exactly the fine line between scamming and sharking, if both people know what they are getting then it is a regular trade/shark, if one person thinks they are going to get something and have a good reason to (not "why wouldn't he put it in there" [use common sense]) and the other person does something so that he does not get it then its a scam.
